Item Comportamento de suínos da raça Piau, submetidos a enriquecimento ambiental(2019) Silva, Maciel Morato da; Holanda, Mônica Calixto Ribeiro de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4373630020897826The aim of this study was to evaluate the behavior of Piau pigs during weaning through the environmental enrichment technique. Twenty male neutered piglets were used, kept in stalls enriched with manufactured toys and distributed in a completely randomized experimental design, through an electronic random selection, with four treatments and five replications: T1 treatment - control, without environmental enrichment; T2 – enriched with tire; T3 - enriched with chain and T4 - enriched with Polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottle filled with stones. All enrichment materials (T2, T3 and T4) were suspended by wire and kept at eye level. To characterize the behavior, an etogram was used and the behaviors expressed by the piglets were observed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., with 10 min intervals, for each day of evaluation. The behaviors evaluated were: drinking (D), eating (E), sleeping (S), rooting (R), inactive alert (IA), playing (P), biting and pushing the grid (BPG). The Kruskal-Wallis test was used. That was observed no difference in the variables D, E, S and IA (P> 0.05). However, there was significant difference (P<0.05) for R, P and BPG. In the variable R, the stall with chain showed that the piglets spent more time interacting with the object than the other treatments. For the P variable, all treatments were better than the Control, and the treatment enriched with tire (T2) were the one with the best result. The BPG attitude was superior compared to Control group, possibly due to the lack of stimulation in the environment, making it poor. As conclusion, the environmental enrichment in the Piau piglets in the Semi-arid region increases the welfare level of freshly weaned piglets.Item Desempenho zootécnico de suínos nas fases de crescimento e terminação submetidos a diferentes programas de iluminação em ambientes climatizados(2018) Lima, Adiel Vieira de; Holanda, Mônica Calixto Ribeiro de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4373630020897826; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3278533468345906The experiment was conducted in the Swine Sector of UFRPE / UAST. Twenty-seven piglets, castrated male and female, from Pietrain-Duroc matrices, with initial weight of 38.1 ± 4.2 kg were used. The experimental design was completely randomized, in a 3 x 3 factorial arrangement, with 27 animals randomly distributed in nine bays with three air conditioning systems and three light supplementation programs, considering three replications per treatment. Feed and water were provided at will and the diets for each evaluation period were formulated with corn and soybean meal in order to meet the nutritional requirements of the animals (growth and finishing stages). The animals were weighed and housed in stalls with a ceramic tile roof, providing 6.0 m² of floor space, containing a semiautomatic type feeder and a pacifier-type waterer at a height of 40 cm from the ground in each bay. The pigs were weighed weekly and rations and leftovers were weighed daily (morning and afternoon) to evaluate performance parameters: weekly weight gain, total weight gain, daily feed intake and mean feed conversion. The performance parameters were analyzed using the SAS® GLM procedure and the comparison of the means, when necessary, were performed by the Tukey test at 5% probability. In the 30 to 50 kg (CRES I), 51 to 70 kg (CRES II) and 71 to 90 kg (TERM) phases, no interaction was observed between the light hours provided and the air conditioning systems (P> 0, 05) for daily ration consumption, daily weight gain and feed conversion. In the CRES I phasesthere was no significant difference (P> 0.05) in the light hours provided nor in the air conditioning systems on the analyzed variables. In the CRES II phase there was a significant difference (P <0.05) for daily ration consumption in both light hours and in air conditioning systems. In the baits with forced ventilation (BV) the consumption was greater with the supply of 12 and 18 hours of light. In the bays with evaporative adiabatic cooling (BR), the feed intake was lower (P <0.05) as the light hours provided increased. In the bays with natural light (12 hours) feed consumption was higher in BV, followed by BR, being worse in the unventilated bay (BS) and there was no significant impact on weight gain and feed conversion. When evaluating feed conversion, a significant difference (P <0.05) was observed for light hours and for air conditioning systems. Regardless of the air conditioning systems, feed conversion of the animals worsened as the supply of artificial light increased. Taking into account the systems of climatization it was observed that only in the BR there was worsening in the feed conversion when 12 and 18 hours of light were provided. In the TERM phase the light hours did not influence any of the studied variables. The air conditioning systems did not influence (P> 0.05) the feed conversion rate of finishing pigs. However, the climatization systems influenced (P <0.05) the varying feed intake and daily weight gain. In the bays without air conditioning the feed consumption was lower. In BR the feed intake was higher than that observed in the bays with BV and BS. It was concluded that the climatic systems adopted and the light programs provided did not improve the performance of semen-reared pigs.Item Manejo produtivo de suínos em ciclo completo em Maranguape–CE(2019-12-12) Cordeiro, Maria Agda da Silva; Holanda, Mônica Calixto Ribeiro de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4373630020897826; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2107862278151176Item Manejo produtivo e reprodutivo de suínos criados em sistema confinado intensivo(2019) Lima, Jadiane Maria de; Holanda, Mônica Calixto Ribeiro de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4373630020897826; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6895665852695051Item Manejo produtivo e reprodutivo de suínos criados em sistema confinado intensivo(2018) Lima, Adiel Vieira de; Holanda, Mônica Calixto Ribeiro de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4373630020897826; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3278533468345906Item Manejo reprodutivo de suínos em ciclo completo em Maranguape-CE(2019-12-09) Barbosa, Elys de Barros; Holanda, Mônica Calixto Ribeiro de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4373630020897826; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2855822796485177Item Níveis de energia metabolizável para suínos da raça piau em crescimento, criados em região de clima quente(2019-07-03) Lima, Jadiane Maria de; Holanda, Mônica Calixto Ribeiro de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4373630020897826; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6895665852695051Objective to evaluate the influence of different levels of metabolizable energy (me) in castrated male pigs Piau breed, in growth phase I of 30 to 50 kg of body weight. 20 were castrated males with average initial landing body weight of 18.0 ± 8.30 kg. Four treatments were used with decreasing levels of metabolizable energy in the diets (2,630, 2,830, 3,030, 3,230 Kcal of metabolizable energy/kg feed) and five repetitions per treatment, in which each animal was in an experimental unit. The experimental rations used were formulated to meet the nutritional needs of animals, by varying the value of the digestible energy through the amount of corn, soybean and wheat bran contained. Statistical analysis were evaluated by analysis of variance F-test, difference applies the Tukey test. The measure of regression was used to evaluate the performance of the variables in relation to different treatments. Was evaluated by the 5% significance level of probability for all levels. All analyses were performed using R-Project version 2.13.1 software for Windows. Castrated male pigs to breed Piau, supply of feed containing 3,230 Kcal of metabolizable energy kg -1 of 30 to 50 kg resulted in higher feed intake, weight gain and lower feed conversion.Item Produção de suínos em ciclo completo em sistema confinado(2019) Silva, Maciel Morato da; Holanda, Mônica Calixto Ribeiro de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4373630020897826Item Relação energia:proteína para suínos Piau de 15 a 30 kg de peso corporal criados em sistema alternativo no semiárido pernambucano(2019-12-09) Maria Agda da Silva Cordeiro; Holanda, Mônica Calixto Ribeiro de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4373630020897826; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2107862278151176In the swine production, the improvement of the nutritional management has been working, since the feeding is still the factor of greater impact in the total cost of the production, motivating continuous research in order to determine the best efficiency in the energy: protein ratio, joining gains biological to economic gains, with energy being the limiting factor that determines the voluntary consumption of feed by the animal, and therefore it is necessary to balance the feed according to the nutritional requirements in relation to the energy content. Given the above, the objective was to determine the best energy: protein ratio in diets for Piau male pigs from 15 to 30 kg body weight, reared in an open-air alternative system in Pernambuco Semi-arid. The experiment was carried out in the UFRPE/UAST Swine Sector, using 20 Piau male castrated piglets, with initial weight of 15 + 1.5 kg of body weight. The experimental design was completely randomized with five levels of metabolizable energy (3,230, 3,080, 2,930, 2,780 and 2,630 kcal kg-1 diet) and four replications, each animal being an experimental unit. Feed and water were freely supplied and the diets used for evaluation were formulated based on corn, wheat bran and soybean meal to meet the nutritional requirements of the animals' development (rearing phase). The animals were weighed and housed and in an experimental shed with 3.0 x 2.0 m (6 m2) stalls arranged in an east-west direction, with open sides and 0.8 m high walls, ceiling height of 2.5 m. m, fitted with a ceramic floor covering with compact floor, containing a semi-automatic feeder and pacifier drinker at a height of 40 cm from the floor in each stall. The management adopted was the one traditionally practiced in the national technified pig farming. The pigs were weighed weekly together with the rations and feed leftovers, to evaluate the performance parameters: daily weight gain, daily feed intake and feed conversion. Performance parameters were analyzed using statistical analysis of variance and F and Tukey tests with significance level at 5% probability, using R-Project version 3.5.3 for Windows software. No significant effect (P>0.05) on piglets performance was observed with the reduction of metabolizable energy levels in the diet on daily weight gain, daily feed intake and feed conversion. It was concluded that the energy reduction in the Piau castrated male swine feed at minimum levels (2,630 kcal kg -1 feed) did not affect the performance of the animals, suggesting that the energy: protein ratio of 151.59, aiming at the reduction of production costs combined with the improvement of zootechnical performance.Item Relação energia:proteína para suínos Piau de 70 a 90 kg de peso corporal criados em sistema alternativo no Semiárido pernambucano(2019-12-09) Barbosa, Elys de Barros; Holanda, Mônica Calixto Ribeiro de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4373630020897826; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2855822796485177Increasingly the consumer market has been directed to products whose characteristics meet the demand of the population in the search for the supply of animal protein that meets the requirements, both from a nutritional and health point of view as well as from an economic point of view. However, increasing productivity of swine herds has been increasingly sought, and allied to this, animal nutrition work has been intensified to determine both protein and energy requirements, to better meet material requirements, genetic resources in the field. The objective of this study was to evaluate the influence of different energy levels on Piau castrated male pigs in the finishing phase of 70 to 90 kg body weight. Twenty castrated males with initial mean body weight of 71 ± 0.72 kg were used, distributed in four treatments with decreasing levels of metabolizable energy in the diets (3,230, 3,000, 2,770 and 2,540 kcal of metabolizable energy/kg ration) and five replications per diet, each animal was considered an experimental unit. The diets used were formulated to meet the nutritional needs of animals, varying the value of metabolizable energy through the amount of corn, soybean meal and wheat bran.Statistical analyzes were performed using analysis of variance and regression, and the F and Tukey tests with a significance level of 5% probability, using the R-Project version 2.13.1 for Windows software. There was a significant effect (P <0.05) on the performance of the piglets as a function of energy: protein ratio for Piau castrated male finishing pigs for period weight gain, feed intake and feed conversion.
