Item Relatório de Estágio Supervisionado Obrigatório (ESO) realizado na Empresa Guaraves Guarabira Aves Ltda. Relato de caso: debicagem por radiação infravermelha e técnica holandesa na fase de cria: um estudo comparativo realizado em galinhas poedeiras da granja localizada no município de Mamanguape/PB(2024-08-01) Pacheco, Leonardo Ferreira; Barros, Mércia Rodrigues; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1935392548217410The Compulsory Supervised Internship (ESO) is the last course of the Veterinary Medicine degree programme at the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco (UFRPE). Its main objective is to give students the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge in a practical environment. With a total workload of 420 hours, the ESO was carried out at the company Guaraves Guarabira Ayes Ltda, located in Guarabira, PB, between 1 April 2024 and 14 June 2024. The company operates in the industrial poultry sector and during the placement it was possible to experience different stages of the production chain, including the handling of heavy breeders, a hatchery for the production of day-old chicks, broiler farms (from chick reception to pre-slaughter), a slaughterhouse and a commercial laying hen fain The Brazilian poultry industry is known worldwide for its dynamism and technology, and the veterinarian is a key figure in all segments of this production chain. Based on this principle, it is of the utmost importance for maintaining production and quality indices that management is employed, including pecking in laying birds, especially considering the high density of housing, a factor that increases competition for food and aggressiveness, which can lead to loss of uniformity and cannibalism. The aim of this study is to evaluate and compare the weight, organ development and uniformity indices of two flocks pecked using the infrared radiation (III) beak trinmfing technique and "V" beak trimming technique.
