The present work aims to analyze the authoritarianism and judicial repression to the communists during the time course of the called first Vargas government (1930-1945) leading from the National Security Court (TSN) experience. However, the time frame approached is directed to the years of 1936 and 1937 when, after an attempt of armed coup leaded by the Aliança Nacional Libertadora(ALN), the judicial repression against the bolshevik doutrine is intesified. In this sense, has sought to compreend the formation of the repressive apparatus from the dictatorial project of the Estado Novo in the Especial Justice scope. Therefore, has been mobilized the notion of idelogical crime in Marcília Gama Silva (2007) and of national security in order to uderstand the politcal motivations, the modus operandi, and the TSN role.

The article in question will deal with one of the most controversial periods of Brazilian historiography, which is precisely the time of the Estado Novo. For this we will need to understand a little more about the international context and the political changes that have happened in Brazil. From the bibliographic sources of the authors Hannah Arendt and Maria Helena Capela to they understood the political moment and how the use of the tools of the means of communication were essential as an instrument of repression in the period of the Estado Novo.

Even 57 years after the beginning of the Brazilian military dictatorship, the discussion on the subject generates heated and passionate debates. Human rights and individual liberties are still relativized in a contumacious way, and not much has been learned from this experience. Fiery political speeches detract from those who fell in the fight against the dictatorship in an attempt to justify the atrocities committed by the regime. One such victim was the teacher Lúcia Emília Carvalho de Araújo, who, like hundreds of other victims, lacks in-depth research about the mistreatment to which they were subjected. The documentary collection used for this research comes from the Public Archive of Pernambuco, which has vast documentation from the former Department of Political and Social Order – DOPS – (1935 – 1990).
