    O Estágio Supervisionado Obrigatório (ESO) é a disciplina obrigatória do décimo primeiro período do curso de bacharelado em Medicina Veterinária da Universidade Federal Rural de Pernambuco (UFRPE). Tem por base a vivência prática de 420 horas, em determinada área da medicina veterinária, cujo enfoque é tornar o discente apto a exercer sua função, mediante aquisição do título de médico veterinário. Neste sentido, o presente relatório tem como objetivo principal demonstrar as principais atividades exercidas pela discente Letícia Silva Freire de Menezes, sob orientação e supervisão, respectivamente, da professora Drª Maria Betânia de Queiroz Rolim e das médicas veterinárias Janaina Azevedo Guimarães e Kallyane Lira de Araújo; e como objetivo secundário, de realizar uma revisão de literatura sobre a utilização de leites fermentados como coadjuvante ao tratamento da depressão. O ESO ocorreu no período de 1 de novembro a 20 de dezembro de 2024; e 20 de janeiro a 14 de fevereiro de 2025, no Laboratório de Patologia Clínica Veterinária – LPCV – no Hospital Veterinário da UFRPE, localizada no município de Recife/PE e no período de 2 de janeiro a 17 de janeiro de 2025 na Indústria de Laticínios LETA Ltda, localizada no município de Bom Conselho/PE.

    This paper describes the activities developed in the Mandatory Supervised Internship (ESO), a mandatory discipline in the curriculum of the Veterinary Medicine course at the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco (UFRPE), with a total workload of 420 hours. The internship was initially carried out at the Pernambuco Equine Center, located in the city of Gravatá - PE, and later at the Clinical Pathology Laboratory of the Bixo's Veterinary Clinic, in the city of Jaboatão dos Guararapes - PE, under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Gustavo Ferrer Carneiro, during the period from November 1, 2024 to January 21, 2025.During the internship, carried out at the Pernambuco Equine Center, it was possible to actively participate in the laboratory routine, monitoring and assisting in the performance of tests for the diagnosis of Equine Infectious Anemia and Equine Glanders. In addition, at the Clinical Pathology Laboratory, I had the opportunity to participate in several laboratory analyses, including hematological and biochemical tests, urinalysis, parasitological fecal examinations, immunochromatographic tests and dermatological cytology. In addition, I collaborated in the preparation of the respective reports at the end of the analyses, contributing to the interpretation of the results.This report also includes the presentation of an article that addresses platelet activation of platelet-rich plasma obtained and subjected to cryopreservation and lyophilization. The study was carried out at the Andrology Laboratory (ANDROLAB) of the Department of Veterinary Medicine at UFRPE, and was partially developed in collaboration with the Clinical Pathology Laboratory of Clínica Bixo’s.

    The Mandatory Supervised Internship (MSI) of the Veterinary Medicine program at UFRPE is essential for students to explore the professional environment prior to graduation. Required for obtaining a bachelor's degree, the internship fosters the development of theoretical and practical skills acquired throughout the academic training. Chapter I of this report describes the routine carried out in the Veterinary Clinical Pathology Laboratory (VCPL) at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital of UFRPE, totaling 420 hours. The laboratory is equipped with adequate infrastructure for clinical laboratory analyses of fluids and secretions, aimed at conducting and/or assisting clinicians in the diagnosis and prognosis of patients at the Veterinary Hospital of UFRPE. Thus, the report includes a description of the activities performed in the laboratory, encompassing the work routine, casuistic of examinations, and a specific case study. Chapter II presents a case report entitled “Hematological Manifestations of Paraneoplastic Syndrome in a Dog with Mammary Neoplasia Treated at a Veterinary Teaching Hospital in Recife-PE.” It is noteworthy that the MSI contributed to the training and acquisition of greater experience in the field of veterinary clinical pathology, aiding in the transition to the job market.

    The Mandatory Supervised Internship is an essential step towards completing the Veterinary Medicine course. It is a mandatory subject in the Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine curriculum at the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco, with a total workload of 420 hours. To carry out the internship, it was decided to divide the workload equally between two locations: the VETS Diagnostic Laboratory and the Infectious Diseases Laboratory of the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco, both located in the city of Recife/PE. This work aims to report the experiences during the Mandatory Supervised Internship, carried out under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Erika Fernanda Torres Samico Fernandes Cavalcanti and the supervision of Veterinarians Carolina Gomes Rodrigues dos Santos and André de Souza Santos. From this stage, an article was developed on the presence of anti-Leptospira spp. antibodies. in blood serum samples from cats from a serum bank at a Private Clinical Pathology Laboratory in Recife/PE.

    The Mandatory Supervised Internship (MSI) is included in the curricular matrix of the Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine course, to be completed in the last period of graduation, with a total workload of 420 hours, which must be completed in the area of activity intended by the student, in order experience the practical routine. The Chapter I of this report describes the routine experienced in the clinical pathology laboratory of the ‘Bicho Mimado’ veterinary hospital complex, located in the Cordeiro neighborhood, in Recife. The MSI was carried out from April 1st to June 20th, 2024, under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Renata Pimentel Bandeira de Melo and supervision by Dr. Davi Wilson Mariano Gomes Filho. The activities consisted of monitoring the laboratory routine, from the arrival of biological material (blood, feces, urine, cavity fluid or others) to the execution of laboratory techniques and the interpretation of reports. Chapter II, in turn, addresses the scientific study entitled “Hematological changes in dogs diagnosed with Ehrlichia sp. and Anaplasma sp.”. It is noteworthy that completing the MSI contributed to the training and acquisition of greater experience in the area of veterinary clinical pathology, contributing to entry into the job market.

    The Mandatory Supervised Internship is a course in the 11th semester of the Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Medicine, with a total workload of 420 hours. It provides a significant opportunity for students to gain practical experiences and develop skills in their chosen field, playing a crucial role in their professional development. The aim of this paper is to report on the experiences during the mandatory supervised internship conducted at the Clinical Pathology Laboratory of Bixo’s Veterinary Clinic, which took place from October 2, 2023, to January 19, 2024. The activities carried out during this period included processing and analysis of hematological and biochemical samples, urinalyses, fecal and skin parasitological examinations, immunochromatographic tests, dermatological cytology exams, and, upon completion of the analyses, the preparation of their respective reports. The supervised internship was a very enriching experience, which provided training for the clinical pathology practical experiences, allowing the student to immerse themselves in the professional routine after their major, preparing them for the job market.

    The Mandatory Supervised Internship (MSI) is the compulsory subject of the eleventh period of the Bachelor's Degree in Veterinary Medicine at the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco (UFRPE) which is based on a practical duration of 420 hours, whose focus is to make the student able to exercise their function by acquiring the title of Veterinary Doctor. This report aims to demonstrate the practical activities developed by the student Roseane da Silva Araújo in the area of Small Animal Medical Clinic, from February 14, 2022 to May 3, 2022 at Cardeal Pet Veterinary Clinic, located in the city of Recife. The MSI had the supervision of veterinary Patrícia Delgado Falcão and guidance of Doctor Teacher Maria Betânia de Queiroz Rolim. As specific objectives are the description of the structure and functioning of the clinic and the clinical pathology laboratory, as well as the accompanied casuistry, starting with the monitoring of the medical and surgical routine of small animals and the routine of the laboratory attached to the company. A clinical case of dermatophytosis by Microsporum canis in a feline was also reported, on which a discussion was held about the findings, treatment and final considerations.

    Laboratory diagnosis proves to be an important and effective tool for concluding diagnoses in clinical cases. Among several laboratory sectors which include microbiology, parasitology and animal pathology, the sector that has the greatest diagnostic routine is that of clinical pathology. The Mandatory Supervised Internship (ESO) was carried out in the Zooanálises laboratory, at the Chatterrie Veterinary Clinic, from April 19, 2021 to July 5, 2021. The internship was intended to improve the student's knowledge in the context of clinical veterinarian pathology, specifically, in obtaining skills and developing technical knowledge in carrying out laboratory diagnosis, thus allowing the conclusion of the course and obtaining the title of Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine. During the internship, the student developed activities with hematology, serum biochemistry, cytology, immunochromatographic tests and parasitology. In addition to what was reported, it was also possible to develop the study entitled: "High frequency of tetracycline resistance genes in Staphylococcus aureus isolated from goat coalho cheese”.

    The Compulsory Supervised Internship is the last discipline of the Veterinary Medicine course, having great importance in the formation of the student, since it is from it that one can experience the practice of the veterinary doctor's profession in the intended area. Thus, the experience of the full performance of the professional occurs, preparing the student for the job market. The report describes the activities carried out in the area of Veterinary Clinical Pathology, at the NEOLAB, under the supervision of the veterinarian Ebla Lorena Sales de Araújo. The total workload was 420 hours in the period from September 01 to November 18, 2021. In addition, it aimed to analyze the frequency and types of cytological diagnoses, also observing data such as age, species, location and type of lesion in order to compare with the literature described and highlight the importance of cytopathological examination in veterinary clinical routine. For such, a scientific article was prepared from a survey of the reports of cytological diagnoses performed at the NEOLAB, within a period of 10 months.
