The objective was to highlight the functional dynamics of LAOC and the clinical series involving large animals, especially ruminant species. The series was characterized by the predominance of ruminant cases (60%) over the other species, comprising 40% between horses and pigs. Among the clinical cases followed, we highlight one of the sheep with urolithiasis, which is one of the most common diseases among small ruminants, especially sheep. It was an eight-year-old crossbred sheep (CS) with a history of loss of appetite, dysuria and inadequate feeding. Clinically, the animal presented rigid gait, with enlargement of the left scrotum and pain on palpation in the urogenital region. Based on the anamnesis, clinical signs presented by the animal and complementary exams, it was concluded that the diagnosis was Obstructive Urolithiasis, and a literature review was performed on the subject. Regarding the internship, it was concluded that the outpatient routine practiced by residents and professors, accompanied by the interns, provided the deepening and the perception of the interconnection between theoretical and practical knowledge, previously acquired during undergraduate and internships.Item Avaliação clínica nutricional e controle de peso em cães com sobrepeso ou obesidade atendidos no Hospital Veterinário da UFRPE – termografia infravermelha como auxiliar na rotina clínica veterinária – relato de caso(2019-11-26) Carvalho, Diego Lucas Couto Paes Barreto de; Souza, Daniela Maria Bastos de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4856221548369438; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9758678481739257The Compulsory Supervised Internship was held at the Veterinary Hospital of the Veterinary Medicine Department of the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco - HOVET / UFRPE, from August 12 to November 19, 2019, supervised by Professor Daniela Maria Bastos de Souza, from the Department of Animal Morphology and Physiology - UFRPE, sponsored by Nestlé® Purina®, within the Nestlé® Purina® Young Veterinary Program. During the ESO, the aim was to provide overweight or obese dog breeders treated at the UFRPE teaching hospital with specialized care in the areas of Basic Nutrition and Small Animal Clinical Nutrition, within the Dog and Cat Weight Reduction Program. developed by Nestlé® Purina®. Through nutrition, the project sought to bring health, well-being, quality of life and longevity to the participating canines. By seeking modern, non-invasive, non-radiation, low-cost methods that can help prevent and monitor animal diseases, as well as assist in diagnosis, Infrared Thermography (IRT) has gained prominence. 4,094 thermograms from different areas of interest were evaluated. The care chosen to be reported refers to the IRT of a dog, English bulldog breed, with postoperative neurological sequelae, admitted to a private clinic in Recife, as an alternative imaging exam to better understand the possible brain injury, not diagnosed by Computed tomography, and to evaluate the peripheral circulatory repercussions from the damage. The objective of this work was to evaluate the performance of dogs submitted to weight reduction program and fed with Nestlé® Purina® Pro Plan® Veterinary Diets - Overweight Management ration, as well as to prove the effectiveness of infrared thermography as an auxiliary exam in the routine of veterinarians. It is concluded that success for weight reduction in dogs is closely correlated with the handling and disciplinarity of guardians following medical recommendations. IRT has been shown to be an effective method to assist veterinarians in their daily life in a variety of domestic canine disease situations. It was also of great importance in helping to better understand the damage from brain injury and hypothesis survey, being a collaborative examination of veterinary clinical conduct to resolve / understand the conditions.Item Relatório do Estágio Supervisionado Obrigatório (ESO) realizado no Laboratório de Diagnóstico Animal LTDA (LADA) e Mauricéa Alimentos do Nordeste LTDA(2019) Barbosa, Williane Maria Pereira; Barros, Mércia Rodrigues; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1935392548217410; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1953940538929612This report presents the activities carried out during the Mandatory Supervised Internship, which was held from October 15, 2018 to February 12, 2019 at the Animal Diagnostic Laboratory (LADA) and Mauricéa Alimentos do Nordeste Ltda. The main activities carried out at LADA were poultry necropsy, ELISA Enzyme Immunosorbent Assay, Rapid Agglutination Serum (SAR) test, antibiogram, raw material mycotoxin screening, microbiological water analysis and Salmonella spp egg screening. At Mauricéa Alimentos, the main activities were monitoring production management in feed production, bromatology laboratory, as well as monitoring the management in hatchery, poultry farms and broiler chicken. In LADA activities, the evaluation of maize samples for poultry was also performed, with the purpose of performing Mycotoxin detection by ELISA. Given the above, it is important to further analyze and study the damage generated by the presence of mycotoxins in cereals intended for animal and human consumption.Item Relatório do Estágio Supervisionado Obrigatório: descrição de atividades realizadas no Zoológico do Parque Estadual de Dois Irmãos Recife/PE(2019-02-04) Pessoa, Juliana Lopes de Amorim; Silva, Jean Carlos Ramos da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8705354960174177This work described is reference “Estágio supervisionado Obrigatório” (ESO), accomplished the “Zoológico do Parque Estadual de Dois Irmãos” (PEDI), from September 24 to December 10, 2018, located in Recife, Pernambuco State.
