The lived medical routine is associated with the theoretical content absorbed during graduation and the exclusive dedication allows more intimate contact with the future profession. He was supervised in the Faculty of Agrarian and Veterinary Sciences (FCAV) of the Paulista State University "Júlio de Mesquita Filho" (UNESP), campus of Jaboticabal during the period from April 1 to May 17, 2019 and at the Veterinary Hospital Pet Dream between May 20 and June 14, 2019. The mandatory supervised internship was conducted at Animal Diagnosis Unity (UNI/DIA) of LFDA/PE, in the period between March, 12th and May, 31th of 2019. This internship aimed to improve knowledge in activities related to Preventive Veterinary Medicine, specifically in the scope of animal diagnosis, in order to acquire new technical knowledge which contribute to course conclusion and to obtain the Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Medicine. In this period, activities were developed in areas of serological diagnosis of glanders, Equine Infectious Anemia (EIA) and Classical Swine Fever (CSF); isolation of Classical Swine Fever Virus (CSF); molecular diagnosis of glanders and CFS; as well as leptospirosis serological diagnosis. This report has the purpose of describing the internship sites, followed by a literature review and report of a clinical case of salmonellosis in horses. The first part of the training took place at the Hospital Veterinário da Faculdade de Medicina Veterinária e Zootecnia da Universidade Estadual Paulista “Júlio de Mesquita Filho” – UNESP located in Botucatu - SP and the second part, in the Laboratório Nacional Agropecuário – LANAGRO/PE located in Recife - PE. In the Hospital Veterinário da FMVZ-UNESP/Botucatu-SP, it was possible to follow general and specialized clinical care in Equines, Cattle, Goats, Sheep and Swine from the reception and identification of the animals until diagnosis, indication and treatment. In the LANAGRO / PE, the activities consisted in accompanying the laboratory routine of exams with emphasis on glanders and Equine Infectious Anemia (EIA) diagnosis. The objective of this work was to report the experiences during the mandatory supervised internship fulfilled in two different locations: the clinical pathology laboratory of Pet's House Veterinary Clinic and the commercial veterinary laboratory LabPet, during the period from September 18 to December 4, 2018. The activities of the Internship were coordinated by Prof. Dr. Maria Cristina de Oliveira Cardoso Coelho, professor at the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco – UFRPE and by the supervisor Dr. Ursula Heim, graduated from Ludwig-Maximilians University of Munich (LMU), doctorate degree at the State University of Ohio and director of this clinic. In the internship the clinical routine was experienced, going through all the services offered, simple examinations to specialized in the areas of ophthalmology, dermatology and surgery, in addition to diagnostic imaging and laboratory, among other procedures; all activities are described in this report, with a brief discussion of the cases that occurred in that period. The internship is the opportunity to apply the theoretical knowledge, and allows a real experience in the professional area, complementing to the professional learning and compulsory discipline for the academic formation in the course of bachelor in veterinary medicine of UFRPE.
