The objective was to describe the main topical products currently used for the wound healing of animal, besides report cases associated with the theme. Understanding the wound healing process is essential for choosing the best product to assist the body in repairing the affected area. Thus, there is a wide variety of topical products available for use in the wound, so these products play an important role in all stages of healing, in order to avoid complications and reduce tissue recovery time. The topical products used have different functions, which are: antiseptics, antimicrobials, healing enhancers and wound protectors. Therefore, there are several combinations of animal wound management protocols that are effective for different types of wounds.
