Item Distúrbio nutricional como fator de risco da urolitíase em ovinos – relato de caso(2019-10-30) Anjos, Nilton Tiago dos; Melo, Lúcio Esmeraldo Honório de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8188529271731817This report describes the activities carried out at the Compulsory Supervised Internship (CSI), held at the Large Animal Outpatient Clinic (LAOC) of the Veterinary Hospital of the Department of Veterinary Medicine of UFRPE, from April 1 to June 18, 2019, totaling 420 hours of outpatient clinic activities. The objective was to highlight the functional dynamics of LAOC and the clinical series involving large animals, especially ruminant species. The series was characterized by the predominance of ruminant cases (60%) over the other species, comprising 40% between horses and pigs. Among the clinical cases followed, we highlight one of the sheep with urolithiasis, which is one of the most common diseases among small ruminants, especially sheep. It was an eight-year-old crossbred sheep (CS) with a history of loss of appetite, dysuria and inadequate feeding. Clinically, the animal presented rigid gait, with enlargement of the left scrotum and pain on palpation in the urogenital region. Based on the anamnesis, clinical signs presented by the animal and complementary exams, it was concluded that the diagnosis was Obstructive Urolithiasis, and a literature review was performed on the subject. Regarding the internship, it was concluded that the outpatient routine practiced by residents and professors, accompanied by the interns, provided the deepening and the perception of the interconnection between theoretical and practical knowledge, previously acquired during undergraduate and internships.
