There are more than 100 types of HPV and about 18 types cause cervical cancer. It usually causes lesions and warts in the anogenital and mucosal regions, where contact with them results in their transmission. The contamination and development of cervical cancer can be avoided through the use of condoms in sexual intercourse, gynecological examinations and, especially, the vaccination of the appropriate age group of up to 13 years. Many young people are unaware of the existence of the vaccine and thereby increase the rate of the disease. This study aims to know and evaluate the level of clarification of adolescents about HPV virus infection and its vaccine. The study was carried out in a public school in the city of Recife / PE. The data collection was done through the application of a questionnaire during the class time. The sample consisted of 125 middle and high school students, the majority of whom were between 14 and 16 years of age. It has been observed that most people know little or know nothing about HPV and that they have a misconception about the ways of transmitting the virus, mistaken for the HIV virus. From the obtained data it was possible to conclude that of the adolescents who were not immunized, most of them did not know that they could be vaccinated or did not have the opportunity. Thus, it is necessary for the school and the family to discuss sex education, as well as to increase health education campaigns.Item Conhecimento de alunos de escola pública do Recife sobre o sarampo, sua vacina e situação atual(2019-07-26) Santos, Mariana Pinto Nogueira; Cavalcanti, Yone Vila Nova; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3476206328790443; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0602316525874388Measles is a strong infectious disease and due to its propensity of transmission, it has great epidemiological value. Its high level of severity is related to its central nervous system involvement. The measles virus represented, until the beginning of the 90's, a huge public health relevance, considering its epidemics. With the arising of new cases, it is the role of the health and education professionals to act actively in prevention, stimulating vaccination and information about the disease. Thus, it was intended to assess the knowledge of adolescent students from public schools in Recife. This evaluation was conducted by the use a questionnaire that included questions about students' knowledge related to measles, its vaccine and its current situation in Brazil. As the result, 96% of participants were aware about measles, however, lower numbers were acquired in the following questions, which were about disease transmission, infection and symptoms. Therefore, the data are not yet satisfactory, being necessary the development of activities with the professionals mentioned before for the adequate exchange of information. In this context, the school stands out as a State institution and agent of cultural integration through its pedagogical and curricular practices. Thus, the present research aims to highlight the role of the state school in Pernambuco as a facilitator of access to culture and to understand how pedagogical practices assist in the debate, recognition, and occupation of cultural spaces. To this end, the research was conducted in two stages: In the first, theoretical attributions of the concept of culture were sought, addressed by Câmara Cascudo (1983), as well as cultural contexts and practices of cultural policy, with Calabre (2007), Chauí (2008), Coulangeon (2014), Jourdain (2017) and Simis (2007), in addition to pedagogical approaches and methodologies developed by Paulo Freire (1980; 1996; 2005) and Celestin Freinet (1975). In the second stage, through qualitative methodology, data collection was carried out through semi-structured interviews with public education agents from the Maria Vieira Muliterno High School, located in Abreu e Lima. Based on theoretical surveys and data analysis, it was possible to understand that the school not only serves as a space for social interaction for young people but also plays a fundamental role in the production, identification, and preservation of culture. Therefore, it is concluded that the school, in addition to being a space for social interaction and academic formation, also acts as an agent of cultural integration in the lives of young people.Item Letramento: discussões teóricas acerca a concepção dos professores sobre as práticas pedagógicas da leitura, produção de texto, análise linguística e oralidade em sala de aula, no ensino fundamental II(2018) Melo, Adimilsa Alves da Silva; Silva, Noadia Iris da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3145353361385921This research analyzed how the teachers work literacy in classroom in order to prioritize the axes of Portuguese’s language teaching. More specifically, we try to achieve the following objectives: a) Examine whether teachers work all the axes of Portuguese language’s teaching; b) Analyze whether textual genres are used as instruments for language teaching; c) Find out how often teachers perform activities to develop students' literacy. Two teachers from the municipal education network of Triunfo participated in the study, the teacher "A", who worked at a 7th year and the teacher "B", who also taught in a 7th year. We conducted interviews and transcribed them for analysis. The theoretical contribution to this work is based on the studies of Soares (2003; 2009) and Leite & Botelho (2011)about the concept of literacy; of Antunes (2003) related of Portuguese language’s axes of teaching, and in the reflections of Marcuschi (2005) and Barros (2011) about the relationship between textual genres and literacy. We observed that, in relation to the work with the axes of teaching (orality, reading, textual production and linguistic analysis) both teachers prioritize reading and textual production. While the axes of orality and linguistic analysis were neglected, and the treatment of the latter was restricted to working with normative grammar. With regard to the use of textual genres in their classes, the two teachers favored one or two genres, a practice that is negative, since literacy is favored from contact with the most varied textual genres. Faced with such results, we believe that there is still a lack of understanding of what Literacy and its abilities are. Therefore, it is clear the importance of providing initial and continued solid training for theteacher with regard to work on literacy practices.Item “Ninguém saiu daqui sem uma experiência única”: as ocupações secundaristas de 2016 e o caso do Ginásio Pernambucano(2021-07-19) Pereira Neto, Ivo; Faria, Maurício Sardá de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1513772085737367This research aims to comprehend the school occupations occurred in 2016 against Temer government and its austerity politics that affected several sectors, including education, from the perspective of the students at Reference High-school Ginásio Pernambucano, located in Recife. The research attended the development of the students’ mobilizations to carry out the occupation until the period after the evacuation, highlighting the occupations consequences to the school routine as well the political formation impact to the young people involved in these acts. Based on semi-structured interviews applied to students and people unrelated to the school that participated in the occupations, it was created a chronology's occupation focused on the guidelines raised by the movement at the beginning and on guidelines that were incorporated throughout the occupation. This work also discusses how the relationship between students, teachers and managers took place, along with how the students have structured the occupation, the instances of decision on the organization of activities and actions. Finally, we understand that occupations go beyond the schedule of political combat and create a new perspective of school with student self-management, where there is intense learning about citizenship, political participation and an inclusive perspective of school management, showing how this experience of students was full of contradictions and learning in an intense 33 days as occupants and administrators of the school.Item A nova gestão pública nas políticas de educação em Pernambuco: uma análise dos indicadores educacionais de 2007 a 2018(2021-12-16) Cavalcanti, Matheus Henrique Magalhães; Bezerra, Gabriella Maria Lima; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8954499933466652; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7430908424391567This paper analyzes some results of the implementation of the New Public Management (NGP) in basic education in the state of Pernambuco in the period 2007-2018. For this, we chose to carry out an analysis that adopted, especially, quantitative data collection and analysis techniques. The procedures were divided into two stages, the first was a literature review and the second was the analysis of secondary data. We built a timeline containing the main institutional initiatives aligned with NGP, from the AlepeLegis portal, to assess the adhesion of public managers to this type of management. In addition, we also built and analyzed the indicators of the state system of basic education from the School Census Synopsis, made available by the National Institute of Educational Studies and Research Anísio Teixeira (INEP) to identify the influence of management on the indicators. Thus, we realize that the institutional framework, created by a technical elite of state managers aligned with the NGP, influenced the quantitative improvement of educational indicators. However, when we deepened the analysis of indicators referring to teachers, we realized that, contrary to previous results, the impact of NGP on teacher indexes, when compared to Brazilian numbers, did not show positive results. Item Participação de estudantes do turno noturno das escolas públicas nas aulas de Educação Física: um estudo transversal(2023-04-27) Bezerra, Danilo de Araújo; Tenório, Maria Cecília Marinho; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5822053911842534; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9392370997609182Physical Education (PE) is for many students one of the main opportunities for physical activity. The general objective of this study was to analyze the participation of students from public schools in the night shift in Physical Education classes and to describe the associated factors. The specific objectives were to verify the prevalence of participation of evening students in Physical Education classes and describe the demographic and health factors associated with their participation. The consulted literature included databases such as Scielo, Pubmed, and Google Scholar, as well as thesis papers. To collect the data, the National School Health Survey (PeNSE), developed by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) in 2015, was used. The cross-sectional study presented relevant results on the participation of evening students in Physical Education classes, contributing to the debate on the quality of physical education in schools. 1,208 evening students participated in the survey, with the proportion of male students (52.2%) being higher than that of female students (47.8%). The vast majority are over 17 years old (69.1%), identified as "pardos" (44.0%), and the largest proportion of students are from the southeast region, with approximately 29.5%. Regarding maternal education, 47.1% did not complete primary education. Half of the students (50.8%) worked while most attended high school (95.3%). It was observed that 64% of the sample reported participating in Physical Education classes, while 44.2% did not have classes. Regarding class time, 84% of students had only one class per week. Regarding self-perceived health, the majority (65.8%) rated it as very good or good. Regarding nutritional status, 73% of students were eutrophic, and 95.9% believed that physical activity is beneficial. However, regarding the total time of physical activity, more than half of the sample (72,6%) did not reach the minimum recommendation of 300 minutes or more. Regarding screen time, the majority (55%) reported spending up to 120 minutes per day, while for sitting time, 58.7% reported sitting for up to 120 minutes. Among eating habits, 62.9% of students reported eating fruits and 62.2% reported eating vegetables. State School Luís Eduardo Magalhães (CELEM). The city of Vitória da Conquista -Bahia, according to data from the IBGE, does not have enough trained teachers to meet the demand for education. The art, in this scenario, is taught by teachers with other formations, which makes difficult the work of what is conception of Art and its teaching. In this sense, the teaching of art is now moving towards interdisciplinarity, and the disciplines are closely intertwined, since there is no art without the reflection that it allows us to do and transform the world in which we live. This work also sought, therefore, to investigate the possible practices in the area of Arts within the school. As a theoretical reference, we will take as basis the studies on triangular approach of Ana Mae Barbosa (2010) and concept of art teaching Noêmia Varela (1988). The case study was carried out with a view to the qualitative and quantitative approach, in order to find data that demonstrate a possible teaching of Arts in the school. Data were collected through interviews and a closed questionnaire to obtain data and research in books, articles and other documents.Item A relação público-privada na educação: o programa Se Liga em escolas do município do Recife/PE(2019-12-03) Silva, Jézica Peixoto da; Queiroz, Raquel Rebeca do Monte; Salvador, Maria Aparecida Tenório; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2076591934554686; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9678428589889881; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4524644167438547The paper analyzes the public-private relationship present in the schools surveyed in the city of Recife, from the Se Liga program, from 2017 to 2018. It also seeks to understand the process of elaboration and implementation of educational projects in the schools of the municipality, as well as to describe the purposes and characteristics of the Se Liga program of the Ayrton Senna Institute (IAS). It is also verified the results obtained by the students, inserted in the mentioned program, in the defined period for the study, from the understanding of the teachers involved directly with the program. To achieve the proposed objectives, the qualitative research began with the exploratory phase, seizing information through documentary analysis on educational public politics implemented by the executive power of the municipality of Recife, legal frameworks and regulation and enforcement of the Se Liga program. Observations were made of the teaching pedagogical practice when using the Se Liga program; and semi-structured interviews with those involved in the program. Discourse Analysis is used as a methodology for treating the information learned from the research. Among the results found with the research it was verified in the process of elaboration and implementation of the Se Liga program, the lack of public and previous debate for the acceptance of the same as recommended by the law nº 11.079 / 2004, likewise within the schools there is not a deliberative, democratic and collective decision making with the school community for adherence and implementation of the program in schools. It was also possible to verify with the research that the expected result with the program in the two schools researched does not correspond to the purposes of the program, besides interfering in the school space and conditioning the school management according to the business management model.
