| dc.description.abstract | Este artigo examina a influência da Ordem dos Frades Menores (O.F.M) na formação e disseminação da cultura cristã na América Portuguesa durante o período colonial. A pesquisa analisa a relação entre o imaginário expansionista da monarquia católica associada à concepção de franciscanizar o mundo, resultando em projeto evangelizador baseado na rígida formação dos freis, fazendo intenso uso de ferramentas retóricas e das artes liberais como ferramentas evangelizadoras. A trajetória da Ordem no Brasil é dividida em três ciclos, focando na expansão dos conventos e na formação dos frades. O artigo conclui que os franciscanos desenvolveram uma metodologia flexível de evangelização, adaptando-se às diversas culturas e crenças locais, promovendo a disseminação da fé cristã na América Portuguesa. | |
| dc.description.abstractx | This article examines the influence of the Order of Friars Minor (O.F.M) on the formation and dissemination of Christian culture in Portuguese America during the colonial period. The research analyzes the relationship between the expansionist imaginary of the Catholic monarchy associated with the conception of ranciscanizing the world, resulting in an evangelizing project based on the formation of friars, making intense use of rhetorical tools and the liberal arts as evangelizing tools. The trajectory of the Order in Brazil is divided into three cycles, focusing on the expansion of convents and the formation of friars. The article concludes that the Franciscans developed a flexible methodology of evangelization, adapting to different cultures and local discussions, promoting the dissemination of the Christian faith in Portuguese America. | |
