    The object of this work is BIM - Building Information Modeling, which refers to a methodology used in the elaboration of civil construction projects. BIM emerged in the mid-1980s and, due to its significant contributions, has expanded to civil construction projects. The aim, through this research, is to present the advantages obtained in the use of the BIM methodology regarding the elaboration of projects for building installations, with a focus on electrical and hydrosanitary projects. Although BIM can be used in different software such as MS Project, Navisworks and Archicad, this work will focus on demonstrating the benefits provided by BIM through the use of Autodesk Revit software. At the end, the benefits provided by BIM through Autodesk Revit software will be highlighted, so that it will be possible to observe BIM not only as a useful model, but also essential from an interoperable and economic point of view in the civil construction industry.

    Metodologia BIM aplicada no orçamento de obras – Revisão de literatura

    The budget is one of the most important stages for the construction of an enterprise, because it is through it that it becomes possible to assess the economic viability of the work. The use of different methodologies and incompatibilities throughout the life cycle of a project can cause inaccuracies and negative impacts on the budget analysis. Thus, budgeting implementation in BIM (5D BIM) can offer opportunities to improve the quality, speed and accuracy of project costs. In this study, we sought to present, through a bibliographic review, fundamental concepts for understanding the BIM methodology interface and construction budget. For the bibliographical review, articles, dissertations, theses, congress proceedings, books and documents that address the characteristics of BIM, the maturity of this technology in Brazil and in the world, its use in the budgeting process, as well as the advantages and disadvantages were selected. of its use in this process, in addition to the tools compatible with BIM 5D. It can be seen that the implementation of BIM optimizes the budgeting process, especially in the quantification phase, extracted directly from the model, generating more precision and, consequently, reducing error margins. In addition, the use of BIM provides agile budgeting, allowing the estimator to act strategically by exploring different construction scenarios, gaining more time to analyze and predict expenses that could be reduced, in addition to reducing delivery time, which will impact the project. However, it is important that the models are well developed and that there is integration, communication and collaboration between the professionals involved in the project, avoiding incompatibilities and difficulties in the budgeting process.
