Item A ferrovia em Gravatá : história, memória e preservação de (1894-2000)(2024) Santos, Samuel da Silva; Corrêa, Lucas Mariani; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1710180569222932; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9494876317786573The history of the train on rails that passed through the city of Gravatá from 1894 until the 2000s is in the memories, experiences and past experiences of those who have already taken the train passing through stations in neighboring cities of Gravatá located in the Agreste of Pernambucano. Both the stations, the tracks and the train were developed and built by the British Company: The Great Western Railway Company, created in 1835. The trains left Recife to reach Salgueiro in the hinterland, traveling between the cities: Vitória, Pombos, Gravatá , Calves, Caruaru and Salgueiro. However, the railway structure was deactivated. Thus, the train is gone, but the memories and stories of the citizens of Gravataense are not. For this reason, the aim and objective of this work is to shed light on the memories and stories lived by these citizens so that their memories of the railway as a builder of identity and local history can be preserved. In this way, the construction of this work will take place through oral history using the interview method as a producer of oral sources from those interviewed in the city of Gravatá and also through bibliographic sources.Item A linha férrea no município de Gravatá: caminhos para a compreensão através da memória local gravataense(2024) Sena, Breno Leandro Santana de; Corrêa, Lucas Mariani; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1710180569222932; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8956756157774917This study analyzes the local imaginary of the railroad in Gravatá and its connections with various memories, establishing a constant link between the past and the present. The sounds of the trains and the movement along the tracks, which for a long time dialogued with the reality of the municipality, witnessed significant changes until the track was decommissioned. These changes, witnessed by the population and disseminated over time, end up creating a local imaginary that is not defined in a single unit. This idea guides this research, which explores the different perspectives for understanding the memory of the railway and how they are contextualized, without being unified, addressing different ways of conceiving it. At the heart of this study is the importance of analyzing these elements, especially in a municipality that has a direct relationship with the railway line.
