Item Fauna associada à Salvinia auriculata Aublet, da Bacia do Prata Reserva Ecológica de Dois Irmãos - Recife - Pernambuco - Brasil. (Um estudo ilustrado)(2023-05-11) Ferreira, Artur da Silva; Fonsêca, Francinete Torres Barreiro da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2545929400317612; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1121424769268348Dois Irmãos State Park (PEDI) is an urban Conservation Unit located in the city of Recife, Pernambuco. Besides preserving one of the few remnants of the Atlantic Forest, it includes a Zoobotanical Garden and the Prata Basin with four weirs, among them Dois Irmãos Reservoir, presenting this greater impact of anthropic actions. The macrophytes that occur in this ecosystem are of vital importance for the maintenance of faunal communities, among them Salvinia auriculata Aublet, a pteridophyte that is easy to control and that lends itself to this ecological function. With the aim of carrying out an illustrated study of the protozoa and metazoa associated with this plant, floating fronds of S. auriculata were collected between the months of January and March 2023 at two points irrigated by the Dois Irmãos dam, one in an area with fuel signs and another point with running water and apparently clean. Sample processing was carried out in the Zoology Area, Graphic Department of Biology at the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco-sede, where many protozoa and metazoans collected were analyzed, recorded and photographed, including videos, producing an image bank and information for future studies. Among the protozoans, the ciliates predominated, both in species diversity and in number of individuals, especially the species Paramecium caudatum Ehrenberg, 1830. Naked amoebae and thecamebas also occurred in the Exemplification, notably Arcella sp and actinopods (heliozoans). Among the metazoans, were represented cnidarians (Hydra sp), turbellarians (planarians), nematodes, bdeloid rotifers, gastrotrichians, gastropod molluscs and bivalves, clitellate ringworms (Oligochaeta and Hirudinea), mites (Hydracaridae), cladoceran crustaceans, ostracods and copepods cyclopoids, hemipteran insects and odonates. In addition to a ray-finned representative Poecilia vivipara (Bloch & Schneider, 1801). Such diversity expresses the ecological importance of S. auriculata and the richness available in the La Plata Basin, where teaching, research and extension projects need to be maintained in progress aimed at disseminating knowledge and awakening the community's awareness of environmental preservation. The image bank formed in this illustrated study aims to contribute in this context to future activities in this sense.
