The theoretical framework included discussions about family farming, law 11.326/06 that contains the formulation of the National Family Farming Policy, description of public policies involving agriculture and application of the food acquisition program. The methodological procedures are of a descriptive research, with the application of questionnaires, individual interviews, conversation rounds with families who participated in the PAA program in the Purchase for Simultaneous Donation modality (CONAB). The data obtained indicate that over the years the PAA has grown in the city and has spread with the prospect that the program remains and evolves in the number of participating families, among the benefits are the disintegration of pesticides in production, obtaining a healthy product, free of the risks caused by pesticides both for the producer who has direct physical contact with the substance, as for consumers who introduce the residues present in food, is the PAA a way of disseminating their products and more profits, is an extra income for other families. Based on the results and discussions presented, we consider the search for research on facilitations for PAA members, initiatives that involve more government support for family farmers, especially in the financial cost of travel, the application of innovative courses to facilitate access to knowledge that they need and training that involves access to information technology.
