Item Tratamento de ureterolitíase através do implante de cateter duplo-j por ureterotomia em um cão com obstrução ureteral unilateral - Relato de caso(2021-12-09) Andrade, Cláudio Barboza de; Evêncio Neto, Joaquim; Cavalcanti, Grazielle Anahy de Sousa Aleixo; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3165940085830406; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2816111822261115; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6373796657603477The ESO occurred between April 5th to July 9, 2021 at Animalis - Cirurgia e Clínica Veterinária, in the intensive care sector, and at the Hospital Veterinário PetDream, in the surgery sector. In all, 75 patients were followed up with varied clinical conditions. This allowed contact with different therapeutic conduct and surgical procedures that provide an extremely enriching experience. During the internship period, a case of ureteral obstruction was followed, which was reported in this paper. Urolites can be treated through clinical management (using medication and/or nutritional management) and surgical removal (a more invasive procedure). Urolithiasis can be treated through clinical management (using medication and/or nutritional management) and surgical removal (a more invasive procedure). Drug treatment does not always prove to be effective and may aggravate the patient's condition. Therefore, the assessment and surgical indication can be carried out as soon as possible. The present work had the objective to report the case of a male Yorkshire Terrier breed, 6 years old, castrated, weighing 2.9 kg, presenting signs of hydronephrosis, ureteral urolithiasis, vesical urolithiasis, vomiting, azotemia, and suspicion of infection of the urinary tract (UTI). The patient with left ureteral obstruction due to ureterolithiasis underwent ureterotomy and insertion of a double-j catheter for clearance. The use of the double-j catheter allowed the urinary flow through the left ureter without obstruction stenosis. The quantitative analysis of the urolith showed ammonium urate. The patient is being followed up for late observation of the results, especially the recovery of renal function. The success of this procedure demonstrates the effectiveness of the double-j catheter in case of ureteral obstruction.Item Principais doenças articulares em cães: revisão de literatura(2021-12-09) Cavalcanti, Ana Cecília Batista Arcoverde; Tudury, Eduardo Alberto; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2906155138699806; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4997574410232078The Obligatory Supervised Internship is a subject of the Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine course at the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco, which aims to provide students with a period of experience and professional improvement. The experience took place from August 30th to November 17th in two veterinary clinics in the city of Recife, Pernambuco. During this period, it was possible to follow up 281 patients and about 379 veterinary procedures, including clinical care, imaging tests, laboratory tests, anesthetic and surgical procedures, outpatient procedures and animals hospitalized under intensive care. At the same time, a literature review on Joint diseases in dogs took place in order to add theoretical knowledge on the subject and realize its application in clinical practice during the period of experience in the internship, also contributing to knowledge in practice. This subject provided an interdisciplinary learning process covering several areas of activity of the Veterinarian in the Small Animal Clinic and it was possible to correlate the literature review carried out with clinical experience. Joint changes are highlighted mainly in synovial joints or diarthrosis, which have characteristic structures and are of great clinical importance. Joint diseases are divided into inflammatory and non-inflammatory changes. Inflammatory changes can be of infectious or immune-mediated origin, erosive or non-erosive, and among non-inflammatory changes, degenerative, neoplastic, traumatic and developmental changes stand out. They can be chronic or acute and among the main orthopedic signs observed is lameness and gait abnormality. Therapeutic approaches can be preventive or corrective surgical or non-surgical involving weight control, nutritional supplementation, exercise restriction, physical therapy and drug therapy with the use of NSAIDs, analgesics, intra-articular injections, regenerative medicine and physical therapy modalities of rehabilitation. Joint changes are quite common and dogs can be affected at different stages of life.Item Relatório de Estágio Supervisionado Obrigatório (ESO) realizado na Clínica Veterinária de Olinda (Clivet Olinda) na área de Clínica Médica de Pequenos Animais - Síndrome respiratória em cães braquicefálicos: relato de caso(2021-12-09) Silva, Ana Alice Freitas da; Souza, Daniela Maria Bastos de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4856221548369438; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0811795878631293
