Item Persistência do quarto arco aórtico direito em cadela sem raça definida: do diagnóstico ao tratamento - Relato de caso(2024-03-01) Luna, Ana Clara Leal Morais; Cavalcanti, Grazielle Anahy de Sousa Aleixo; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3165940085830406; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9445911278335294The Compulsory Supervised Internship (ESO) is developed in the final period of the undergraduate Veterinary Medicine course at the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco (UFRPE) and aims to bring students closer to practical activities of interest, combining experience with the theoretical content of the degree. The ESO was carried out at UFRPE's University Veterinary Hospital (HVU), in the area of Veterinary Surgical Clinic, from October 2, 2023 to January 19, 2024, with a total workload of 420 hours. The area chosen enabled me to learn about surgical techniques, preoperative assessments and care after surgery in small animals, adding to my knowledge of the broad field of Surgical Clinic. This report describes the activities carried out during the internship and the case report of a three-month-old female canine patient, who underwent surgery to section the ligamentum arteriosum and was diagnosed with Persistent Right Aortic Arch Disease (PAAD). PAAD is characterized by the position of the aorta to the right, causing the ligamentum arteriosum to cause extraluminal compression of structures such as the esophagus and trachea, thus resulting in a secondary megaesophagus, the presence of symptoms usually appears after weaning, with the introduction of solid food, there is postprandial regurgitation. From the clinical suspicion to the diagnosis, it is necessary to associate imaging tests. A contrast study of the esophagus helps with clinical confirmation, as well as other imaging tests. Corrective surgery is the most recommended treatment for persistence of the 4th right aortic arch.Item Persistência do quarto arco aórtico direito (PAAD) em cão: relato de caso(2023-09-22) Andrade, Leonardo Silvestre de; Aleixo, Grazielle Anahy de Sousa; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3165940085830406; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3031605018678657The mandatory supervised internship corresponds to the discipline taken in the 11th period of the Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine course at UFRPE, with a total workload of 420 hours, with the objective of encouraging the student to develop practical skills in the intended area of activity, it was developed under the guidance of Professor Grazielle Anahy de Sousa Aleixo Cavalcanti and the supervision of Dr. Robério Silveira de Siqueira Filho.
