The Estágio Supervisionado Obrigatório (ESO), a mandatory discipline of the eleventh period of the Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine course at the Universidade Federal Rural de Pernambuco (UFRPE), is based on the practical workload of 420 hours, whose focus is to make the student able to exercise his role by acquiring the title of Veterinary Doctor. This report aims to demonstrate the practical activities carried out by the student Raquel Severo de Lima in the area of Small Animal Medicine, during the period from November 8, 2022, to March 6, 2023, at HS Hospital Veterinário, located in the neighborhood of Iputinga, in the city of Recife. The ESO was supervised by Veterinarian Dr. Cibele Cavalcanti Souza de Melo and guided by Professor Dr. Maria Betânia de Queiroz Rolim. The specific objectives of this work are to describe the structure and functioning of the hospital, in addition to reporting a clinical case entitled: pyometra associated with renal disease in a female dog. The internship allowed me to experience the routine of general medicine, acquiring knowledge that added to my professional training as a veterinarian.
