Item Nutrição clínica de cães e gatos manejo nutricional de pacientes oncológicos(2019-12-12) Albuquerque, Cristiano da Silva; Andrade, Lílian Sabrina Silvestre de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0894888392191039; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7369953469774182The supervised internship was developed in Recife-PE at UFRPE and in the city of Jaboticabal-SP at UNESP, from August 12 to November 21, under the guidance of teacher Lílian Sabrina Silvestre de Andrade and supervised by Veterinary Msc. Roana Cecília dos Santos Ribeiro, in the Small Animal Ambulatory department of the UFRPE Veterinary Hospital and under the supervision of teacher Dr. Aulus Cavaliere Carciofi, in the Clinical Nutrition sector at UNESP, comprising a total workload of 420 hours. During the internship period it was possible to follow the routine of care, putting into practice what was seen during the course, obtaining new experiences mainly with experience in Nutrition with an approach directed to nutritional monitoring, as described in Chapter 1. It was also performed a Biliographic review, associating the importance of nutritional support for the cancer patient. The review aims to understand the metabolic behavior of the tumor and what these changes may cause in patients, and thus provide a viable nutritional monitoring, meeting the demand for nutrients and avoiding serious consequences of the disease such as paraneoplastic cachexia. Some nutritional characteristics that need to be taken into account to promote a better quality of life for patients with this condition.
