(2019-12-10) Silva, Leilane dos Santos; Torres, Avaní Terezinha Gonçalves; Leão, Éder Lira de Souza; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4434499456331867; http://lattes.cnpq.br/689475463515677
The first rapadura mills recorded in Brazil arose during the colonial period, a consequence of the first sugarcane seedlings brought to the country in 1532 by the military man Martins Afonso de Souza. The production chain of sugarcane derivatives is of great relevance in the income generation of family farming in the Brazilian Northeast. The present study aims to analyze how the production and commercialization of these organically produced derivatives occurs in the sugar mills of the municipalities of Triunfo - PE and Santa Cruz da Baixa Verde - PE, as well as the generation of income for the families involved, observing historical and contained in all stages of production. Resulting from an applied, explanatory and qualitative research, the study also included a literature review, questionnaires and semi-structured interviews, in order to extract the maximum information from the participating families. The research also aims to observe the existence of pluriactivity in the families involved, as is the quantity of mills in operation and if there are currently barriers preventing these numbers from increasing. The main results found show that most families involved in this production process are multi-activity, but even performing other functions, the milling period increases the income of these people, and therefore the income that individuals have throughout the year were analyzed. And separately the income from production in these mills. It was noted that the producers who supply sugar cane to a cooperative have advantages over those that supply to the other mills, and also that one of the mills is responsible for the manufacture of artisanal cachaça and has differentiation in practically all of it. productive process, including functioning throughout the year as a tourist spot in the city of Triunfo - PE. It was also found that many factors led to the drop in production of these mills, climatic factors, and marketing difficulties caused by labor shortages and the recent creation of major market competitors.

Estudo comparativo dos preceitos propostos por duas correntes de pensamento: o caso da economia verde e agroecologia
(2019) Silva, Mariany Barbosa da; Silva, Filipe Lima; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0793640526993320
In this paper, the discussion involves two streams of thought or conceptions of analysis on sustainable development cataloged from their references to apparently different economic models, but inserted in the same economic system, which present mediate discrepancies between their concepts, namely agroecology and the green economy. From this problem we have as a general objective: Analyze the discrepancies and convergences between the concepts brought by the principles of agroecology and the green economy in the productive processes that involve pluriactivity, multifunctionality and subsistence production of family agriculture. And while specific objectives: 1) Map the discursive structure of the classic concepts of green economy and agroecology; 2) To structure a comparative framework on sustainability before agroecological and green economy projects. The main characteristics of the green economy are the low carbon emission, efficiency in the use of resources and search for social inclusion. Parallel to this is agroecology, a science (and philosophy of life) whose main characteristic is the production of healthy and natural foods. Both the green economy and agroecological production are aimed at practices that lead to sustainable development, which is explained by a better quality of life.

The present work seeks to show how the income of QuilomboCavalhada, which is located in the rural area of the city of Flores-PE, is generated, since the community articulates itself from production to self-consumption and, based on pluvial economy, it is possible to leverage internal market and expand beyond the municipality of origin. Thus, the importance for the studies of new ruralities, starting from an object of the Rural Economy and the Environmental Economy, is justified. From this, we try to answer the question: What are the articulations and how does the internal organization of the quilombolas of Cavalhada-PE take place as regards labor and income issues. The present methodology is the result of the joint construction elaborated in the Group of Interdisciplinary Research of Rural Extension in Settlements with production of instrument of research, collection and analysis of data realized in a collective and supervised way. The work has a qualitative character and bibliographic research was used as a research tool. The community counts on a small agricultural production of family food of corn and beans and with the production of handicrafts with inputs that would be discarded. However, the community identifies itself as farmers because most of its income comes from planting; however, there is great potential for agroecological craftsmanship, which would consequently generate more income, conservation of nature and would be a more sustainable option. This would also strengthen the local market, contribute to the development of both the community and the region in which they are inserted, and would not depend exclusively on agriculture and aid from the BolsaFamília Program.

(2019) Amaral, Maciel Batista do; Santos, Loraine Menêses dos; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4166590770317390
The purpose of this work is to provide a quantitative descriptive analysis of the amount of contracting under the PRONAF (National Program for Strengthening Family Agriculture) carried out by the Bank of the Northeast of Brazil, in the municipalities covered by the Serra Talhada Agency in the period from 2010 to 2018, through data available on the bank's own website. Additionally, analyzing the inter-municipal oscillations throughout the period, comparing with the volume of hirings by the Program, in the state of Pernambuco and in all the coverage of the bank. As a main result, it was verified that the Serra Talhada Agency - PE was responsible for more than R $ 110 million of PRONAF hiring in the period, an average of 4.44% of the total of Pernambuco, showing its important relevance in the application of the Program. The analysis by municipalities showed a positive relation between rural population size and territorial extension with the volume of contracting, being Serra Talhada and São José do Belmonte the largest contractors of the period. Finally, the study of hiring by groups highlighted the importance of the small family farmer, since, even in the lowest income bracket (gross annual family income of up to R $ 23,000.00), PRONAF Group "B" was responsible for more of the hiring of the period.

(2019) Silva, Kelly Cristina Lima; Souza, Eder Leão de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4434499456331867; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1957054471368523
This work aims to verify how family farming opens space for pluriactivity to manifest in the economic activities of Sítio BomSucesso, located in Serra Talhadacity, Pernambuco. For this purpose, we have based on the statistical data of the Atlas Brazil (2013), adopted as theoretical basis the discussions on pluriactivity and family agriculture proposed by Veiga (1996), Schneider (2003), Shneider and Conterato (2006) and Wanderley ).We also discuss the reasons and consequences of the rural exodus for young workers and the community according to Novaes (2009), Cover (2011), Cordeiro, Silva and Nunes (2016).According to this theoretical basis, we adopted a questionnaire to obtain the results referring to the reality of the community. The analysis had as criteria the concepts of pluriactivity and family agriculture. We also highlight the understanding of the reflection on the relationship between work in the field and school dropout, revealing the importance of pluriactivity activities and public policies to encourage education. The corpus for the accomplishment of this study was obtained through a questionnaire applied to fifty-four residences of the community, revealing information about work, income, education, rural exodus and social reality. From the analysis of the results, we understand that the reduced income in family agriculture, mainly due to climatic conditions, encourages the residents to resort to non-agricultural activities the importance of promoting this relationship through public, academic and social investments.

A importância da agricultura orgânica na composição da renda familiar do produtor do município de Triunfo-PE
(2019) Diniz, Ataine Gonçalves; Leão, Éder Lira de Souza; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4434499456331867
The constant search of people for a healthier life has put in evidence the organic agriculture that consists of a balanced way of production, which dispenses the use of substances harmful to the human health and the maintenance of the natural ecosystems. This has meant that the interest of farmers in entering this niche market is increasing, especially by those who belong to the class of small family farmers, who are attracted by the possibility of acquiring a better quality of life through of this system of production, which also constitutes a good alternative for income composition. In the light of this, this work sought, through field research, to identify the main characteristics of the producers of Triunfo -PE, in order to obtain data that allowed to draw the profile of the current situation experienced by them in the production and commercialization of their products. Where, through the obtained results, it was possible to verify the relevance that the gains derived from organic activities play in the income composition of the families, occupying the second place in degree of importance with respect to the income of the family nucleus.

(2018) Bezerra Neto, Antonio; Leão, Éder Lira de Souza; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4434499456331867
Public policies are planned actions of public managers with the purpose of achieving the welfare of society. Thus, effective planning of policies is needed to meet the needs of the population to provide improvements and development of the country. This monograph is about public policies on Pronaf and Agrarian Reform and it aims to investigate public policy actions in a rural settlement in the Baixio VerdeCommunity in the city of Salgueiro in the state of Pernambuco. It is a “case study”, with descriptive and qualitative characteristics. For data collection, observations, interviews and documents were used. Therefore, to verify if the public policies of Pronaf and agrarian reform applied to the settlement were significant in order to generate conditions of improvement inthe life of the benefited farmers. Inthat regard, the study analyzed the beneficiaries of public resources (Pronaf and agrarian reform) in the settlement, as a means to determine whether the policies serve their purposes in raising the welfare of the beneficiaries.Questionnaires and interviews were applied to nine farmers in the settlement and the main results show that there was an improvement in the life of the farmers from the Pronaf and agrarian reform. Access to Pronaf's credit and access to land led to social inclusion of farmers, enabling them to increase their well-being with access to housing and the conditions to cultivate various crops on the land which raised their income. Farmers used credit for infrastructure work in the settlement and purchase of animals: cattle, goats, sheep. In general, it can be concluded from the results that the public policies of Pronaf and agrarian reform led the contemplated farmers to the improvement in their lives through the increase of production improving their income and access to housing, also, social inclusion through access to land and credit. The importance of these policies workingtogether for these farmers are also noticeable, for they would not be entitled to the Pronaf credit to finance production without having access to land to grow crops.

In recent years, family farming has gained prominent status, especially in the Northeast region of Brazil, thanks in part to public policies such as the National School Feeding Program (PNAE), for example, which attracts food from family farming, generating rural development for the region. The theoretical framework uses the works of Buainain et al. (2003), Schneider (2010), Guanziroli et al. (2011), Plein (2018), and the study published by FAO / INCRA (2000). About PNAE were used works of Almeida et al (2018), Souza (2017), Reiset al. (2018), Nunes et al. (2018) and Ribeiro et al. (2013). The general objective is to analyze the participation of family farmers in the Sertão do Pajeú -PE region, demarcated by the Território da Cidadania, in the PNAE, from 2009 to 2017. The methodology consisted of a qualitative and quantitative analysis of the financial aid of Fundo Nacional de Desenvolvimento da Educação to the PNAE, through the provision of accounts and their reports, in addition, data from the Municipal Agricultural Survey (PAM in Portuguese) and the Municipal Livestock Research (PPM in Portuguese) were also used. As results and discussions obtained in the research, it was observed that the 20 municipalities in the Sertão do Pajeú region have a regular agricultural activity throughout the period and their participation in the acquisition of food from family agriculture for school feeding. In general, the municipalities comply with Law 11.947 / 2009 which determines the use of 30% of the financial pass-through of PNAE to purchase food from the family farmer, however, only 6 municipalities are able to comply in most of the analyzed years with what is determined by the Law. The justifications contained in the reports for non-compliance or partial compliance with the legislation argue that it is not possible to provide regular and constant supplies of foodstuffs, emergency situation (drought), the impossibility of issuing a corresponding tax document, among others.
