The present research seeks to reflect on the processes of maintenance of the practice of bless-ing nowadays, aiming to map the difficulties encountered by the mourners, as well as the fac-tors that contributed to the decrease in the number of women who use prayer and plants in the healing process for physical and spiritual ills. These women, holders of popular knowledge, resist time and the weather imposed by modernity and the family's lack of interest in continu-ing their craft, in addition to being excluded from their practices by the emergence of new religions that corner them and describe them as sowers. and holders of an evil to be fought. With this, the traditional mourners are giving space to the emergence of a new group of mourners focused on digital media such as instagram, facebook and youtube, in addition to the use of whatsapp to send prayers and blessings. Thus, the study will follow the socio-anthropological approach, using the qualitative method whose universe will be the mourners of the municipality of Vicência-PE.
