(2022-10-14) Giles, Ernestina de Freitas; Faria, Maurício Sardá de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1513772085737367; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6218195164578416
This research sought to understand the new social and work relationships that have been configured in the industrial pole of Goiana and the meanings attributed to it by the workers from their life and work trajectories. The Study was developed from the scientific initiation project entitled: The Goiana Pole: The recent industrialization of the North Forest, the new socioeconomic dynamics and the reconfiguration of labor relations, under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Maurício Sardá de Faria, in the years 2019 to 2021. We seek to understand the transformations and new socioeconomic dynamics that have been underway in the Northern Forest of Pernambuco, from the implementation of large industrial units, especially the Stellantis Group (JEEP) and the Automotive Pole in the region inaugurated in 2015, with a group of 16 system companies and the creation of 14,000 new direct jobs in the territory. In its production process, JEEP uses state-of-the-art technology in automotive production, with automated and robotic lines. The recent industrialization of the North Forest has been changing the landscape of the territory. The city of Goiana/PE has 75,664 inhabitants (IBGE, 2010) and has historically configured itself as a rural city, marked by the sugarcane culture, and has been experiencing these transformations with increased pressure for new investments and the reach of public services. With the use of the qualitative method of content analysis, we highlight some questions and approximate indications of the work relationships and living conditions of workers, such as: the common trajectory that naturalizes work since childhood to contribute to family income; the acquisition of differentiated social status acquired with the insertion in a large transnational industry; the pressure in the work process to meet the targets, which harms the safety of the worker in exchange for production; forms of prejudice and moral harassment, as factors of subordination.
