Item Do silenciamento à emancipação: o espaço da mulher na arte ocidental(2019) Morais, Rhebeca Rhayanne Silva de; Paula Junior, Josias Vicente de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8013351027708968This paper is about the space for the woman in the western art and brings the following question: Are still any impediment for the woman to acquire visibility on visual art spaces as muchas men do? With a qualitative approach, the objective of this paper is to bring a analysis on the difficulties female artists faces in western art. As well as correlate its space as artists and the space as inspiring muses. To answer this question, we used the male domination theory by Bourdieu (2002), bibliographical terms on the presence of the female artist in the history of art and the feminist movement. And theorists as Linda Nochlin (1989) and Madalena Zaccara (2017). This bibliography, as well as the interpretation on the literary and the statistical data, reveal the woman still suffers resistance on the institutions to insert them on the artistic circle, even though they werealways part of, despite history doesn't mention them. We could perceive too that the female image in art was used as a tool for determining the behaviour, as a submission tool that does not encourages the professionalization of the woman, including in art. Despite this, we could see that in the XXI century, the woman has the autonomy to represent herself, and does not depends on the approval of the institutions for finding in art a professional path.
