Atuação do médico veterinário na Vigilância Agropecuária Internacional (VIGIAGRO)
(2018) Freitas, Marciella Thais Dino de; Moura, Andrea Paiva Botelho Lapenda de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6414540974581675; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6317020792217386
World demand for food gradually increases as the population grows and, as a result, trade opportunities between countries increase, boosting international trade in products. This exchange of products between countries is directly linked to the economic benefits associated with the globalization of markets. However, this increase in trade also raises the likelihood of the introduction of agents causing human and animal disease. Thus, in order to prevent and mitigate the risk of dissemination of pathogens originating from this trade, there is an active veterinary service performing the function of customs inspection. In Brazil, the control of the entrance of products of animal origin is the responsibility of the Ministério da Agricultura, Pecuária e Abastecimento (MAPA), which acts through the integral service of the Vigilância Agropecuária Internacional (VIGIAGRO), present in the primary sanitary barriers of the country. The Estágio Supervisionado Obrigatório (ESO) was held at VIGIAGRO in Pernambuco, more specifically at the Port of Suape unit. It began on September 18, 2018 and ended on December 4, 2018, totalizing a workload of 420 hours, aiming to understand the operating regime and know the performance of the Veterinarian in the sanitary barrier in primary zone in Brazil.
