In 2022, Brazil suffered a neduction of 2.05 million hectares of native forest, the Caatinga biome, in tum, lost the equivalent of 140.637 hectares. This highlights the urgency of actions to curb environmental degradation and promote conservation. It is vital to invest in research on native forest species to fill technological gaps, meet the demand for seedlings and drive sustainable development. Piptadenia stipulacea (Benth.) Ducke, a species native to Brazil, is a recommended option for recoverins degraded areas in the Caatinga. Therefore, the objective o£ this work is to evaluate the influence of the volumetric capacity of containers for the production of seedlings such as tubes and polyethylene bags, combined with different doses of NPK, on the growth and quality of seedlings of Piptadenia stipulacea (Benth.) Ducke. The study was carried out in the forest nursery of the Forestry Science Department of the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco (UFRPE), from November 2022 to March 2023. Three containers were tested for the production of seedlings: a 120 cm3 tube, a 280 cm3 and plastic bag of 3449 cm3 (20 cm x 30 cm) and four doses of NPK (4-14-8): 0; 2.0; 4.0; 6.0 Kg/m3. The analyzes of height and diameter of the stem were monitored monthly and a destructive analysis was performed at the end of the 120 days. The results indicated that the reduction in container volume caused a decrease in dry mass, diameter and height. Increasing NPK doses had a significant effect on recipient height and stem diameter. For the robustness index, the dose of 2 kg/m3 obtained the best performance. In view of the results, the use of polyethylene bags with the addition of 2 kg/m3 of NPK is recommended for the production of jurema branca seedlings.

The study of environmental perception is of important relevance to understand, in addition to the interrelationship of man and the environment, his expectations, judgments and behaviors, satisfactions and dissatisfactions. These studies provide a unique view of the feelings and values developed by people towards the environment and that directly reflect in the formation of actions about these spaces. The objective of this work is to verify if the socioeconomic classification of the users of two green areas in Recife-PE can influence the environmental perception of these people, what are the existing environmental relations and ecosystem services and what is the reflection on the environmental awareness and sensitization. For this, a semi-structured questionnaire was used with social and environmental questions and was applied in loco with 8 visits, 5 to Joana Bezerra Square and 3 to Casa Forte Square. For data analysis, Microsoft Excel 2013 was used, where data was tabulated and organized, percentages calculated and graphs constructed. As results, differences were found in the socioeconomic issue between the neighborhoods, especially in relation to education and monthly income, however, the environmental perceptions of the target audience in both neighborhoods was positive, especially the Praça de Casa Forte. The presence of ecosystem services was also observed in both study sites, highlighting the improvement in climate, air quality, leisure, recreation and physical activities and scenic beauty. Thus, it is concluded that the presence of green areas influences the quality of life of the population and that knowledge of the social vision is necessary for the planning of actions and strategies aimed at the communities.

Energy generation from biomass coming from planted forests, in addition to being a sustainable energy source, is an opportunity to create a viable alternative to the demand for biomass from wood in the state. Considering the edaphoclimatic characteristics of the region, the scarcity of studies on the subject and the importance of fertilization, as one of the silvicultural practices that provides greater gains in wood productivity, this experiment aims to evaluate the silvicultural behavior of eucalyptus clones in an area of transition between Zona da Mata and Agreste Pernambucano, in relation to growth and yield when subjected to different doses of top dressing. The research was carried out in a clonal eucalyptus plantation, implemented in 2018, in the municipality of Glória do Goitá, on a farm leased to the company BRF. The experiment with different doses of topdressing fertilization (NPK) and the addition of foliar boron applied when the stand was 15 months old was initially carried out with measurements of DBH and tree height in 32 plots with 8 treatments and 4 replications. The first measurement was carried out 15 months after planting and the second after 24 months after planting, to assess which dosage of top-dressing results in better indicators of productivity and survival. Through regression obtained through destructive sampling of biomass, individual volumes were estimated using the Schumacher & Hall equation. The volume was extrapolated to the total area (m³/ha) and the indicators of productivity average annual increment (IMA) and current annual increment (ICA) between the two measurements were estimated. The volume per treatment of the plots in the first measurement was 7.2 m3/ha and in the second measurement 16.3 m3/ha, and the IMA respectively 5.77 m3/ha/year and 8.16 m3/ha/year, resulting in a Current Annual Increment (ICA) of 10.92 m3/ha/year. The results at 24 months of planting show the relative gain in productivity was 28% to 58%, with the maximum gain for the dosage of treatment 8 (250% of the usual dose adopted by the company, 535kg/ha). In statistical analysis by regression, we obtained a significance level of 5% for boron-free fertilization, when we correlated the ICA with the fertilizer dosages, showing that there is a trend of growth from a statistical point of view. The experiment will continue to be analyzed in the coming years and new fertilization with fertilizer and foliar boron will be carried out, to verify if the productivity gain keeps increasing and if the mortality rates remain low.

The work aims to evaluate the influence of different population densities on the adjustment and selection of hypsometric models in an experimental planting of an eight-years-old Eucalyptus urophylla hybrid located in the Gypsum Pole of Araripe-PE, indicating the one(s) that best describes (m) the height-diameter ratio for each spacing. The experiment was carried out at the Experimental Station of the Agronomic Institute of Pernambuco - IPA, located in the municipality of Araripina, with geographic coordinates 07 ° 27'37 '' S and 40 ° 24'36 '' W and altitude of 831 meters. The predominant climate according to Köppen is BSh, hot and dry low latitudes, with summer rains. The data used came from an experiment consisting of three clones C41 - Hybrid Eucalyptus urophylla, C11 - Hybrid Eucalyptus brassiana and C39 - Hybrid Eucalyptus urophylla), however, only clone C39 was used, because it is the most productive. The clone was planted in five different population densities (2m x 1m, 2m x 2m, 3m x 2m, 3m x 3m and 4m x 4m) with four replications distributed in a completely randomized design. Five hispsometric models were adjusted (Henriksen, Trorey, Prodan, Stoffels and Silva). To select the best model, four validation tests were used: Schlaegel fitting index (FI), standard error of estimate (Syx), Furnival index (IF) and the graphical distribution of residuals. In general, it was observed that all models had a good dendrometric ratio for total height as a function of diameter at breast height (DBH), in all densities studied. Schlaegel's fitting index, ranged from 0.8504 to 0.9857, explaining good correlation of the models in all spacings. The planting spacing did not significantly influence the adjustment of the models. The Prodan model was the most accurate with mean values of 0.9758 for the FI, 5.31% for the Syx% and 0.62 for the IF. Furthermore, according to the graphical analysis of the residues there was no tendentiousness in the data. Thus, the Prodan model is the most suitable for estimating the height of adult eucalyptus stands in theGypsum Pole of Araripe-PE, in all evaluated spacings.
