Consequently, it is also important to pay attention to the rise of new religious movements that are constantly growing in our society. Therefore, this article presents an analysis of Discordianism, under the look of the social sciences, particularly the look of antropology and its studies about religion, besides introducing an array of ideas, symbols, myths, and Discordian creeds. To achieve this goal, this article was consctructed through a documentary analysis of what would be the sacred text of this new religio, the Principia Discordia. Wrote by Gregory Hill and Kerry Wendell Thornley under the pseudonym Malaclypse the Younger and Omar Khayyam Ravenhurst respectively, which were the founders of Discordianism, To then point out what in fact chracterizes Discordianism as a religion.Item Hip hop: a contribuição dos rappers evangélicos da cidade de Recife-PE na ressignificação do sagrado e do profano(2018) Bezerra, Erasmo Ribeiro; Silva, Maria Auxiliadora Gonçalves da; Aquino, Rosa Maria de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7663893470581900; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1540473468896261; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0344988958733571The evangelical religious field has been presenting significant changes in this postmodern world and with this the understanding about the sacred and the profane adapts according to the religious demand of the different evangelical trends. Within this context, evangelical music underwent several transformations so that, as time passed, it became increasingly heterogeneous. This work sought to understand how and when hip-hop culture was assimilated by the evangelical field in the city of Recife - PE, breaking with the borders between the sacred and the profane, in order to convert young people. The subjects of the research were three rappers from Recife. The qualitative methodology was applied with recorded interviews and non-participant observation of the artistic performances by the three artists. After analyzing the history and characteristics of the re-signified hip-hop, that was renamed as gospel hip-hop, as well as after studying its relationship with the sacred and the secular spaces, we concluded that the sacralization of this musical genre was more successful among the young audiences of less conservative churches and it was made possible by the role of some evangelical churches and the religious consumer market that sought to legitimize hip-hop for religious purposes. Yet, this process has faced resistance and is still being resisted by many of the more conservative evangelicals. In this context the Therapeutic Communities appear as an important treatment option for chemical dependents. And there is a wide presence of religious institutions that have the Therapeutic Communities as a proposal of care, reception and treatment of drug addiction, having as main forms of action, rehabilitation, evangelism and religious conversion. The Confessional Therapeutic Communities conceive a model of treatment centered on abstinence, reading, prayer and discipline. The present work has as general objective, the observation of the therapeutic and disciplinary procedures of the House of Recovery Christ Liberta, a Therapeutic Community of religious character, in the locality of Cuieiras, rural zone of the municipality of Igarassu, and that concentrates its activities in the service to users , especially of illicit drugs, with the identification of these procedures, verifying the influence of Pentecostalism in this treatment and drawing a socioeconomic profile of the students of the House. The data presented here were collected between August and December 2018, being used to achieve the objective of this work, field research in loco, observation not participant, semi structured interviews and bibliographic survey. The themes of drugs and their developments were explored with a description of the Therapeutic Communities, the laws and decrees that regulate them, as well as an approach to Religion emphasizing Pentecostalism, with a brief history of its origins and its progress in view of a relevant branch of Protestantism; besides the concepts of sacred, profane and sects, which converge around the religious practices of the House. As theorists were chosen Robert King Merton and his concept of "manifest and latent functions," "The role performance theory"; the concept of "Religion" by Max Weber, Émile Durkheim, Rubem Alves, and the concepts of "Discipline" and "Power" by Michel Foucault and Peter Berger, as data analysis and interpretation tools of the research object. And despite the controversies surrounding what would be the ideal type of treatment, the relevance of the role played by the Casa de Recuperação Cristo Liberta was identified, helping the public power to solve a serious social problem such as chemical dependence and its effects, with results that were the inspiration for this work
