The agronomy engineer plays a very important role in the work in areas such as Public Health, which can act in the quality of the food, going from planting planning to the supervision of products marketed in the market, when assessing the residues of agrotoxics. This course completion paper contains the description of the activities carried out in the Agency for the Defense and Agricultural Surveillance of the State of Pernambuco (ADAGRO), in the city of Recife, Pernambuco. The objective of the internship was to monitor, develop and carry out activities and actions, from the area of plant inspection and defense, related to the use of agrotoxics and quarantine diseases. The activities carried out, together with the agricultural and livestock inspectors, consisted in the inspection area: in collections of organic and conventional products (fairs, supermarkets and Ceasa) for analyzes of pesticide residues; going to the properties with positive products in high doses, use not registered for the crop or prohibited products and presence of agrotoxics in the organic products; for defense area were made surveys in important areas of entry of quarantine diseases in Recife (Porto Suape, Porto Recife and airport), going to the properties of citrus and grapes for verification and detection of diseases not yet present in the state; and office work (spreadsheets, reports and articles). The practices provided constructive moments, also promoting criticality, within the moral and ethical-professional precepts. The compulsory Supervised Internship allowed to observe the importance of integration between the services provided by Adagro, as for example, Agricultural Surveillance, and the due care for agriculture in Pernambuco to continue developing more and more, as well as the guarantee to the health of the population through food of higher quality, besides making possible the experience of professional practice, in a part of the work of the agronomist little seen during the course. Surveillance aims at the continuous observation of the distribution and incidence of diseases through the systematic collection, consolidation and evaluation of reports, regulating the dissemination of this information to the entire population. In the health field, surveillance is related to the practices of care and promotion of it to citizens and to the mechanisms adopted for disease prevention. The activities developed provided constructive moments, also promoting criticality within the moral and ethical-professional precepts. ESO contributed greatly to the level of practical learning, allowing us to observe the importance of integration between the services provided by the Unified Health System and the need for attention from new veterinary medical professionals to the concept of One Health, which seeks effort collaborative work of several professionals who work locally, nationally and globally, to achieve optimal health for people, animals and our environment. Item Atuação do médico veterinário na Vigilância Agropecuária Internacional (VIGIAGRO)(2018) Freitas, Marciella Thais Dino de; Moura, Andrea Paiva Botelho Lapenda de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6414540974581675; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6317020792217386World demand for food gradually increases as the population grows and, as a result, trade opportunities between countries increase, boosting international trade in products. This exchange of products between countries is directly linked to the economic benefits associated with the globalization of markets. However, this increase in trade also raises the likelihood of the introduction of agents causing human and animal disease. Thus, in order to prevent and mitigate the risk of dissemination of pathogens originating from this trade, there is an active veterinary service performing the function of customs inspection. In Brazil, the control of the entrance of products of animal origin is the responsibility of the Ministério da Agricultura, Pecuária e Abastecimento (MAPA), which acts through the integral service of the Vigilância Agropecuária Internacional (VIGIAGRO), present in the primary sanitary barriers of the country. The Estágio Supervisionado Obrigatório (ESO) was held at VIGIAGRO in Pernambuco, more specifically at the Port of Suape unit. It began on September 18, 2018 and ended on December 4, 2018, totalizing a workload of 420 hours, aiming to understand the operating regime and know the performance of the Veterinarian in the sanitary barrier in primary zone in Brazil.Item Atuação do médico veterinário no Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS) nas Unidades Federativas (UF) da região Sudeste do Brasil(2022-10-04) Belo, Paulo Henrique da Fonseca; Brandespim, Daniel Friguglietti; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0279327020788151; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7542901372593780The mandatory supervised internship is a mandatory activity developed to obtain the bachelor's degree in Veterinary Medicine from the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco (UFRPE). This program is operated through social security, because when the population pays their taxes, part of them reverts to health. One of the creations of the SUS was the Family Health Unit (USF) to provide primary care to patients in a particular location, and each USF created is managed by a nursing professional. The nurse's duties in a USF are to lead, plan, coordinate and carry out administrative and health activities so that citizens are satisfied with the service provided, but for that, the nurse has the help of the Community Health Agent (CHA) . This article aims to analyze the role of the nurse as a manager in the USF. For this, articles that were linked to the research objective were investigated in the specialized literature in order to perform a more accurate data analysis. Eighteen articles, published between 2005 and 2019, were selected. The main results show that nurses feel overloaded due to the care and management work that needs to be performed daily, the often inadequate infrastructure, lack of materials, lack of training, among others. others. However, they point out that patient satisfaction is their main motivation for continuing their work.Item Avaliação microbiológica da água e do camurupim (Megalops atlanticus) na Lagoa do Araçá, Recife, PE, Brasil(2018) Silva, Maria Karollyna Gomes da; Shinohara, Neide Kazue Sakugawa; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7105928729564845; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5632033938926317The fish are important protein sources for feeding human being, however they can be vehicles of diverse pathogenic microrganisms for the public health. When it has pollution, the environment in which these animals are inserted if it becomes a way of bacteriological contamination, influencing in microbiota of the fish. Soon, if it makes not only necessary to monitor the quality of the food, but also to follow the water of where it was removed. The Lagoon of the Araçá, situated in Recife-PE, is inserted in a Unit of Conservation of the Nature, however, the great amount of and effluent domestic and industrials who receive daily has caused increasing alteration and degradation in the local ecosystem. Ahead to this problematic one, the present study it had as objective to evaluate the microbiological quality of the water and the Megalops atlanticus in the Lagoon of the Araçá. In the period of October of 2017 the June of 2018, water collections had been carried through for microbiological analyses. The samples of fish had been acquired from local fishing in the period of August of 2017 the June of 2018, for determination of the centesimal composition; of the percentage of eatable parts after-processing and microbiological evaluation using as indicating total and thermotolerant coliforms, Staphyloccocus aureus, Salmonella sp., Pseudomonas spp. e Clostrídio reducing sulfite 46ºC (Clostridium perfringens). The gotten results disclose high concentrations of total and thermotolerant coliforms in the water of the Lagoon of the Araçá, being above of the standards established in the Resolution nº 357/2005 of the CONAMA. The results found in relation to the fish are in compliance with the RDC nº 12/2001 of the ANVISA, but we do not have to discard the risk how much to the consumption due to the joined concentrations of bacteria of fecal origin, that confirm the contamination in the estuary for pathogen proceeding from the oustings of effluent. In accordance with the results of the centesimal composition, were observed that the Megalops atlanticus is a lean fish with raised protein text, and that its initial weight influences the incomes of filet, not eatable head and residues. These data assist how much to the information of this fish in the Lagoon of the Araçá and alert how much to the risk in the consumption for the population. In front of this, is recommendable that the governmental bodies search to consider action for the improvement of the sanitary conditions of the Lagoon of the Araçá, especially the adequate treatment of the domestic sewers that affect directly in the dynamics of this ecosystem.Item Biosseguridade na criação de bovinos e sua relevância para a saúde única(2023-02-27) Silva, Clara Rafaelle Cardoso da; Silva, Nivan Antônio Alves da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3505011500604071; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8675807540589033Item Boas práticas no varejo alimentar: atuação do médico veterinário responsável técnico à prevenção da COVID-19 (relato de caso)(2020-10-29) Macena, Camylla Vidal; Rolim, Maria Betânia de Queiroz; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5676854885081836; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9858831950586939The Compulsory Supervised Internship is a mandatory discipline for the veterinary medicine course at UFRPE, which is a moment of fundamental practical experiences in training. This report demonstrates how activities developed at Hipermercado Carrefour Comércio de Indústria LTDA, located in the North Zone of the city of Recife - PE, during the period from March 2 to June 26, 2020, totaling a total workload of 420 hours. This was supervised by veterinarian Sandra Souto de Araújo and supervised by Drª Mª Betânia Queiroz de Rolim. During the internship period at the World Health Organization, the state of contamination by the new Coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) increased, declaring the COVID-19 pandemic, which brought many impacts to a society. In this context, the general objective of this work is to report the period experienced to fulfill the mandated supervised internship; and as a specific objective to focus on the role of the veterinarian as a technical officer in the prevention against COVID-19 in a retail establishment in the north of Recife. In view of the current scenario, a protocol was created through the company's crisis committee with protective measures in accordance with state and municipal decrees, in order to maintain the safety of employees and customers during the pandemic period. A check list was applied daily and audits were carried out in the perishable sectors, management, monitoring and compliance with determinations and adjustments, in compliance with ordinances and decrees required by the state government of Pernambuco and other federal requirements. The legislation brings restrictive measures to the exercise of economic activity by supermarkets and hypermarkets, located in the Municipality of Recife, there is no current course of the COVID-19 pandemic. When any item in disagreement was found, it was noted in a spreadsheet and action plans were carried out through training in the sectors on the non-compliance (s) found. ESO provided technical knowledge regarding the role of the veterinarian in charge of the retail technician, communicating the routine and imposed challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, to promote the safe food trade and public health.Item Características e autonomia dos gestores das unidades de saúde na atenção básica(2019-07-13) Mendonça, Eliabe Monteiro; Oliveira, Elias Ricardo de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3335783352090595; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2264371250191160Item Cartilha de conscientização sobre a febre amarela(EDUFRPE, 2022) Barbosa, Lillian Aderne Leite; Lima, Ciel Silva de Oliveira Veras; Melo Júnior, Esdras Cabral de; Almeida, Bárbara Ferreira de; Vieira, Amanda Mota; Brandespim, Daniel Friguglietti; Pinheiro Junior, José Wilton; Maia, Rita de Cássia CarvalhoItem Complexo equinococose-hidatidose e suas implicações na saúde pública(2021-09-24) Marcom, Nicoly Nayana; Souza, Maria Isabel de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4438209268573845; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6523072892271996Echinococcosis-hydatid disease is a zoonosis caused by parasites of the genus Echinococcus, which are part of the tapeworm groups. Its cycle depends on mammals in predator and prey relation, with humans being the accidental host of the larval form of the agent, called hydatid cyst. The main species related to infection in humans are E. granulosus, E. multilocularis, E. oligarthra and E. vogeli, causing cystic, alveolar and neotropical echinococcosis, respectively. Although there are different control programs, the disease is still considered neglected in humans. In animals, it is responsible for economic losses resulting from viscera convictions and loss of carcass yield in slaughterhouses. Control measures include sanitary hygiene education of the population, control of the adult parasite in the definitive hosts and a decrease in their contact with the intermediary's viscera. Such measures receive great attention from the veterinarian, demonstrating the importance of this professional in public health. Considering the fact that the disease is considered neglected in human beings, the objective of this study is to carry out a brief review of the characteristics of the agent, the disease and its impact public health, drawing attention to its occurrence.Item A contribuição do programa Mais Médicos para reduzir a escassez de profissionais médicos na atenção básica(2019-07-13) Maximino, Marcos Aurélio de Lima; Cavalcanti, Ronald Pereira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8438635944779689; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1096442918151438Item Coronavírus bovino: sua relevância na saúde animal e pública global(2021-10-27) Beserra, Lucas Alencar Fernandes; Silva, José Augusto Bastos Afonso da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9754109726295756; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6178148321524675Bovine coronavirus (BCoV) is a member of the coronaviridae family. It is an important pathogen with high prevalence worldwide. This virus, a pneumoenteric agent, is responsible for the occurrence of three distinct clinical syndromes, described respectively as diarrhea in calves, dysentery in adult animals and respiratory tract affection in cattle of all ages. The presence of this virus in the herd causes substantial economic losses, also, in animal welfare and in the health of the herd. Thus, the objective of this work is to demonstrate the main characteristics of BCoV, as well as describe the occurrence of this agent in other species of domestic and wild ruminant animals. In addition, highlight the coronavirus as a zoonotic pathogen in the context of public health. Coronary virus in cattle is characterized by its enteropathogenic and respiratory forms, symbolized respectively by mucohemorrhagic enterocolitis in calves (EBCoV-CD), dysentery in adult animals (EBCoV-WD) and interstitial pneumonia (RBoV) mainly in calves. Although this agent is considered a specific pathogen of domestic cattle, its occurrence is also described in other species of domestic and wild ruminants, as well as in humans. At the interface between animals and humans, coronavirus is described as an infectious, zoonotic and emergent disease, this agent being described as the only member of the order Nidovirales to cause disease in humans. In this context, several species are incriminated as intermediate hosts in the transmission mechanism to humans, for example, dromedary camels in the transmission of MERS-COV. The role of cattle in the context of intermediate host or reservoir of this virus for humans is still poorly understood, such as the susceptibility and transmission of SARS-CoV-2. However, one of the enteric coronavirus strains in humans (HCoV-OC43) would have evolved from ancestral strains of the bovine coronavirus, which crossed the interspecies barrier and, consequently, established the infection in humans. Thus, we can consider the diseases caused by BCoV as important from an economic point of view, sanitary in the welfare of the herd, in addition to the importance of this agent in the zoonotic context, thus enabling risks to animal and human health.Item Criptosporidiose em ruminantes e sua importância em saúde pública(2018) Macedo, Darlan Rodrigues; Cajueiro, Jobson Filipe de Paula; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1163226949462180; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8208793638612108Cryptosporidiosis is an important disease in cattle breeding, calves up to 30 days of age being the most susceptible category. The etiological agents are protozoans of the genus Cryptosporidium, which complete their cycle in respiratory, urinary and gastrointestinal epithelial cells of birds, reptiles and mammals including man. The route of infection is fecal-oral. The infection occurs after ingestion of food and water contaminated with sporulated oocysts, which contain sporozoites inside. Production animals mainly calves are the main sources of environmental contamination and therefore an important risk factor for other animals and man. The clinical manifestation of the disease is due to the lesions in the gastrointestinal tract that occur through the rupture of enterocytes with persistent and watery diarrhea. Diarrhea is the main cause of death in calves up to 30 days old, being one of the main agents Criptosporidium sp. Cryptosporidiosis is a zoonosis with a worldwide distribution, with children between the ages of 1 and 5 years, adults being transplanted and immunocompromised individuals, high risk groups, where this enteroparasite can cause severe enteritis and may lead to death. However, immunocompetent adults may present with diarrheal episodes. Diarrhea is the main cause of death in calves up to 30 days old, being one of the main agents Criptosporidium sp. Cryptosporidiosis is a zoonosis with a worldwide distribution, being children from 1 to 5 years of age, transplanted adults and immunocompromised individuals, high risk groups, in which this enteroparasite can cause serious enteritis and may lead to death. However, immunocompetent adults may present with diarrheal episodes. Risk factors include contact with sick animals or carriers, together with lack of adequate hygiene habits and basic sanitation. Prophylaxis consists of vaccination of pregnant cows, the use of some drugs that help prevent diarrhea, as well as reduce the amount of oocysts removed in the faeces, correct administration of colostrum and, in cases of sick animals, supportive therapy for the reestablishment of the hydroeletrilic balance and basic acid. Other factors such as parasite resistance in the environment and disinfectants, lack of knowledge by health professionals about epidemiology and diagnostic methods, and ineffective treatment make it a major public health problem in the world.Item Descrição das atividades realizadas no Distrito Sanitário III da Prefeitura da Cidade do Recife e ações de educação em saúde no primeiro surto de lepidopterismo por Hylesia sp. da cidade do Recife(2022-06-01) Lima, Lucas Ribeiro Alves de; Brandespim, Daniel Friguglietti; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0279327020788151; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5705527855056219The Mandatory Supervised Internship (ESO) is a discipline that aims to provide the student with the opportunity to integrate and articulate theoretical knowledge with practical experiences acquired during the internship experience. This course conclusion work consists of the description of the activities carried out in the area of Health Surveillance of the Sanitary District III of the City Hall of Recife and the description of the first outbreak of lepidopterism caused by moths of the genus Hylesia sp. occurred between 2021 and 2022 in the neighborhoods of Dois Irmãos and Sítio dos Pintos (Recife - Pernambuco, Brazil) under the focus of the health education actions carried out. 17 health educational actions were carried out through lectures with slide presentations, dialogue circles and the provision of informative posters, which made it possible to reach a varied audience in a total of 12 institutions. In this way, educational actions stood out for helping the population to clarify their questions, in recognizing their own role in the face of environmental responsibility and in dealing with possible future outbreaks.Item Dieta por quê?: mudanças nos hábitos alimentares em comensais do restaurante universitário da Universidade Federal Rural de Pernambuco(2019) Souza, Victor Monteiro de; Padilha, Maria do Rosário de Fátima; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9689966677422344; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2243107620023048With industrialization, the number of people who have stopped eating healthy and balanced has increased, and with it, the rate of NCDs and their risk factorsalso increased, being considered public health problems in the country. To reverse this scenario, dietary guidelines have been implemented, but access to information and awareness-raising work are not the only obstacles to be overcome by the government, as socio-economic and cultural factors must also be taken into account when making recommendations on balanced and healthy eating. The University Restaurants, located within public institutions, are collective meal establishments that aim to meet the basic nutritional needs of their diners. Awareness raising actions and strategies should be taken to their users to help combat and prevent NCD-related risk factors. The objective of this study was to identify the reason for the change in eating habits practicedby the university population of UFRPE that uses the dietary service of the university restaurant of the institution. This quantitative research shows that 70% of the sample universe interviewed, uses the dietary service in search of healthy eating, even if only 12% of college students have some NCD. Soon the results corroborate the importance of strategic actions used by the university restaurant management in the awareness of its users about how to practice healthy eating, offering a quality service, accessible and contributing to the best quality of life of those who use them, consequently reducing public spending related to unhealthy eating habits.
