A Política Nacional de Saneamento Básico e a Gestão Municipal : o caso de Recife-PE

O estudo teve como finalidade investigar a Política Nacional de Saneamento Básico na gestão municipal do Recife, entre os anos 2011 e 2021. Assim, o estudo pode trazer novas perspectivas de visão quanto à evolução da cobertura de saneamento básico em Recife, com foco nas redes de abastecimento de água e esgoto. Os procedimentos metodológicos tiveram base na abordagem qualiquantitativa, já os dados secundários foram obtidos na Base de Dados do Estado de Pernambuco. Os resultados apontaram que houve, durante a série histórica, uma diminuição na taxa de ligações residenciais de água em Recife, refletindo possíveis desafios na expansão desse serviço. Quanto ao serviço de rede de esgoto, foi identificado um crescimento instável das ligações. Concluiu-se, com a investigação, limitações na ampliação dos serviços de saneamento básico, sugerindo a necessidade de políticas integradas e melhores investimentos para alcançar a universalização do acesso conforme a Política Nacional de Saneamento Básico.
Análise da Secretaria de Assistência Social da Prefeitura do Recife de 2020 a 2024

O estudo analisa a aplicação e o impacto das políticas públicas da Secretaria de Assistência Social da Prefeitura do Recife entre 2020 e 2024, focando em indicadores de desempenho e resultados. Os objetivos incluem avaliar os programas Bolsa Família e Capacitação Profissional, identificar desafios como restrição orçamentária e capacitação de servidores, e comparar com dados anteriores. O período foi desafiador devido à pandemia de Covid-19, que exigia respostas rápidas. Com cerca de 50% das famílias em Recife vivendo em pobreza, a necessidade de políticas públicas eficazes é clara. O Programa Bolsa Família, regido pela Lei n° 14.601 de 2023, foi crucial durante a pandemia, embora o número de beneficiários tenha caído para 145.281 em julho de 2024, devido a mudanças nos critérios de elegibilidade e melhorias econômicas. A análise dos benefícios do programa mostra esforços para adaptar o suporte, enquanto iniciativas como o Gás de Cozinha e o Projeto Qualifica nas Comunidades ampliam as estratégias de apoio. O estudo enfrenta limitações, como inconsistência de dados e o impacto da pandemia. Futuras pesquisas devem avaliar o impacto longitudinal, critérios de elegibilidade, eficácia administrativa e participação comunitária, visando aprimorar as políticas públicas de assistência social.

The growing maintenance of animal specimensin captivity, kept in zoos and sanctuaries, and in Centers of Wild Animals Screening (CETAS), have raised more and more the necessity of newstudy approaches oncaptive animals, as means to reach a higher understanding about the behavioral biology of each species. As such, interventionist actions in spaces of captivity and the adequation of enrichment actions for the betterment of animals’ welfarebecome preponderant. Capuchin monkeys (Sapajus libidinosus) are animals native to Brasil, which exhibit a varied range of behaviors, both individual and social.At the same time, they are targets of capture fromboth the traffic of wild animals and scientific studies, precisely due to their behavioral variety and apparent inteligence. The Social Network Analysis comes as a tool in the study of social behaviors, becomingan increasingly more commonpracticein researches with primates worldwide. The Parque Estadual deDois Irmãos (PEDI)owns in its animal collectiona group of four individuals of the aforementioned species. As a way to understand the social relations between the individuals and the use of the captivity space by these animals, this project aimed for the statistical analysis of the behaviors of the subjects over space and time. A collection of data fulfilled through the counting of seconds of each activityand its specific place of happeningwas employed for the group analysis. Socially, the animals were evaluated via the production of sociograms, net structures that relate actors inside a group and the relations established between themselves. The chosen methodology was revealing in what concernsthe general aspects of the reproductive colony studied, but it also allowed a visualization of subtle characteristics between the animals and the space occupied by them. The obtaining of diversifieddata allowed for a bigger understanding of the social dynamics involved, and how further actions and researches canbe executed, bringing more pointed results in the analyses that have as aim the betterment of a captive individual’s welfare.
Análise do uso das unidades de conservação da cidade do Recife como espaço de educação não formal

A non-formal education comes as a complement to a process greater than the formal education, where the individual must be oriented about life in society. The present work refers to analysis of the potentialities related to the use of the Conservation Units in Recife-PE, as possible environments for lessons on the public and private areas that can be spent in non-formal pedagogical activities with students of Elementary School. The spaces can be considered as alternative for teaching resources, allowing the student to experience the theoretical content together with practical practices. The characterization of these areas is an interaction of formal and non-formal education. The methodology was organized with qualitative data, based on documentary analysis, observation in loco, interviews and conversations. With the raised information, it was possible to structure a ranking based on data such as the possibility of access, security, infrastructure and the existence of didactic support in the place. After the information has been analyzed and updated, we have come to the result of choosing the Conservation Units, which are alternatives of pedagogical activities to be written in the visits to the loco areas, with the aim of integrating Conservation Units and teaching science in basic education.
Análise econômica no mercado de imóveis do Recife em meio à pandemia

The present study analyzed the real estate market in Recife, comparing the sales index before and during the Covid-19 pandemic. The real estate market is responsible for the development of urban space in cities, generating a better quality of life for society, in addition to providing growth in the local and regional economy, as a large volume of employment is generated directly and indirectly. The main objective of the work is to report the effects of the pandemic on the real estate market in several Brazilian cities comparing them with the real estate market in the city of Recife. It is therefore proposed to present the economic scenario by studying the behavior of the real estate market in the face of the pandemic crisis in the years 2020 and 2021 that impacted several areas in economic terms. The city of Recife found a positive sales speed index when compared to other cities, surpassing years prior to the pandemic. With this, the study is relevant for the presentation of information, in addition to contributing to the academic environment through its contextualization on the theme, adding or reinforcing the existing knowledge in the literature on the effects of Covid-19.
Avaliação do consumo do pescado em um mercado público no município de Recife/PE

This is a quantitative research that sought to identify the consumption of fish by the buyers within the public market of the Boa Viagem neighborhood, Recife / PE, as well as the commercialization and conservation of fish in the local market. To reach this objective, a questionnaire was applied to 80 consumers, aiming to identify the sex (female / male), the age of the participants, if they consume fish and what the quantity in kg per purchase and the weekly consumption, besides the identification of the preference for the type of fish, the opinion on the hygienic conditions of this commercialization. This instrument was applied in February 2018, in the Public Market of Boa Viagem. It was possible to infer that the majority of fish consumers do so in an amount inferior to that established by the World Health Organization (WHO). We also identified that meat consumption is higher among subjects over 40 years of age, and that preference is higher for fresh and eviscerated fish. In addition, it was identified that of the responses analyzed, the purchase preference is for fish (60% of the total) when compared to crustaceans and molluscs. Regarding the hygienic-sanitary conditions, it was identified that they are inadequate with respect to the final product presented for purchase, corresponding to a percentage of 72% of the total participants.

This study presents the results of the Obligatory Supervised Internship (ESO), a compulsory component of the Curricular Matrix of the Bachelor Course in Domestic Economy, developed at the Center for Studies and Research in Public Policies for Childhood and Adolescence - NEPIAD / Department of Domestic Sciences (DCD) / UFRPE. This stage was carried out in the Project Socio-educational Actions for children of the Elementary School of public schools, from June to August 2017. The object of study of Obligatory Curricular Stage was constituted of the research titled "Evaluation of the level of knowledge and consumption of children and adolescents on vegetables and fruits versus goodies" and after this stage interventions were developed in the reality found from the research with the realization of Food and Nutrition Education workshops. To promote healthy eating habits it is believed that knowledge about healthy eating is an important condition in all age groups, especially in childhood, when eating habits are being built. The promotion of healthy eating is recommended by all authors dealing with this issue of health, nutrition, home economics and other related subject matter scholars. In this perspective, this study aimed to evaluate the level of knowledge and consumption of children and adolescents participating in the Socioeducational Actions Project for children of Elementary School of the Public Public School of Recife/PE, on fruits and vegetables versus goodies. The research was carried out in the Socio-educational actions Project, integrating 34 children and adolescents of Elementary School, students of public schools, in the age group from 8 to 13 years of age. The project integrates the activities of NEPIAD / DCD / UFRPE. In addition to the research about the level of knowledge of children and adolescents on fruits, vegetables and delicacies, 6 actions were carried out that were constituted as theoretical activities that addressed issues that dealt with the importance of healthy eating and eating and hygienic habits. And 4 practical cooking and preparation workshops. It was verified a high level of knowledge and consumption of children and adolescents on fruits, being apple (44%), lemon (39%) and banana (38%), the ones with the highest index. As for vegetables, coriander (73%), potato (65%) and lettuce (59%) presented higher consumption index. The children and adolescents stated that they know the treats and consume sporadically, this result is attributed to the Food and Nutrition Education activities that are developed in the Socio-educational Actions extension project. The level of knowledge and consumption of children and adolescents participating in the Socio-educational Actions Project was evaluated and there was a high consumption of fruits and vegetables and the consumption of goodies is sporadically. Therefore, Food and Nutrition Education combined with the development of healthy food practices, are presented as effective techniques for the development of eating habits and, consequently, adequate nutrition in childhood and adolescence.

Avaliação microbiológica da água e do camurupim (Megalops atlanticus) na Lagoa do Araçá, Recife, PE, Brasil

The fish are important protein sources for feeding human being, however they can be vehicles of diverse pathogenic microrganisms for the public health. When it has pollution, the environment in which these animals are inserted if it becomes a way of bacteriological contamination, influencing in microbiota of the fish. Soon, if it makes not only necessary to monitor the quality of the food, but also to follow the water of where it was removed. The Lagoon of the Araçá, situated in Recife-PE, is inserted in a Unit of Conservation of the Nature, however, the great amount of and efﬂuent domestic and industrials who receive daily has caused increasing alteration and degradation in the local ecosystem. Ahead to this problematic one, the present study it had as objective to evaluate the microbiological quality of the water and the Megalops atlanticus in the Lagoon of the Araçá. In the period of October of 2017 the June of 2018, water collections had been carried through for microbiological analyses. The samples of fish had been acquired from local fishing in the period of August of 2017 the June of 2018, for determination of the centesimal composition; of the percentage of eatable parts after-processing and microbiological evaluation using as indicating total and thermotolerant coliforms, Staphyloccocus aureus, Salmonella sp., Pseudomonas spp. e Clostrídio reducing sulfite 46ºC (Clostridium perfringens). The gotten results disclose high concentrations of total and thermotolerant coliforms in the water of the Lagoon of the Araçá, being above of the standards established in the Resolution nº 357/2005 of the CONAMA. The results found in relation to the fish are in compliance with the RDC nº 12/2001 of the ANVISA, but we do not have to discard the risk how much to the consumption due to the joined concentrations of bacteria of fecal origin, that confirm the contamination in the estuary for pathogen proceeding from the oustings of effluent. In accordance with the results of the centesimal composition, were observed that the Megalops atlanticus is a lean fish with raised protein text, and that its initial weight influences the incomes of filet, not eatable head and residues. These data assist how much to the information of this fish in the Lagoon of the Araçá and alert how much to the risk in the consumption for the population. In front of this, is recommendable that the governmental bodies search to consider action for the improvement of the sanitary conditions of the Lagoon of the Araçá, especially the adequate treatment of the domestic sewers that affect directly in the dynamics of this ecosystem.
Bloqueio dos nervos femoral e ciático em paciente pediátrico canino

This report describes the activities carried out during the Mandatory Supervised Internship in the area of Veterinary Anesthesiology at the Veterinary Hospital of the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco, from April 1 to June 14, 2019, totaling 420 hours. The training took place under the guidance of Professor Lílian Sabrina Silvestre de Andrade and supervision of the Veterinary Medicine Maria Raquel de Almeida, and was based on the follow-up of the hospital routine of the anesthetic procedures performed at the veterinary hospital. The objective was to highlight the routine of the internship, covering aspects of the place, activities developed and casuistry. In addition, the case report of a pediatric patient treated during the stage submitted to sciatic and femoral nerve block for femoral osteosynthesis, presenting particularities of the pediatric patients, anesthetic techniques employed, as well as the drugs used, is also presented. Locoregional anesthesia has been widely used in veterinary medicine, since it is possible to reduce the requirement of general anesthetics for submission of a favorable transoperative and reduce the use of analgesic drugs in the postoperative period of the animals, thus promoting the reduction of effects associated with them. Femoral and sciatic nerve blocks proved to be effective in increasing the postoperative pain threshold in patients who underwent orthopedic surgery, which is known to promote moderate to severe pain.
Caracterização das moradias em madeira da Comunidade Via Mangue da Torre, Vila Santa Luzia em Recife/ PE

Este trabalho tem como objetivo analisar e caracterizar as moradias em madeira da comunidade Via Mangue da Torre, situada na Vila Santa Luzia, em Recife - PE, destacando os aspectos técnicos, sociais, ambientais e de gênero envolvidos nas práticas construtivas locais. A pesquisa partiu da compreensão de que, embora estas edificações representem estratégias de resistência e adaptação da população periférica, encontram-se marcadas por condições de vulnerabilidade que comprometem a qualidade de vida de seus moradores, especialmente das mulheres, principais responsáveis pela manutenção das casas. A metodologia adotada combinou abordagens qualitativas e quantitativas, com a realização de entrevistas semiestruturadas com moradoras, observações de campo e análise altimétrica e espacial, utilizando dados de satélite processados via QGIS. Também foi feita uma caracterização dos materiais utilizados nas construções, com foco nos tipos de painéis de madeira empregados. Os resultados revelaram que as moradias, em sua totalidade, são compostas por materiais reaproveitados, como OSB, MDF e compensado, os quais apresentam limitações quanto à durabilidade, resistência à umidade e conforto térmico. Foram identificadas fragilidades estruturais, ausência de manutenção contínua, problemas sanitários, e um cenário de sobrecarga feminina no cuidado com as residências. Além disso, a localização em áreas alagáveis e ambientalmente sensíveis, como os manguezais, agrava a deterioração das construções e reforça os conflitos socioambientais no território. A pesquisa conclui pela necessidade urgente de políticas públicas que promovam soluções habitacionais sustentáveis, seguras e inclusivas, contemplando capacitação técnica, acesso a materiais adequados e o reconhecimento das dinâmicas de gênero no planejamento urbano. O estudo também contribui para a valorização dos saberes locais e para o fortalecimento de estratégias comunitárias de resistência, apontando caminhos para a construção de cidades mais justas e resilientes.

This work aims to analyze how the novelties present in Recife's fashion, between 1916 and 1920, are opposed to the traditional models of gender and pattern of the ideal woman, representing both a break in customs and a tool of female transgression. The choice of the time cut is justified by the novelties presented with the Casa Gondim parade, which took place in 1916, in addition to the changes in fashion in the early post-war years that preceded the so-called "golden years". For this, the methodology was composed by bibliographic research and analysis of primary sources, to identify the elements that contributed to the insertion of new practices in society. Based on this, we investigated how the spatial changes and innovations in socialization practices, as well as their influence on the importation and use of new fashion trends, represented a threat to the model of morality that governed the Recife society in the period, reflecting on the representation of the Northeastern male and the figure of the woman of good family. The theoretical reference presented throughout this work helped us in the analysis of the relationship between fashion and the symbolic construction of gender from a binary perspective. The concepts of habitus, distinction, and field in Pierre Bourdieu, contributed to the understanding of fashion as a cultural practice, perceiving its use as a device of symbolic power, to reaffirm roles and characteristics expected in the relational binary between female and male. The concept of gender developed by Joan Scott allowed us to think of the conception of femininity as a historical category, which varies according to the context and power relations of the period. In this way, the transgressions present in the feminine fashion, in the temporal cut of this research, have outlined new ways of "being a woman", showing that fashion, as a cultural practice, can be used both as a tool for body discipline and as a discourse that denaturalizes the moral and biological ideals attributed to the feminine.
Das memórias para história: o processo de construção histórico esocial do conjunto habitacional da RPA-4 na Iputinga

The present work is inserted in the area of housing and ergonomics. To correspond to the propositions made from a bibliographic survey, as well as on-site visits with a purpose of rescuing a history of the empirical bankruptcies of PAC beneficiaries. The problem of social knowledge of research in the development of social development and commitment of the moorings in the patriarchal women in the failure of RPA -04 at Iputinga? The overall goals of the work are: to evaluate the RPA -04 Iputinga Housing Development Social Technical Work Project, and to what extent the measure is consistent with the momentum for UN-Habitat. For the purposes that express the points of view: I -Contact Housing Leadership; II -Building a memory of the housing development studied and III -Raise the time of the work of the social technician in the set. The methodology used was: Qualitative Exploratory Research, Guided Interview and also chose to record the statements. In the results and discussion, they were not considered as working workers, with a high level of education, nor general work / commerce. A negligence and lack of transparency of public power was identified for a population that has historically been abandoned by the state.
Demandas por vagas em Creche: uma experiência na Creche Casinha Azu

O propósito deste trabalho é identificar como a falta de vagas em creches pode impactar a realidade das famílias e o processo de aprendizagem das crianças, tendo como recorte a creche Casinha Azul. Realizou-se uma co-leta de dados sobre a situação de vagas em creche junto ao portal da edu-cação da Prefeitura do Recife e também foram aplicados questionários à gestão da creche sobre o mesmo tema, mas relacionado à Creche Casinha Azul. Tanto a coleta de dados, quanto os questionários buscaram identificar a defasagem atual do número de vagas da creche Casinha Azul, detectar políticas e estratégias inovadoras que contribuíssem com o acesso e a qualidade das creches para posterior avaliação sobre os potenciais ganhos com a expansão do número dessas vagas. Para a metodologia, adotou-se a análise de conteúdo colhido no portal da educação e nas respostas dos questionários. Os resultados obtidos com o presente estudo demonstraram que a Creche Casinha Azul padece de uma defasagem considerável de vagas de creche assim como toda a rede, porém, em um grau bem mais elevado. Por outro lado, restou comprovado, também, que a Prefeitura do Recife tem desenvolvido e implantado políticas e estratégias de combate a falta de vagas na rede municipal de ensino, com destaque para o programa Infância na Creche, resultando essas ações numa avaliação positiva por parte da comunidade escolar da creche em estudo, principalmente por parte dos pais das crianças. Dessa forma, o estudo contribuiu para que a secretaria de educação do Recife, quando da formulação de suas políticas públicas voltadas para a educação, tenha especial atenção à questão das vagas em creche na sua rede como um todo, de modo a atender um pouco da necessidade de cada uma haja vista a influência que é a creche na vida de uma família que necessita desse serviço.
Descompassos no carnaval de rua do Recife na década de 1930: o caso do Quartel General do Frevo

Knowing that there is a narrative about how Carnival is a democratic party, as well as representative of a time where social segregation is not a reality, this article seeks to comprehend it as a cultural manifestation in 1930's Recife, observing the inequalities and social tensions inserted in the city's street carnival. It was necessary to understand the genesis of the party in Recife, it's development and the appearance of Frevo as a locally typical expression of carnival; while also studying it's occurrence in public spaces. Nevertheless, the conflicts that took place on Frevo Headquarters, located at Independence Square, were analysed, in a representative way as to the political scenario in the 1930's modern city. The methodology includes bibliographical revision from secondary reference fonts about Recife's carnival.
“O discurso soletrado no feminino”: o engajamento de mulheres no movimento abolicionista na cidade do Recife (1884-1888)

This work aims to analyze the female participation in the abolitionist movement in the city of Recife, between the years 1884 and 1888. For this, we investigated how abolitionism used public spaces in order to attract the adhesion of various social groups, thus changing the forms political participation. With newspapers of the time and historiographical studies, we analyzed how this process made possible the insertion of female militants, emphasizing the relevance of this participation in the associations created in the context after March 25, 1884, when the abolition of slave labor in Ceará is consummated. In the capital of Pernambuco, we highlight the activities of the female society Ave Libertas, which was created and composed only by women. We brought here some documents left by the members of this female group and journalistic publications related to the activists, which we investigated in order to explain the ways in which the female activists act. From the analysis of these records, we found that female engagement provided a greater discussion about the political skills of women in the 19th century, thus breaking social rules constructed by the expectations of gender roles. Therefore, the investigation uses gender as a category of historical analysis, in addition to the precepts of Social History and microanalysis, observing through the concept of historical experience, the characteristics of different social groups and making interpretations about social and historical changes. In this sense, we verify how the activists for the abolitionist cause collaborated with the studied social movement, contributing in a primordial way to the political changes effected at the end of the empire.

Entre tradições e modernidades: representações sobre a arquitetura neogótica nas décadas de 1910 e 1920 na cidade do Recife

This paper proposes to highlight and analyze representations about the neo-Gothic architecture productions in the city of Recife in the 1910s and 1920s. These were discourses produced by influential intellectuals on the pages of newspapers with wide circulation in the city, at a time when Recife was undergoing transformations in its physiognomy and in its sociability, anchored in the senses of modernization and civilization. From an analysis of journalistic sources, interpretations of the speeches were sought from the perspective of a Cultural History of Representations in order to understand the different meanings of civilization, tradition and modernity in dispute, the consequent practices from these meanings and where neo-gothic architecture was part of these different city projects dreamed of for Brazilian capitals in the First Republic.
Estudo da política nacional de atenção à saúde integral da mulher com ênfase na mortalidade materna : uma análise na região metropolitana do Recife

A Política Nacional de Atenção Integral à Saúde da mulher foi lançada pelo Ministério da Saúde em 2004 visando enfatizar o compromisso do governo com a implementação de ações voltadas à saúde feminina. Apesar disso, ainda persistem problemas relacionados à saúde da mulher. Um dos prin-cipais problemas é a mortalidade materna, por ser uma tragédia evitável em 92% dos casos. Nesse sentido, o objetivo geral deste estudo foi analisar a eficácia da Política Nacional de Atenção à Saúde Integral da Mulher com ênfase na mortalidade materna na região metropolitana do Recife, no período de 2012 a 2022. Trata-se de um estudo descritivo e exploratório com abordagem quantitativa. Os dados foram obtidos através de levantamento documental das políticas públicas existentes para combate à mortalidade materna e no Sistema de Informação sobre Mortalidade (SIM) e Sistema de Informações sobre Nascidos Vivos (SINASC), disponibilizados pelo Departamento de Informática à Saúde – DATASUS/MS. A amostra obtida contabilizou 355 óbitos maternos na região metropolitana do Recife no período de 2012 a 2022. De acordo com o perfil socioeconômico a maior prevalência de mortalidade materna é encontrada em mulheres de cor parda, solteiras, com 8 a 11 anos de escolaridade e na faixa etária de 30 a 34 anos. Percebe-se que mesmo com a criação da PNAISM, a garantia do direito da mulher de acesso à saúde integral e especializada ainda é fragilizada, principalmente para as mulheres que se encontram em situação de vulnerabilidade social. Mesmo com a criação de programas para o fortale-cimento da PNAISM não existe a garantia da realização do pré-natal, ferindo os direitos de acesso integral e universal aos serviços de saúde. Esse resultado mostra que a morte materna precisa de políticas públicas eficazes para a diminuição e combate desse tipo de morte.
