Item Aceitabilidade, aderência e segurança do exercício de agachamento isométrico na parede não supervisionado como quebra do comportamento sedentário em estudantes(2024-02-09) Cavalcante, Anderson; Farah, Breno Quintella; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6914216878368661; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4871147676147788Introduction: Sedentary behavior involves remaining in a seated, reclined, and/or lying position with metabolic expenditure equal to or similar to basal values for extended periods. This behavior poses health risks, such as affecting blood pressure and endothelial function, among other issues. Reducing sedentary behavior is crucial, and there are potential ways to decrease it, although their feasibility has not been thoroughly analyzed. Isometric wall squat exercises may be a viable strategy. Objective: To assess the Acceptability, adherence, and safety of unsupervised isometric wall squat exercises as a strategy to break sedentary behavior in university students. Methods: Five students participated in the training group (GT) and performed isometric wall squats every hour with intensity determined by incremental testing over 12 weeks. Acceptability, adherence, and safety of the intervention were evaluated at the end of the eighth week. Results: The GT demonstrated 60% acceptability, with a 50% adherence rate. No health problems were reported by the participants. Conclusion: The isometric wall squat appears to be safe with good adherence and acceptability as a break in sedentary behavior in higher education students.Item Acesso ao crédito e inadimplência de jovens universitários: o caso da Universidade Federal Rural de Pernambuco(2022-05-19) Rodrigues, Anderson Emanoel dos Santos; Silva, Laurileide Barbosa da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7869325906861017; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0264838490818388This research had the general objective of analyze the relationship between access to credit, over-indebtedness and default of young university students from the Universidade Federal Rural de Pernambuco, more specifically to verify whether the ease of access to credit was implemented after entering higher education; as well as find out if university students had access to financial education. For this purpose, a descriptive research was carried out, based on the collection of primary data. The research corpus consisted of a bibliographic review of documents, articles and books on the mentioned topics, as well as the application of a google form to collect data about the respondent group. The results showed that access to credit depends on other factors to influence defaultness, that young people in the respondent group perceived ease of access to credit after entering university and most did not have access to financial education.Item Aligning expectations about the adoption of learning analytics in a brazilian higher education institution(2021-03-01) Garcia, Samantha Millena Costa; Falcão, Taciana Pontual da Rocha; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5706959249737319; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7221410090403436Learning Analytics (LA) consists of using educational data to inform teaching strategies and management decisions, aiming to improve students’ learning. The successful implementation of LA in Higher Education Institutions (HEI) involves technical aspects and infrastructure and, but also, and very importantly, stakeholders’ acceptance. The SHEILA framework proposes instruments for diagnosis of HEI for LA adoption, including stakeholders’ views. In this paper, we present the results of the application of SHEILA’s surveys adapted to the Brazilian context, to identify the most and least important aspects in the views of students and instructors, and compare their ideal and realistic expectations about the adoption of LA. Results confirm the high interest in using LA for improving the learning experience, but with ideal expectations higher than realistic expectations, and point out key challenges and opportunities for Latin American researchers to join efforts towards building solid evidence that can inform educational policymakers and managers, and support the development of strategies for LA services in the region.Item Análise de crenças e atitudes de estudantes do curso de Licenciatura em Química sobre natureza da tecnologia como indicadores da alfabetização científica e tecnológica(2022-05-27) Régis Júnior, José Josiel; Firme, Ruth do Nascimento; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7234636790850019; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2879033758134136Technology is part of several contexts in today's world, a fact that corroborates the need for Scientific and Technological Literacy (STL) on the part of citizens. The STL includes, in addition to scientific concepts and procedures, the understanding of the Nature of Science and Technology. In this research, we direct our study to the Nature of Technology (NoT) as a component of the STL, and more specifically, to the initial training of Chemistry teachers, considering that research of NoT and Chemistry teachers in training are still incipient in Brazil. Therefore, in this research we aim to analyze the beliefs and attitudes of students in graduation in Chemistry about the Nature of Technology (NoT), considering them as indicators of their STL. We count on the participation of students who attended the last period of the course. For data analysis, we adopted qualitative and quantitative approaches and the following methodological steps: 1) selection of COCTS questions that involve aspects of NoT; 2) Application of the selected questions with students of a degree course in Chemistry of the last period; and 3) qualitative and quantitative analysis of student responses to COCTS questions. From the analysis of the research carried out, as main results we highlight those students expressed plausible beliefs and attitudes for seven of the eight COCTS questions related to NoT, such as technology and the interdependence between science and technology, and appropriate beliefs and attitudes about STS relationships. Additionally, it is worth mentioning that students were expected to express partial agreement with the plausible phrases of the questions and not to strongly agree or disagree with them, as observed. Therefore, the results obtained in this research point to evidence of the need to discuss NoT within the scope of the initial training of Chemistry teachers, from the perspective of their STL.Item Análise de crenças e atitudes de estudantes do curso de Licenciatura em Química sobre temas ciência-tecnologia-sociedade como indicadores da compreensão da natureza da ciência e da tecnologia(2020-10-28) Silva, Carina Fernandes Bezerra da; Firme, Ruth do Nascimento; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7234636790850019; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3349978068322310This work aims to analyze the beliefs and attitudes of students in the Chemistry Degree course on science-technology-society (CTS) as indicators of understanding the Nature of Science and Technology (NdCeT) from the perspective of Scientific and Technological Literacy (ACT). To this end, some questions were applied in the Brazilian version of the Cuestionario de Opiniones on Science, Technology and Society (COCTS) with students of the Chemistry Degree course of a Brazilian federal public university. This study involves a quantitative and qualitative approach, following the ethical aspects that the information obtained in this research is confidential, with no identification of the participants. The methodological procedures adopted were: 1) Selection of COCTS questions; 2) Application of COCTS to students in the Chemistry degree course; 3) Data analysis. For the data analysis, we calculated the Attitudinal Indexes (AI) of the students participating in the research for each of the COCTS questions, considering the categories: adequate, plausible and naive, and the score given by the licensee of the questions by the degree of agreement that varies within scale from 1 to 9 points. In general, students in the Chemistry degree course have plausible, naive and adequate beliefs and attitudes about different CTS themes, the results show that the majority of students who participated in this research have naive beliefs and attitudes about the Epistemology of Science. Considering that NdCeT is one of the essential components for ACT (BENNÁSSAR, et al., 2010) and that NdCeT focuses on the epistemology of science and technology (ALONSO, 2010), students point out weaknesses on CTS themes. These weaknesses reflect the students' understanding of the NdCeT, compromising the ACT of the undergraduate students.Item Uma análise sobre as concepções de masculinidades dos alunos de Bacharelado em Ciências Sociais da Universidade Federal Rural de Pernambuco (UFRPE)(2021-12-15) Stresser, Rafael Lucas; Silva, Maria Auxiliadora Gonçalves da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1540473468896261; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8925219823793143This research seeks to understand masculinities and socialization processes. The work begins with a debate on the socialization process that Peter and Brigitte Berger (1977) characterize as the imposition of social behaviors. Afterwards, a discussion on hombrity models. His theoretical discussion recalls what Connel (1995) said about patriarchal aspects of certain performances of masculinities. Finally, a short conversation about what Santos (2005) said about the university crises and then Chauí (1999) is used to think about her idea of an operational university and university as a social institution. Although direct observation was not possible due to the health crisis of COVID-19, the semi-structured online interview technique was used to answer the key problem of this research: how are the masculinity models of social science students at UFRPE formed? As a final result, it is found that factors such as parents, friends, and institutions such as the military service and the university are responsible for spreading models of masculinity, but the models are not static and are always in a state of reconfiguration.Item Aplicação de técnicas de mineração de dados educacionais para previsão do desempenho de estudantes a partir de dados do ENADE(2021-03-04) Lima, Thacyo Eslley Burgo de; Silva, Paulo Mello da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8976586263200932; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7863661692692517With the increasing growth in data, it is necessary to apply techniques to extract information and knowledge from the set of data that are available, with that comes data mining. Anxiety and depression are mental disorders that can affect individuals of any age, compromising their mental health. This study aims to investigate sleep quality, excessive daytime sleepiness, levels of physical activity, and symptoms of anxiety and depression among students and university students from the Physical Education Department at the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco and high school students from EREM Pompeia Campos in Pernambuco. The sample consisted of 131 high school students from the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd years of both sexes, with an average age of 16.25 ± 0.96, and 92 university students from the 1st to the 8th period, also of both sexes, with an average age of 23.69 ± 3.98 years. This is a cross-sectional study conducted through the application of validated questionnaires to assess sleep quality (Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index - PSQI), excessive daytime sleepiness (Epworth Sleepiness Scale - ESS), symptoms of anxiety (Beck Anxiety Inventory - BAI), depression (Beck Depression Inventory - BDI), and physical activity levels (International Physical Activity Questionnaire - IPAQ). The questionnaires were administered in person at EREM Pompeia Campos and at the Physical Education Department of UFRPE. For the inferential statistical analysis of the results, a significance level of p < 0.05 was set. The normality of the data was verified using the Shapiro-Wilk test. Since the data distribution was normal, the t-test for independent samples was used for comparisons of means, and the chi-square test was employed for comparisons of categorical variables. Data were expressed as means and standard deviations for noncategorical variables and as absolute and relative frequencies for categorical variables. Regarding sleep quality, high school and university students exhibited poor sleep quality, with 71.75% and 77.17%, respectively. The prevalence of excessive daytime sleepiness (EDS) among high school students was 53.43% and 50% among university students. University students reported a higher frequency of active and very active individuals (n = 34/37% and n = 40/43.4%, respectively) and fewer sedentary individuals (n = 8/8.7% and n = 10/10.9%) compared to what was expected (p = 0.000). In contrast, high school students were more sedentary (n = 46/35.1%) and irregularly active (A and B) (n = 26/19.8%), with fewer active (n = 42/32.1%) and very active individuals (n = 17/13%) than expected. University students displayed a higher than expected frequency of anxiety symptoms (p = 0.004): absent (n = 44/47.8%), mild (n = 25/27.2%), moderate (n = 13/14.1%), and severe (n = 10/10.9%). Conversely, high school students exhibited a lower prevalence of anxiety symptoms than expected (p = 0.004): absent (n = 21/16%), mild (n = 47/35.9%), moderate (n = 35/26.7%), and severe (n = 28/21.4%). Regarding depression, university students showed a higher than expected frequency of depressive symptoms (p = 0.003) with absence of symptoms (n = 40/43.5%) and mild symptoms (n = 35/38%), and a lower frequency of moderate (n = 15/16.3%) and severe (n = 2/2.2%) symptoms. In contrast, high school students exhibited a lower frequency than expected (p = 0.003) of absence of depression (n = 34/26%) and mild symptoms (n = 46/35.1%), with a higher frequency of moderate (n = 40/30.5%) and severe symptoms (n = 11/8.5%). According to our results, both university and high school students experience poor sleep quality and excessive daytime sleepiness; however, university students are more physically active and present more symptoms of anxiety, while high school students are less active and exhibit more symptoms of depression.Item O conceito de saúde na representação social de estudantes do curso de Licenciatura em Educação Física da Universidade Federal Rural de Pernambuco(2022-06-03) Toledo, Gerlaine Alves; Lindoso, Rosângela Cely Branco; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3076590717855221In order to research the Social Representation of students of the Degree in Physical Education at the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco, this research was used as a database for texts published between the years 2012 and 2021 on the Scielo website. Searches were made with the descriptors Physical Education and Health and found 12 works previously selected during the research, with relevant parameters to contribute to the understanding of how the concept of health is found in society and understanding of the objective of this study. The results were included in an elaborate table, identifying the authors, the type, objectives, results and year of publication of the work. For the survey of the Social Representation of the concept of Health of the students of the Degree in Physical Education at UFRPE, a questionnaire was prepared, which could not be applied in person because of maintaining social distance as a preventive measure caused by the Pandemic caused by Covid-19. 19. So, for this reason, the questionnaire was applied online through the Google Forms platform, using the Free Word Association method containing 6 questions; being 3 for personal identification and 3 related to understanding about health. The questionnaire was disseminated in the course students' WhatsApp groups, resulting in a number of 37 volunteers. And as a result, it was possible to perceive a greater number of answers obtained by the students of the 1st, 2nd and 3rd period, which resulted in a relationship between health more focused on food. In order to understand this result, it must be taken into account that the answers of students in the first periods are still based on common sense and knowledge is a progression that is obtained throughout the graduation. Based on this result, a new research is indicated in the final periods of the course with these same volunteers from the 3 initial periods, for a more satisfactory survey of the research, with the deconstruction of common sense and with a more scientific basis.Item Correlação entre a qualidade do sono e o nível de atividade física em estudantes universitários(2019) Monte, Jéssica do Carmo Anjos do; Lima, Anna Myrna Jaguaribe de; Silva, Aurea Letícia Gomes da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4368077040588552; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6743434574905339; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4770348637819580Poor sleep quality can have consequences for students' health and academic development, and, coupled with a low level of physical activity, may be related to an increased risk of premature death from heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and increased health problems. anxiety and depression. Accepting high academic demands, or the scenario experienced by most college students can contribute to a reduction in the level of physical activity and impairment of sleep quality. Thus, the study aims to correlate sleep quality and physical activity level in college students. One sample consisted of 56 (fifty-six) university students from the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco, of both sexes, with an average age of 25.5 ± 5.9 years. The students were evaluated at the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco, and the instruments used in the collection were the following questionnaires: Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI): for sleep quality assessment and the International Physical Activity Questionnaire, short version (IPAQ - short version): for assessment of the level of physical activity. According to the results, 82% of students were rated poor sleep quality and 43% were rated very active. However, there was no association between the level of physical activity and the students' sleep quality (r = 0.14; p> 0.05). Thus, we can conclude that there is no association between sleep quality and physical activity level in college students, still mostly in students who are classified as very active or active, and have a poor quality of sleep. , a cause of poor sleep quality is multifactorial, other factors may compromise the sleep quality of these students. This way, it is suggested that future research be carried out to identify the main causes and factors that negatively affect sleep quality, and projects that are subjected to research on encouragement, promotion and adequacy of sleep and regularly exercise.Item Diagnóstico da saúde mental e bem-estar de estudantes do IFPE-Campus Recife sob influência do ensino de biologia(2019-12-03) Carvalho, Isabela Vieira de; Silva, Flávia Carolina Lins da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7547725170997480; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6131401598981466Many studies on the mental health of college students are conducted due to the overloaded system of education they are exposed to. However, there is a gap in the academy about these parameters in basic education, especially when it is an unconventional institution such as federal institutes that have a modality of education that integrates high school with the technical subjecting students to an equal or even more reality. overloaded than that of universities. With this, the present work aimed to make a diagnosis about the mental health and well-being of the students of the initial modules for probing parameters such as sleep and eating, and the exposure to the triggers of stress and anxiety, contributing data of this theme to the gym and proposing pedagogical intervention proposals for these issues. The study revealed that more than 60% of the study population claimed to encounter triggers of extreme stress and depression, in addition to falling sleep and food quality by more than 20% after joining IFPE-Campus Recife. In addition, the applied questionnaire helped to trace the institution's positive and negative points so that intervention proposals could be customized to fit the reality of the campus. The most vulnerable to the appeal of advertising are children and young people, many of them in school and others entering higher education, but not always financially educated. This research aimed to investigate the indebtedness among young university students at UFRPE and the ways of accessing Financial Education. The work was developed by a methodology conducted through a qualitative and quantitative research through a survey carried out among young people from different courses of the Higher Education Institution during the month of August 2020, where the data were collected through an electronic questionnaire. applied to a sample composed of 81 enrolled students. To meet the general objective, several variables were used for the analysis, such as the socioeconomic profile, the experiences with Financial Education before and after entering higher education, the consumption profile, the behaviors in relation to finance, among others. As a result, the research identified that despite the pandemic of COVID-19, it appears that young university students at UFRPE are not very prone to debt, or at least in their perception, most do not consider themselves indebted. Of those who consider themselves indebted and also over-indebted (27.2% and 11.1%, respectively), the most common type of debt is the credit card (51.9%). It was generally perceived that students consider it important for UFRPE to have courses and lectures on financial education, as forms of access to knowledge.Item Engajamento discente em tempos de pandemia: uma análise junto aos estudantes da Unidade Acadêmica de Serra Talhada da Universidade Federal Rural de Pernambuco(2021-07-15) Lima, Emilly Soares Leite de; Carneiro, Jailson Santana; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0403978206266328; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2000247286290907Entry into higher education is a moment of change for the student, therefore, encouraging actions that enable the student to engage with the course and the institution is extremely important, especially in view of this new reality imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic . This article aims to analyze the engagement of students at the Serra Talhada Academic Unit during the pandemic period. The methodology used in this article has an exploratory purpose, as well as a quantitative approach. To carry out the data collection, an online form was developed and analyzed using Microsoft Excel. Note that the data obtained present moderate, high and very high values, both analyzing each category separately and also the intersection with social and demographic variables. It is noticed that even with the adaptation of in-person to remote teaching, students remain engaged with the course and the educational institution, even with difficulties in their daily lives.Item Estudantes universitários e ensino remoto: impactos provocados à saúde mental durante a pandemia de COVID-19(2024-03-11) Freitas, Anne Elise Alves de; Lindoso, Rosângela Cely Branco; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3076590717855221; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9158087822068202Studies and reports state that university students are a population with a high prevalence of depression, anxiety and high levels of stress during the COVID-19 pandemic. This fact has sparked growing interest in possible relationships between academic experiences and mental health. In this context, the main objective of this research was to investigate the impacts caused on the mental health of Physical Education students at the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco (UFRPE) caused by emergency remote teaching ERE, as well as the facilitating and hindering aspects of the new method of teaching, the negative and positive impacts of remote classes associated with the learning process and the consequences caused to students' mental health. The research had a qualitative-quantitative approach and was constructed through bibliographic and exploratory research. Data were collected through a questionnaire administered online. The results obtained were a total of 36 responses and the participants were undergraduates who were between the fourth and eighth semester, deprioritized and graduated (completed). This research contributes to the investigation of the aspects and impacts of ERE that were relevant in the graduation of students from the Physical Education course at UFRPE. The results demonstrate a statistically significant negative impact on factors associated with mental health, academic achievement and the impacts of emergency remote teaching on academic experiences during the pandemic.
