The Mandatory Supervised Internship (ESO) is an important phase that represents the final experience of the student in the Veterinary Medicine course. It is the last mandatory subject, corresponding to the 11th semester of the undergraduate program, comprising 420 hours of workload. Therefore, the student chose to complete the internship with 8-hour daily shifts, from November 11, 2024, to January 31, 2025, at two different locations: Clínica Veterinarii, located in the Graças neighborhood (Recife, PE), and Afetto Centro Médico Veterinário, in the Jardins neighborhood (Aracaju, SE). During this period, the student was able to observe clinical consultations, specialized consultations in nephrology and urology, endocrinology, dermatology, ophthalmology, pulmonology, oncology, and physiotherapy. Hence, this is an experience of utmost importance for acquiring knowledge and skills through the daily observation of the veterinary professional. This internship enables the student to be better prepared for the job market and become more competent.

This work aims to describe the activities carried out during the Mandatory Supervised Internship (ESO), in the area of Clinical Medicine with a focus on Veterinary Dermatology. Divided into two parts, the first developed at the Experimental Laboratory of Chemotherapy in Veterinary Parasitology (LEQPV), under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Júlio Israel Fernandes and the second, at the Univet Barra Veterinary Clinic, under the supervision of M. V Roberto dos Santos Teixeira, under guidance from Prof. Dr. Edna Michelly de Sá Santos. Both sites are located in the state of Rio de Janeiro and were carried out from April 8, 2024 to June 21, 2024, totaling 420 hours. The activities carried out were monitoring and assistance in consultations, carrying out low-complexity procedures, collaboration in the imaging sector and infirmary. This report describes the characteristics and case studies of the locations during the internship period. It will also report a case of lesion in the nasal plane in a dog with visceral leishmaniasis, of no defined breed, 5 years old, male, castrated, 11k, which in the nasal mirror presented an erythematous, non-pruritic, depigmented, ulcerated lesion, with loss of architecture and hyperkeratosis, caused by a probable immune-mediated action of Leishmaniasis.

Megaesophagus is a pathology characterized by generalized esophageal dilatation and hypoperistalism, which may be of congenital, idiopathic or secondary acquired origin. The main species affected is the canine, possibly having a predilection for some breeds of dogs, but it has also been described in felines, cattle, ferrets, equines and camelids of the new world. In this work is described a case report of congenital megaesophagus in a canine, with 51 days, having a history of emesis, emaciation, underdevelopment and dyspnea after the introduction of solid feed. Anamnesis, physical examination and imaging tests were performed in order to obtain the diagnosis. After the treatment, the animal presented improvement on its clinical condition. This case was watched over the period of mandatory supervised internship at Unesp-Botucatu from October 2 to November 30, 2018.

Osteosarcoma is a malignant bone tumor with a poor prognosis. Clinical signs vary depending on the site of location and diagnosis is based on history, physical examination, imaging findings and histopathological confirmation. The present article aims to describe a case of complete remission of osteoblastic osteosarcoma in the axial skeleton of a canine. The patient was reassessed 12 months after the initial diagnosis, with no possible metastases. The therapeutic protocol instituted was surgical excision, with histopathological evaluation of the margins during the transsurgical procedure and subsequent use of chemotherapy as an adjuvant therapy.

O trabalho aborda a Anomalia de Ebstein, condição que afeta o funcionamento valvular cardíaco; tal anomalia é relativamente rara, acometendo cerca de 1% de todas as cardiopatias congênitas. Seu diagnóstico envolve a observação de sinais clínicos clássicos e comuns a cardiopatias, bem como exames específicos a fim de se fechar o diagnóstico da anomalia em questão. Este trabalho está dividido em duas partes, a saber I e II, em que na primeira há a delimitação e caracterização do local de estágio, constando de fotos para correta identificação, e na segunda parte há a revisão de literatura (em que deu-se maior enfoque às valvas cardíacas, sobretudo à displasia valvar tricúspide e a anomalia de Ebstein) em que se discute a anatomia cardíaca e seus detalhes relevantes à discussão, a sinais clínicos, bem como seu diagnóstico. Segue-se então uma discussão do prognóstico, uma vez diagnosticadas as patologias, e como proceder em seu manejo. O trabalho encerra com uma apresentação e discussão de caso clínico de displasia valvar tricúspide e anomalia de Ebstein em canino, fêmea da raça Pitbull, observado in loco da realização do estágio.

The objective of this work was to describe the activities developed during the Mandatory Supervised Internship (ESO), carried out in the area of Veterinary Anesthesiology, which was divided into two stages, where the first took place under the supervision of the independent professional M.V Mariana Pontes, veterinary anesthetist, and the second, under the supervision of M.V Thaygo Marçal, under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Edna Michelly de Sá Santos. The internship was carried out from May 29, 2023 to August 11, 2023, totaling 420 hours. The report describes the characteristics of the location chosen for the reported case, in addition to the series of patients followed up during the period. A case of ultrasound-guided block on the lateral aspect of the quadratus lumborum muscle (QL-block) using the transverse approach (LQL-T) to provide visceral analgesia in a feline undergoing splenectomy surgery using 0.25 bupivacaine was also reported. %. No nociceptive signs were observed during surgery, parameters were within normal limits and post-operative pain was assessed using the UNESP-Botucatu multidimensional scale for assessing acute post-operative pain in cats, leading to the conclusion that the QL-block is a good option. for feline species, promoting good visceral abdominal analgesia.

The objective of this work was to describe the activities developed during the Mandatory Supervised Internship (ESO), carried out in the field of medical area, which was divided into two stages, where the first took place at the Clínica Cirúrgica Veterinária Thiago Zacarias, under the supervision of M.V Débora Mirelly Sobral da Silva and the second, at Clínica Veterinarii, under the supervision of M.V Luana Mirela de Sales Pontes, under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Edna Michelly de Sá Santos. Both clinics are located in the city of Recife-PE and the internship was carried out from November 7, 2022 to January 20, 2023, totaling 420 hours. The activities consisted of accompanying clinical and specialized consultations, assistance with outpatient procedures, hospitalization routine, animal handling and assistance with completing anamnesis and medication prescriptions. The report describes the characteristics of the sites, in addition to the number of patients followed up during the period. We also report the case of a non-epitheliotropic cutaneous lymphoma in a canine pinscher, female, 5 years and 11 months old, with leishmaniasis, which presented the presence of nodular, erythematous and pruritic neoformations in multifocal areas. of the body, obtaining a conclusive diagnosis through histopathological examination.

The present paper describes the activities developed in the Mandatory Supervised Internship, in the area of endocrinology and metabolism of small animals at “Clínica Veterinária Canis e Catus Especialidades”, Lagoa Nova - Natal - RN and in autonomous veterinary care in the cities of Parnamirim, Natal and Mossoró, which is required to obtain a Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Medicine, made under the supervision of veterinarian Kamylla Moura Gadêlha and guidance of Prof. Dr. Edna Michelly de Sá Santos. The internship was carried out from July 1, 2022 to September 16, 2022, totalizing 420 hours. The activities consisted in monitoring clinical and endocrinological consultations, assisting in procedures, monitoring surgeries, handling samples in the laboratory and solving exercises within the topics covered in routine. In this report are described the characteristics of the establishment, the statistics of the medical consultations and the report of a case of typical primary hypoadrenocorticism.

This work aims to describe the activities developed during the Mandatory Supervised Internship (ESO), carried out in the Small Animal Medical Clinic area, which was divided into two stages, where the first took place at the University Veterinary Hospital of UFRPE, under supervision of M.V Paula Gabriela da Silva Cardoso and the second, at Clínica Veterinarii, under the supervision of M.V Isabela Gilena Lins dos Santos, under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Edna Michelly de Sá Santos. Both clinics are located in the city of Recife-PE and the internship was carried out from May 29, 2023 to August 14, 2023, totaling 420 hours. The activities consisted of accompanying clinical and specialized consultations, assistance in outpatient procedures and in the hospitalization routine, assistance in completing anamnesis, forms and medication prescriptions. The report describes the characteristics of the sites, in addition to the number of patients followed up during the period. A case of exocrine pancreatic insufficiency is also reported, in a canine, SRD, male, 4 years old, which presented progressive weight loss, steatorrhea and coprophagia, obtaining the conclusive diagnosis for EPI from the measurement of canine trypsin-like immunoreactivity (cTLI).

The mandatory supervised internship report aims to present the activities carried out at the Agricultural Defense and Inspection Agency of Pernambuco (ADAGRO) and at the Small Animal Medical Clinic of the Pet Dream Veterinary Hospital, from March 2 to April 17, 2020 (total of 216 hours) and from August 20 to October 2, 2020 (204 hours), respectively, adding the 420 hours required by the discipline. In this first period, the internship was aimed at monitoring inspections in establishments that sell Products of Animal Origin, in the sense of enforcing normative requirements that aim at food quality and safety, analysis of standards and construction sketches and reforms for adaptation establishments to the standard. In the second stage, during an internship at the Veterinary Hospital Pet Dream, the routine of the medical clinic and the emergence of small animals was monitored in 170 canine and 58 feline visits. The internship broadened the view regarding the veterinarian's role and added more experiences in the medical field of small animals, making it possible to corroborate some theoretical knowledge acquired during graduation, which is fundamental for the beginning of professional life. In addition, the report is also intended to report a case of feline polyarthritis with FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus). It is a rescued, mixed breed cat, 5 kg, male, not neutered, with access to the street, initial complaint of pain, lameness of the left chest member, fever and, with approximately one month, prostration, hyperthermia, anorexia, weight loss, dehydration, severe pain, temperature increase and edema in the left thoracic limb, left pelvic limb and spine joints. The blood count showed leukocytosis, lymphopenia and neutrophilia, with a shift to the left, and, the biochemical, an increase in gammaglutamyltransferase. Radiography showed a slight increase in soft tissue opacity in the region of the left humerus, the main differential (inflammation). In the immunochromatographic test, anti-FIV antibody was detected. The animal did fluid therapy. The established treatment was clindamycin, meloxican, tramadol, interferon alfa-2a and supplement, orally. In eight days, the blood count was within normal standards and the animal walked. After a few more days, the biochemist normalized, the cat stopped limping completely and was discharged under supervision. The rapid response to conservative therapy and the clinical improvement of the animal suggest that the condition of polyarthritis may have been related to infection with IVF.

The Mandatory Supervised Internship is a mandatory subject of the eleventh period of the Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Medicine at the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco, which is based on practical experience in a certain sub-area of Veterinary Medicine, for which the chosen one was the Medical Clinic of Little animals. In this sense, this report is divided into two chapters, with the first chapter aiming to describe the Mandatory Supervised Internship, its experience, and case series in the small animal clinic, being divided between the Veterinary Hospital of the Federal University of Pernambuco and the Veterinarii Clinic, from 05/29/2023 to 08/11/2023, totaling 424 hours. The second chapter aims to carry out a literature review on canine Dermatomyositis.

O estágio foi realizado sob supervisão das Médicas Veterinárias Ana Valéria Calderón e Charlene Longhi na área de Clínica Médica de Pequenos Animais. Sob orientação da Professora Dr. Edna Michelly de Sá, o presente relatório tem como finalidade descrever atividades desenvolvidas durante o período de 18 de setembro de 2018 a 10 de janeiro de 2019, totalizando 420 horas, apresentando o funcionamento e estrutura local e as atividades desenvolvidas durante o período citado. Foram acompanhados 395 animais provenientes de clientes particulares e 24 provenientes do canil da PETLAND. A realização do estágio curricular é, sem dúvidas, de suma importância para a formação profissional, pois é durante este período que se pode aliar teoria, conhecimento técnico à prática, adquirir novos conhecimentos e observar a conduta profissional de diversos profissionais.

Lymphoma is a malignant neoplasm of hematopoietic origin that affects dogs and cats. Cutaneous lymphoma is divided from its tropism to the epithelium and only 3 to 8% of animals are affected with this neoplasm. This article describes a case report of a nine-year-old Argentine Dogo affected by cutaneous epitheliotropic lymphoma in cushions. The patient had ulcerations, erythema and nodules in the limbs with rapid evolution, in addition to severe itching throughout the body, chronic otitis and excessive leg licking. After the diagnosis, she underwent chemotherapy with Lomustine 70mg / m² and Prednisone 2mg / kg, following the guidelines in the literature. Due to a neoplasm in a cushion with bone involvement, amputation of the limb was performed and it died 48 hours after the procedure due to septic shock.
