Despite the various social advances, through research we noticed that people with hearing impairment still encounter barriers in terms of accessibility in the labor market and in society as a whole (streets, shops, public agencies and others). This research aims to develop a theoretical and practical study on the main difficulties faced by the hearing impaired after entering the public sector in the municipalities of Carpina, Nazaré da Mata, Timbaúba and Recife, belonging to the state of Pernambuco. From the analysis of data from this research, it is also noticed that few hearing impaired people managed to enter the job market in the public sector, including this was one of the difficulties of the research since the number of deaf people interviewed was relatively low. The work aims to contribute to the opening of the debate regarding accessibility for the hearing impaired.
