(2024-09-25) Santos, Tamires Bezerra dos; Lima, Tayara Soares de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3100045021780173; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6454256385388205
The present work refers to the Mandatory Supervised Internship (ESO), carried out at the company Guaraves, located in Guarabira, Paraíba, from April to June 2024. The internship was supervised by Dr. Tayara Soares de Lima and veterinarian Angelo Rios . The activities developed included the company's production processes, from the creation of matrices to the marketing of products. The main activities took place in the company's hatchery, located at Rua do Matadouro, Zona Rural, Sertãozinho-PB, 58268-000. During this period, it was possible to experience in practice the different stages of the operation of a large poultry company.

The literature indicates that the use of performance-enhancing additives in the utilization of dietary nutrients makes it possible to achieve better production rates. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of adding zeolite to diets with two levels of crude protein (3% below and at requirement) on the metabolizability of dry matter (DM), crude protein (CP) and crude energy, as well as determining the apparent metabolizable energy (AME) and apparent metabolizable energy corrected for nitrogen (AMEn) of the experimental rations in the different phases of broiler chickens (1 to 7, 8 to 21, 22 to 35 and 36 to 42 days). 720 1-day-old male Ross broiler chicks were housed in a completely randomized design in a 4x2 factorial scheme, with four levels of Celpec zeolite (0; 1.0; 2.0 and 3.0%) and 2 levels of CP in the diet (at the requirement and another with a 3% reduction), with 8 treatments with 6 replications and 15 birds per plot. The 3% lower CP level was adopted in order to challenge the use of zeolite in the diets. There was a significant interaction for all the variables studied and in all the broiler phases. In the 1 to 7 day phase, diets containing reduced protein and the inclusion of 2% zeolite significantly increased the values of MME (3617+-84 kcal/kg) and MNE (3418+-77 kcal/kg), being higher than diets without zeolite supplementation (2804+- 76 kcal/kg), with the opposite effect occurring when supplementing this additive in diets with adequate protein levels. For the other phases (8 to 21, 22 to 35 and 36 to 42 days), there was a different effect to that of the pre-initial phase, i.e. the positive effect of zeolite at the 2% level in relation to better nutritional and energy use of the feed occurred when supplemented with diets containing adequate levels of protein. This research shows that supplementing with up to 2% zeolite increased the utilization of nutrients and energy from diets with adequate levels of CP in all stages of the birds' lives. However, in the 1-7 day stage, this same level of zeolite (2%) improved this utilization when added to diets with a 3% reduction in CP.

The objective of this work was to analyze the economic feasibility of implementing a feed factory for internal consumption in a company in the poultry sector, through financial feasibility techniques. This is a case study that was developed through scientific research with a qualitative-quantitative and descriptive exploratory approach, where theoretical information was collected through bibliographical research; and market data, price and business structure with the company. The cash flow projections were developed according to the sales estimates intended by the company and used for financial viability analysis through the Microsoft Excel 2016 program, where the NPV (Net Present Value), IRR (Internal Rate return) and Payback, all analyzed considering a TMA (Minimum Attractiveness Rate) established by the company. The project's calculated IRR was 6.58% and both the NPV and the Payback can prove to be more advantageous if the company is willing to increase the investment horizon. In order to make the project financially viable, the company can develop strategies that allow the use of waste from its slaughterhouse in order to produce flour of animal origin in order to reduce the cost of feed, given that it was the most costly factor when evaluate production costs.

The objective of this work was to determine the nutritional and energy value of waste from the biscuit and biscuit industry (RBB) and pasta (RM) in broiler chickens using the total collection method, using 1% of ferric oxide, as a marker of the beginning and end of collection. These residues come from the manufacturing industry of savory and sweet biscuits and macaroni, in which they are discarded and can pollute the environment, which were analyzed for the composition of dry matter (DM), crude protein (CP), ether extract (EE), Crude Fiber (FB), Ash (CZ), Non-Nitrogen Extractives (ENN) and Gross Energy (EB). A metabolism experiment was carried out with a total of 90 birds with an average initial weight of 481.510.50 g, to determine the coefficients of apparent metabolization of dry matter (CMAMS), crude protein (CMAPB) and gross energy (CMAEB), and the EMA (apparent metabolizable energy) and EMAn (apparent metabolizable energy corrected for nitrogen). The experimental design was completely randomized, with three treatments (T1 - nutritionally balanced reference ration composed of corn and soybean meal, T2 - 70% reference ration and 30% mass residue and T3 -70% reference ration and 30% biscuit residue and wafer) and six replications of five birds per experimental unit. Diets were provided ad libitum for a period of eight days, four days for adaptation and four days for total excreta collection. The results of the nutritional composition of the by-products were: RBB with 91.7% of DM, 8.34% of CP, 4333 of EB, 1.24% of EE, 1.65% of FB and 0.14% of CZ; andRM with 88.87% DM, 11.55% CP, 3882 EB, 0.92% EE, 1.3% FB and 0.74% CZ. The RBB EMA and EMEn values were 3959 and 3480 Kcal/kg; and RM of 3812 and 3616 Kcal/Kg.
