The COVID-19 pandemic generated a series of consequences, among them the need for social isolation and with it the increased demand for online shopping can be highlighted. This made e-commerce companies need to optimize their delivery processes and, consequently, invest in infrastructure compatible with the demands. Therefore, many institutions demanded their capital for investments in the construction of logistics warehouses in strategic regional points, in a period of economic crisis, which was reflected in the increase in the prices of civil construction inputs. Faced with the demand for new constructions and rising costs, engineering professionals needed to find technical solutions that had less impact on construction budgets. Thus, this work consists of a bibliographical research, supported by a case study, through the technical and economic feasibility between the use of polypropylene macrofiber and metallic fiber, normally used for the execution of floors in industrial sheds. In addition, this also points to the influence of the Covid-19 pandemic on the variation in the prices of these materials in the market. The case study presented will serve as a quantifying agent in the economic analysis, considering the price difference between the use of these types of fiber on the floor of a refrigerated warehouse built in the state of Pernambuco. Thus, within the current scenario chosen, it was concluded that the use of both types of fibers is technically possible, however, in economic aspects, based on research with suppliers of these materials, associated with the case study, the polypropylene macrofiber presented itself as the lowest cost option.
