IoT4Fun is a modular tool for rapid prototyping of smart toys. The tool allows the collection of motion tracking data and has a wireless communication interface and radio frequency identification. The general objective of this article is to present the tests carried out to evaluate the previous version of the IoT4Fun tool in order to verify the physical integrity of the modular components after the incorporation of IoT4Fun in five prototypes of intelligent toys. Another objective is to propose a new board for the IoT4Fun tool. The tests carried out included the evaluation of the battery module's autonomy in different application scenarios and the vulnerability analysis for security threats. After evaluating the test results, the need to develop a modular plate for the IoT4Fun was found. Therefore, an electrical scheme was elaborated and, from it, the layout of the printed circuit boards for each module was designed. As future work, prototyping of the new version of the IoT4Fun board will be carried out and new tests will be developed to evaluate the proposed solution.
