Item Góticos em Poe: o terror e o grotesco em O Gato preto e O Coração denunciador(2019-01-31) Farias, Jéssica Limeira de; Silva, Monaliza Rios; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8558188707796223; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6443079616938888This research intends to analyze two short stories from the North American Literature, from the perspective of the Gothic genre. The corpus of this study consists of the short stories: The Black Cat (2015) and Tall-Tale Heart (2015), both by Edgar Allan Poe. The objective is to verify the different aesthetics of Gothic present in the two tales. This research is of the bibliographic type with theoretical discussion and critical analysis of the corpus referred to here. As a theoreticalcritical contribution, we use Lovecraft (1987) and Kayser (1986) for reference on the Gothic and its aesthetics. As a result, we realize that the tales of Edgar Allan Poe bring the prospects of terror and the grotesque in the aesthetics of Gothic literature.
