Pangolão grass (Digitaria pentzii Stent.) Is a stoloniferous perennial grass that achieves high phytomass yields in semiarid regions. The objective of this study was to evaluate the growth and agronomic characteristics of pangolão grass subjected to water stress and different doses of biostimulant. The experiment was conducted from May to June 2019, in the experimental area of the Forage Cultivation Study Group, Federal Rural University of Pernambuco, Serra Talhada Academic Unit, Sertão do Pajeú microregion. A randomized complete block design was used in a 3 x 3 factorial scheme with three levels of biostimulant (0, 4 and 8 ml / L) and three irrigation slides based on crop evapotranspiration (ETc) (50, 75 and 100 % of ETc), with four repetitions. Plant monitoring was performed weekly by evaluating the following morphological variables: leaf blade length and width, stem length and diameter, plant height, number of tillers, number of leaves: expanded, expanding, senescent and dead. At the end of each cycle fresh and dry masses of leaf blade, stem and sheath, as well as roots were made at the end of the experiment. The higher dose of biostimulant provided an increase in root mass and irrigation depths greater than 50% of ETc positively affected phytomass production. Therefore, pangolão grass has moderate tolerance to water stress.
