(2022-06-03) Santos, Paula Tárcimam Gomes; Soares, Ana Paula Amazonas; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0216127558312955; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6790001160720461
The present work is of an exploratory nature, presenting an analysis of the performance of the Regional Managements of Education -GRE, in the municipalities of the State of Pernambuco. With the hypothesis that the good performance of high school GREs students in 2019 in the state of Pernambuco can contribute to regional economic performance. And GREs located spatially closer to each other may reflect more similar performances. The objective is to verify the performance of high school students from all municipalities in the state through the data provided by the 2019 SAEB, linked to the characteristics of the Schools, Directors, Teachers and Socioeconomics of the Student. Therefore, there is the intention to identify groups that present similar characteristics. For this purpose, the cluster analysis technique was used. Due to the hierarchical clustering methodology, which considered the Ward's distance (minimum variation of differences), they were performed in the Rstudio Software and analyzing the dynamics of the formation of clusters (or groups). The technique made it possible to accurately visualize, through the manipulated variables, the performance of the GRE and to know the profile of the modal student of the year 2019. The results indicate that the GRE with the best performance, with a higher average in Portuguese and Mathematics, above average of the State, are located in the Sertão of Pernambuco. And the most present profile of high school students, they declare: brown, live with parents and siblings, live in urban areas, have easy access to school, study in state schools and have the participation of parents in their school life.

The purpose of this study to analyse the possible influence of a change in parental involvement in their children's education on their academic performance. Using panel data extracted from a longitudinal Monitoring Survey of Academic Performance of Public Elementary School Students in Recife (FUNDAJ, 2018), the difference-in-differences method and propensity score matching model were used to analyze the possible effect that a change in the person responsible for the children's educational support has on their proficiency in Portuguese and Mathematics. Among the results found were some evidences that the change in parental involvement in the students' school life presents a negative and significant effect on the OLS estimates, implying a negative influence of this variable on the students' performance. However, when observed by the difference-in-differences method between the groups that were treated with the change and the group that did not undergo the alteration, the effect is not significant. Therefore, it is not statistically significant to explain changes in the averages of Portuguese and Mathematics proficiency between the groups.

The suspension of face-to-face classes caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, led to the adoption and execution of the Exceptional Academic Period (PLE) in Brazilian federal public universities through the publication of Resolutions nº 85/2020 and after nº 185/2020. The Federal Rural University of Pernambuco, in compliance with these resolutions, started to offer, in remote format, curricular subjects and other activities, due to the suspension of face-to-face activities as recommended. With the provision of emergency remote teaching, the facilities and difficulties provided by its adoption in higher education began to be discussed. In view of this context, we start from the following concern: What are the impacts caused by the Sars-Cov-2 (Covid-19) pandemic on the academic performance of students of the Degree in Physical Education at the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco? To answer this question, the general objective was proposed to identify the impacts caused by the Sars-Cov-2 (Covid-19) pandemic on the Degree in Physical Education at UFRPE, and as specific objectives: 1- Identify the differences between the Remote Learning and Distance Learning (EAD); 2- Identify how the Degree in Physical Education was organized to fulfill the pedagogical activities and to account for its eminently practical character in the social distance imposed during the Covid-19 pandemic; and 3- Identify some positive and negative aspects that facilitated and/or were impediments to teaching activities during the Sars-Cov-2 (Covid-19) pandemic for teachers and students. The present study consists of a qualitative research that aims to produce information, we use as a strategy the case study, about a current phenomenon in a real context, the case of the Degree Course in Physical Education at UFRPE in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic. Documents produced by UFRPE and by the course in its collegiate were analyzed. The results found when we analyzed the technical report of the DEFIS Teaching Commission, and by the Structuring Teaching Nucleus, point out as a positive consequence for students the opportunity to complete the course and for teachers to take a course in the area of information technology and as a consequence negative: lack and/or difficulty in connecting to the internet, lack of computer, difficulty in concentration for students and teachers, lack of mastery of platforms and lack of pedagogical practice to work with practical subjects. These negative factors were some of the main impacting consequences for the academic performance of UFRPE students.

It is already known that dance as a physical activity can provide the individual several health-related benefits. Some studies have pointed out that, in addition to these benefits, the systematic practice of physical activities can have a positive effect on school performance. However, it is not known whether dance, specifically, can influence children’s behavior and school performance. In this sense, the objective of the present study was to analyze if the regular practice of dance, while extracurricular content, can influence chilçdren’s behavior and school performance, from the perception of parents and dance teachers of two private schools of Recife/PE. For such, a descriptive study was carried out, with a quali-quantitative approach. Twelve parents/guardians of children practicing dance and three dance teachers from two private schools located in the North Zone of Recife/PE participated in the sample. As a data gather instrument, it was used a questionnaire for parents/legal guardians and another for teachers. The questionnaires contained open-ended and closed-ended questions, and were selfapplied. The results show that the parents/guardians participating in the study perceive that the children have a school performance that varies from good to very good, but do not make a relation between the dance practice and the students' school results, although they perceive the children's dance practice as a positive extracurricular activity. Parents and teachers recognize that children changes acquired from regular participation in dance classes, which can positively influence their school performance. The set of data allows us to conclude that parents and teachers, although they recognize positive contributions of dance practice in the children's behavior, cannot perceive dance as an agent in school performance.

For a long time, the issue of school shifts in relation to students' sleep was made a secondary issue in studies that evaluate learning as a phenomenon governed by physical, psychological and social issues. The study of chronotype in relation to student performance is still a field little discussed in Brazil, so when we look at this topic, we still find a series of gaps with regard to academic production on the topic. Objective: The present work aims to carry out a narrative review of the literature on the influence of the relationship between sleep, chronotype and school shifts on the learning of adolescent students. Methodology: For this review, a search was carried out in the literature, using the Google Scholar database, with the following search key: “school shifts AND chronotype AND sleep AND school performance”, we searched for articles that were written in Portuguese. Results: Only 4 articles were found in the entire search on Google Scholar, based on the categorization criteria, analysis of titles and abstracts, and the four were analyzed based on the construction of this literature review, the articles addressed changes in the standard sleep patterns, chronotype and changes in the quality of life of students, indicating the influence of these factors on the circadian rhythm. Final Considerations: Finally, we consider that the chronotype/school shift/sleep quality relationship directly influences the learning processes of children and adolescents.

The research presented here aimed to analyze how the actions of a non-formal education practice can influence the school performance of students living in socially vulnerable situations. To this end, a case study was carried out with the Child Citizen Charitable Association (ABCC), a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), with operations in the Cordeiro neighborhood, in Recife / PE. Since 2000, ABCC has been constituted as a space for social interaction that serves young people and children, offering access to education, sport and culture with the objective of promoting citizenship. To study the theme, a review was initially made of the concept of school performance and the factors that influence it, as well as a deeper discussion on formal and non-formal educational contexts. The procedures for data collection consisted of bibliographic survey, semi-structured interviews with teachers and focus group with students. For data treatment the content analysis method was used. Students and teachers were interviewed and their answers collated and analyzed in the light of the theoretical framework previously presented. As a main result, it can be seen that the actions of a non-formal education practice establish complementary relationships with formal education, positively influencing the school performance of students living in socially vulnerable situations, especially by the affective base built daily through motivation, respect and acceptance.

Differences in the educational performance of students can be seen through evidence made byschools and evaluations of government educational systems, and this performance is directlylinked with socioeconomic of student and school structures as well as their teachers. One ofthe evaluations made by the INEP (National Institute of Research Studies) to evaluate theperformance of elementary school students, in which this work is dedicated, was created SAEB(System of Evaluation of Basic Education). Through the data provided by SAEB, a more detailedanalysis of student performance can be made. The aim of this work is to use computationaltechniques to analyze data from the SAEB referring to students of the 5th year of elementaryschool in the state public schools of pernambuco. In order to perform this work, the CRISP-DM(Cross Industry Standard Process for Data Mining) methodology was used, making use of all itssteps to better understand and organize the data. The work made use of the Weka software, whichin turn helped in the application of techniques and algorithms for the analysis of the database. The research was able to bring the development of a performance model to assist educationalmanagers and teachers in decision making.

(2021-07-22) Silva, Joselita Alves da; Oliveira, Isabel Cristina Pereira de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4745142041015422; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8988993750219561
This work presents a case study carried out with students from Elementary School II, at the Municipal School Professor Jorge Camelo of the municipal network of the city of Lagoa do Carro, in the state of Pernambuco, in order to analyze the school performance of elementary school students from the socioeconomic indicators and the political pedagogical project of the Municipal School Professor Jorge Camelo in Lagoa do Carro, Pernambuco. These students were submitted to a 66 questions questionnaire, in 08 sets, which aimed to deeply analyze the socioeconomic profile of the pupil, their future aspirations, their school and extracurricular activities and behavior. In order to get to know and better understand the student, the parents or guardians were also submitted to an interview, divided into 05 blocks, which analyzed their relationship with the study of their children, their emotional aspects, as well as socioeconomic issues. It was also necessary to know the profile of the school's Teacher, their affective relationship with teaching, and the school's pedagogical political project. The results showed us that the clientele of the School Jorge Camelo is poor or extremely poor, and that more than 70% survive only from the Bolsa Família Program (PBF). With regard to the occupation of families, this takes place mainly through agriculture. Likewise, socioeconomic conditions alone do not determine school outcomes. In other words, these are not determining factors for school failure. According to data from the Ministry of Education (ME), in the last 05 years the results of external evaluations (Evaluation System of Pernambuco and Brazilian Education Assessment System) were unsatisfactory and, in 2018, the School occupied first place in the ranking growth in school performance in the State of Pernambuco, with the implementation of a pedagogical proposal with goals and objectives for the exercise of citizenship by students at the Municipal School Professor Jorge Camelo.

(2022-06-03) Santos, Kleybson Rodrigo Martins; Soares, Ana Paula Amazonas; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0216127558312955; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7919130450780875
Education is seen not only by common sense, but also by economic theory as one of the main factors driving development. In this context, the present work, which has an exploratory approach, aims to investigate socioeconomic issues that are capable of influencing the performance of students in the state of Pernambuco, in Brazil. For this, microdata from the Sistema de Avaliação da Educação Básica (Basic Education Assessment System, Saeb) of 2019 was used, totaling 76,596 students—after due data treatment—, also adding socioeconomic variables, with which cluster analyzes were performed by three multivariate methods (hierarchical method, K-means and PAM), in the statistical software R. The results of the tests of averages pointed out a heterogeneity in the student's performance among microregions of Pernambuco and, later, a susceptibility to overflow of policies between sets of nearby microregions was found. This work also focuses on the 2015-2025 State Education Plan, elucidating its content, goals and strategies, in order to contextualize the exploratory analysis.

High-performance sports training requires performance and dedication from the athlete, often conflicting with other areas of their routine such as studies, for example. This athlete's dedication ends up taking his studies to the background, damaging his academic performance. Inflexible educational and sports laws are combined with the lack of favorable educational performance requirements and contribute to failure in academic performance or abandonment of studies by athletes. Therefore, we propose as research questions: what are the relationships between sports performance and the academic performance of student athletes in academic publications? What are the difficulties and successes identified in the student-athlete's double journey when reconciling the training routine with the school routine? And we define as a general objective: to understand the relationships between academic performance and sports and, specifically, to understand the relationship between sports performance and sports training and to understand the relationship between academic performance and schooling; Identify the difficulties and successes encountered in the double journey of student-athletes based on the analysis of studies published on the topic. To this end, we carried out a bibliographical research on scientific articles and obtained the following results: the analysis of the articles showed a conflict between dedication to sport and studies, and restrictive sporting and educational laws regarding this relationship. We conclude that it is essential to guide sports and educational laws, linking academic performance to sports, as well as dialogue between educational institutions, sports entities, families and student athletes themselves to find solutions that meet individual needs aiming at the human formation of quality.
