(2019-07-08) Silva, Jéssica Ferreira da; Galvão, Simone Perruci; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1523292800241605
The curing procedure consists of protecting the surface of the concrete from the environment to which it is exposed, avoiding the excessive loss of water from kneading and early formation of cracks. Is essential for the development of concrete strength and for its integrity in the first moments of the hydration. The order to analyze the different curing methods and their influence on the property of characteristic resistance to the compression of a conventional concrete for 30MPa, it work examined three types of cure, among them: thermal cure at 70ºC, wet cure by immersion in water and wet cure by immersion in calcium hydroxide solution. For the thermal curing a device was developed using the Arduino so that the expected conditions were reached. From the analysis obtained in this work it was observed that the thermal and wet curing by immersion in water were more effective at the age of 7 days, compared to the wet curing in saturated lime solution. At 28 days, the cure by immersion in calcium hydroxide solution showed the highest strength gain compared to other types of cure, showing an increase of 1.42 MPa compared to the cure made by immersion in water for 3 days, and 1.97 MPa in relation to thermal cure.

Calibração de sensores de umidade do solo de baixo custo
(2018-08-24) Oliveira, Cássio Lopes de; Lima, José Romualdo de Sousa; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3010818143250408; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2341449977247809
The monitoring of soil moisture is of extreme importance for the correct management of agricultural activities, such as irrigation. There are several methods to perform this monitoring: direct methods and indirect methods. These methods have advantages and disadvantages with respect to each other, for example, the direct (gravimetric) method, or standard method has the advantage of being a cheap method, however it has the disadvantage of being a destructive and slow method in the acquisition of the data. Indirect methods, which enable instantaneous and accurate readings, have the disadvantage of the high cost of purchasing such equipment. In this way, there is a need for a soil moisture monitoring system using low cost sensors and equipment, which can be accurate and read in a short period of time. Therefore, the present work had the objective of calibrating soil moisture sensors of low cost in soils of different textures. For this, soil samples were collected and submitted to particle size analysis. In order to obtain samples with different textures. A soil with high organic matter content and hydrophobic character were also used to evaluate the effect of hydrophobicity on the functioning of the sensors. After that, calibration tests were carried out on 06 units of low cost sensors model HL-69. The calibration tests consisted of determining the soil moisture directly (gravimetric method) and at the same time the sensors were read for different soil water contents. After the calibration tests, the data were tabulated and processed in electronic spreadsheets, where from the means of the readings of the 06 sensors, equations of adjustments were obtained for each type of soil. The percentage errors of each sensor were also calculated with respect to the mean of each sensor for each texture. It was observed that, independently of soil texture, the sensors presented a stabilization of the reading when submitted to humidity above the field capacity of each soil. It was also noted that for soils of the same texture and at the same moisture level, each sensor presented a different reading, indicating the need for individual calibration of the same. In relation to soil with a high content of organic matter (hydrophobic), it was verified that the sensor readings were different from the soils without this characteristic. Thus, it is concluded that low-cost sensors have good sensitivity within the range of available soil water, and can be used for irrigation management. However, they require specific calibrations for each type of soil and also for each sensor, this need increases even more when dealing with soils with high levels of organic matter.

Desenvolvimento de um protótipo de um software para um sistema não cabeado de captação de eletrocardiograma para experimentação em modelo animal
(2022-10-06) Caetano, Maria Luiza Guerra; Nogueira, Romildo de Albuquerque
Usually, cardiac activity variability research has as its methodology a study of cardiac autonomic control. In animal experiments, electrophysiological signals are obtained using chemical (drug) or mechanical (container) containment methods, which produce artifacts in the signal of interest. A solution to avoid the inconvenience produced by these procedures is the use of wireless capture systems attached to the vest. Despite the existence of equipment with this technology, the reality of research laboratories comes up against the high cost of acquiring this equipment and the relative difficulty of the size of the vests, which are produced for dogs and cats, given that they are aimed at the medical clinic. small animal veterinarian. This manuscript presents the results obtained in the development of a software prototype for a graphical interface of an unwired system for recording the electrocardiogram of Wistar rats. To analyze these results, the data obtained were compared with those captured through a wired system using commercial software. For this, the detrended fluctuation analysis (DFA) of the referred data was used, where no statistically significant differences were observed between the mean valuesobtained between the systems. Taking into account the initial results, it indicates that it is viable for improvement and future use in the experimental routine with Wistar rats, seeking to improve the quality of the data and better comfort for the experimental model.

Refrigeration and air conditioning systems are essential in residential, commercial, and industrial segments. The data acquisition and the control of equipment results in an improvement in efficiency and a decrease in energy consumption, considering that the data obtained bring a better visualization and understanding of the components of the system. This work aims to automate data acquisition from a vapor compression refrigeration workbench by developing a low-cost data acquisition system. The system was developed using Arduino and LabView with the assistance of LINX software. After the communication between the controller and the program, six thermocouples were installed on the refrigeration workbench to acquire the temperatures in the program of the data acquisition system. For reading system pressure values, a camera was used to capture images from six analog pressure gauges. From reading these data, the pressure-enthalpy diagram of the thermodynamic cycle was obtained. The experimental refrigeration workbench has been used in teaching and research activities. The data acquisition system developed for the refrigeration workbench improved the realization of experiments, all wing a better comparison between experimental and theoretical results.

Autonomus robots are those who are able to complet tasks and goals in unstructured enviroments. One of the main goals of these type of equipment is to complet tasks that are considered to be repetitive, dangerous or impracticable to humans, beign used in domestic or industrial environments. To reach that goal, it’s essencial that the autonomous robot has a good location system. Various types of trajectory system control algorithms are proposed and the PID control is one of the classical controls that are popular in many aplications, making it possible to use it as a navigating system. Therefore, this reasearch proposes the development of a robot prototype, to asses how a digital control PID assists the development of it’s movement.

This work proposes the analysis of PID controllers developed using a mathematical tool, pidtool, to define the controller parameters for controlling a boost converter. The boost converter is designed to ensure a 15V output with a fixed 5V input. Experiments without the use of controllers are performed to confirm the voltage level increase. When the controllers are implemented, an 8V setpoint is defined for the output to protect the connected components in case of potential failures, considering it is a prototype. Computational simulations and practical experiments are conducted using the proposed converter parameters to compare the step response of the proposed controllers. Finally, a discussion is held on the collected data, the applicability of the matlab pidtool in designing PI, PD, and PID controllers, and a brief discussion on future studies regarding the impact of different hardware types on control.

Currently, heavy rains are the main causes of natural disasters in Brazil, causing rivers to overflow and disturbances for the community affected by this problem. Therefore, the prototype of a low-cost device was developed, whose main objective is to monitor and transmit the data obtained (volume of the water level of the rivers). Considering the transmission and analysis of data, the device is enabled in the concept of Smart Cities and Internet of Things, as it uses information technology to collect, analyze and transmit data. For the construction of the prototype, an Arduino microcontroller board and some other electronic components were used. The source code of the device was developed through Arduino IDE, a code compiler, based on the C / C ++ programming language, where the data received by the hardware will be interpreted and analyzed. An accuracy test was applied to identify and relate the values obtained by the device, where the results were satisfactory, considering that the distance data captured by the device were accurate, compared to the actual physical quantity. A simulation was carried out in a cylindrical container (where such a scenario can be made a relationship with a river), where the results reached the expected goals: using the developed code, calculate the distance between the water level and the device, interpret the calculated value and turn on the LED related to the water level situation (red LED for high level, yellow LED for medium level or green LED for low level). Given this result, it is possible to validate the functionality of the developed code and the built hardware.
