Item Trabalho de Conclusão de Residência: área de concentração – clínica médica, cirúrgica e da reprodução em grandes animais(2023-02-23) Souza, Jerônimo Hugo de; Bartolomeu, Cláudio Coutinho; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7619056086707716; http://lattes.cnpq.br/4918960351233428The Multiprofessional Residency Programs and in the Health Professional Area are a teaching modality, aimed at the health professions, which seek to integrate teaching-service-community, configuring an extremely important stage in the career of health professionals, allowing a better training through in-service training, thus delivering a more qualified professional to the labor market. The activities directed to the Medical, Surgical and Reproductive Clinic Area allowed the carrying out of services directed to the equine, swine, bovine, caprine, ovine and buffalo species, contributing to the development and improvement of skills inherent to e veterinarian profession. The present work aims to describe the activities carried out at PRAPSMV, during the period from March 2021 to January 2023 and to present the case report - Coxofemoral injury resulting from trauma in two cows. The total number of consultations performed in the period between March 2021 and January 2023, indicating a sum of 373 clinical, surgical and reproductive consultations among all species of large animals, of which 194 were ruminants, 170 horses and 9 pigs. With varying levels of complexity and affecting the various organic systems, a vast and qualified training was possible, important for the professionalization of the resident. In the context of the SUS, the work carried out allowed several learnings related to Public Health, making it possible to observe the main demands of the population, the activities developed by the Environmental, Epidemiological and Sanitary Surveillance and, mainly, the importance of the role of the veterinarian as a health professional in NASF. It is concluded that the residency was of paramount importance for professional improvement, obtaining the necessary qualification and confidence to offer the labor market a specialized service, aiming at the prevention, treatment and well-being of animals and the general population.
