The research is inserted in the current context of teaching and learning music in the non-governmental organization (NGO) for children and young people coming from communities neighboring the Project and in their majority from the popular classes of Recife and Olinda. I present the guiding question: "Has the Núcleo Musical of Peixotinho contributed to the human and social emancipation of young residents of the periphery of Recife and Olinda?" and from there I formulate the hypothesis that Peixotinho is capable of generating emancipation through professional musical, artistic, and human formation of the student subjects, and that this formation is of an emancipatory character. We used semi-structured interviews as an instrument to collect data from managers and graduated students in order to answer the guiding question and discuss the experience of the Núcleo Musical Irmã Scheilla of the Projeto Peixotinho in the light of some theories of the sociology of education. I conclude that the Núcleo Musical, from the voices of the interviews, possesses the human and social emancipatory potential, starting from musical education but expanding to other dimensions of life.Item A formação da sociedade do cansaço: uma reflexão sobre a educação a partir de uma escola pública de Recife(2019-12-16) Silva, Lucas de Lima Gonçalves da; Brito, Paulo Afonso Barbosa de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0891943804378064; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3769075927101151Havin in sight the alarming number of young students from Recife nowadays with psychic problems, like depression, anxiety, Burnout syndrome etc. The present work aims to analyze if it’s possible to estabilish a direct relationship between the socialization made by the education with the increanse in the rate of psychic disorders of this population. Does the current educational model exert neuronal violence in young people? If so, in what ways this violence is exercised? And what are the consequences of this violence? To verify the truth of the thesis and answer these questions, a field research was made using questionnaires and interviews with students and former students with the purpose of collecting data to be analyzed and support a theoretical discussion capable of verifying this thesis. It is concluded that it’s possible to estabilish a relationship between education and the population’s psychic illness insofar as it internalizes values and routines that throws the individual in a life full of neuronal violences that contribute to the formation of psychic problems.Item Movimentos sociais entre continuidades e inovações: a experiência do Movimento em Defesa da Mata do Engenho Uchôa(2018-08-30) Holanda, Wilson Caio Constantino de; Brito, Paulo Afonso Barbosa de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0891943804378064; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9326998146193411The social movements burst with spectacular mobilizing and formulating power in the May 1968, profoundly changing agenda, characters and methods involving the social popular struggle so far; from the working class, the working world, the factories sites, to the plurality of subjects, diversity of mottos, occupation of streets, squares, universities, incorporating questions such as peace, race, gender, identity, among others. Bearing this new notion in mind, this work focus the discussion in the social movement called “Movimento em Defesa da Mata do Engenho Uchôa”, studying its role as a changing agent in a given local reality. This movement follows the tradition of social movements in Recife throughout the History of Brazil, being able to place itself as a representative of the desires of several communities neighboring the Engenho Uchôa woodland. However, the movement fits in the dimension regarding the socalled “New Social Movements”, because it is notorious for the defense of the environment, which ascended from a local demand, but is present in a global agenda of collective efforts.Item O protagonismo juvenil da AIESEC: uma experiência internacional no chão do Nordeste(2018) Conceição, Carolina Gomes da; Brito, Paulo Afonso Barbosa de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0891943804378064; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8590335938652477This thesis deals with young people and their relationship with society as protagonists who assume the roles of social actors. For this we take as reference the experience of a youth organization called Aiesec. In the theoretical field the work is based on the "Sociology of the Youth", as formulated by Karl Mannheim and later researchers. The main objective of the research is to demonstrate how and if Aiesec contributes to the practice of youthful protagonism through its discourse and actions. In order to understand and reflect on this matter, authors such as Antonio Carlos Gomes da Costa and Regina Magalhães Souza contributed to the debate of youth protagonism in contemporary times. The method adopted in this research was qualitative methodology, using semi-structured interviews and participant observation. As for the hypothesis, it was confirmed by the analysis of the data collected, so it was possible to find evidence that Aiesec provides and stimulates environments where youths can exercise their protagonist capacity, occupy spaces of decision and act as transforming agents in diverse spheres of society.Item Rumo à Ilha Esmeralda: a nova onda migratória do Brasil(2019) Mello, Gabriel Benício de; Brito, Paulo Afonso Barbosa de; Corrêa, Maria Iraê de Souza; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9339401156849765; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0891943804378064; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0311152735924304The current state of the economy, politics and moralsin Brazil isworrying. Currently we live in lands bathed by crises that affect the lives of thousands of brazilians, both in the issue of unemployment and the decline in quality of life, causing a group of individuals to seek solutions to these problems beyond the national territory. The main objective of the research wasto analyze in detail what qualified migrant subjects seek when performing the migratory act outside Brazilian lands. In this work we studied a profile of flow of individuals who have the desire to cross borders in search of emancipation and decent living conditions, because for these people, staying in Brazil means living within a hegemonic thinking focused on supremacy with colonial, capitalist and patriarchal elements. The situation was studied based on the theories of post-abyssal thinking of the sociologist Boaventura de Sousa Santos to identifythe motives behind the subject’s choice of migration. The case of the individual’s mobility during the migratory act was studied on the basis of the network capital theory of sociologist John Urry and Anthony Elliot associating it with the concept of motility written by sociologist Vincent Kaufmann. In the methodological framework, a single case study of a migrant subject who left Brazil with the purpose of seeking quality of life overseas was carried out. As a result of research, we realize that the subject's life situation when crossing the borders has been enriched in the face of an increase in social relations and the conquest of a social emancipation that is currently ona state of ascension. This work does not seek a solution to the problem described, but rather a reflection of the current situation in which Brazil finds itself, a country that before was the stage of immigration and today finds itself as a country of expulsion.Item Socialização no ambiente universitário: mediações nas relações docentes e discentes(2021-12-15) Silva, Eliane Pereira da; Brito, Paulo Afonso Barbosa de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0891943804378064This work aims to investigate the socialization in the university environment from the mediations in the relationships between professors and students in the Bachelor of Social Sciences course at UFRPE. During the data collection research, carried out through a questionnaire with the participation of twenty students, socializing experiences are evidenced both based on cooperation and solidarity, as well as on control and manipulation, with the first overlapping the second.
