Total de classes genotípicas, nas populações naturais, para n locos com quaisquer números de alelos
(1979) Falcão Filho, Paulo de Arruda; Falcão, Tânia Maria Muniz de Arruda
With the discovery of a great number of polyallelic loci in the natural populations, the total number of possible genotypic classes is actually very high. What mostly contributes to the raising of this total are the genotypic classes formed by the combination of loci in homozygosis with ones in heterozygosis. The totall> homozygotic genotypes or the totally heteri zygotic ones contribute in a minor degree. Gene linkage and epistatic interactions are, however, strong factors which somewhat reduce this high value. As a consequence, the natural populations must possess a genotypic variability which is potentially higher than the one actually exhibited.
