O discurso “Atravessamos uma época em que é preciso saber ousar e saber sofrer”, de Winston Churchill: uma análise dialógica
(2023-09-18) Campos, Jonatas Barbosa; Silva, Cláudia Roberta Tavares; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0948124881794535; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1876812219296769

Insidiosidade na retórica discursiva hitlerista: linguagem, discurso e poder
(2019-02-08) Abreu, Lorrayne Johanson de; Lima, Cristiano Soares de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/6931282608444674; http://lattes.cnpq.br/5349668147615825
Considering Adolf Hitler’s “legacy” regarding World War II (WWII), this research, based on French Psychoanalytical Discourse Analysis (hereafter DA), aims at analyzing one of Hitler's speeches, addressing Hitler’s Youth in September 1934. Observing the conditions of production of such discourse and also the rhetorical-discursive strategies of the speaker, it is possible to note different interdiscourses (and their distortions) among other theoretical elements approached by the DA Field. Once ideas “escape” to the enunciating subject, according Pêcheux (1997) and Orlandi (2009), it deems necessary to conduct a brief background history check on Hitler and then check whom were his words pointed at, since the meaning of ideas can change depending on who is using them. Since the discourse, in essence, results in acting upon the other, as the speaker seeks to make the interlocutor think, say and act according to the will of the former, this research aims at shedding some light and analyzing exactly such point. In this regard, this research discusses how a population seems to have been motivated to engage on WWII through distorted and extremist discourses, and also by the use of certain ideologies spread by someone who happened to be a skilled leader and speaker. Thus, we intend to perform (and contribute to) discussions on discursive choices and their functioning; on how the discourse can reveal more than desired by the subject (which may leave marks which may reveal unconscious traits); and on what effects of meaning each of the parts of the discourse bring.

A linguagem simbólica: ut pictura poesis no sermão de Nossa Senhora da Conceição pelo jesuíta Antônio de Sá (1658)
(2025-01-27) Silva, Victória Lorrany Almeida; Leite, Bruno Martins Boto; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3005775363936476; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9358403978156323
This article aims to reflect on literature and visual culture based on the structuring principle of the artist/writer's practice, present from Antiquity to the 18th century, called ut pictura poesis, using for this purpose the discourse of the preacher Antônio de Sá, resorting to his sermon of Our Lady of the Conception, preached in the Igreja Matriz de Recife (1658), to extract the narrated images and create a debate on the intersections with visual representations through the similar themes in both arts. With this objective, the methods used were the structural and literary analysis of the orator's sermon, in which the base sermon for the article was found, as well as bibliographical research, which collaborated in encompassing the themes of the Society of Jesus, sermonistic literature, the 17th century Baroque and theories of analysis of works of art. Therefore, it is proposed, through the extraction of its themes and narrated images, to contextualize it through the worldview of the period and visual representations that dialogue with the images uttered, with the intention of conceiving the meaning given to such representations. This connection helps to lead the pictorial and sculptural styles to be seen as styles that equally come from the intellect and ideas.
