This paperanalyzes the effect of natural resourceson the municipal and regional aggregateproduction of the State of Pernambuco between 2000 and 2010. For thispurpose, data fromofficial agencies such as IBGE, IPEAData, BDE, RAIS, STN and APAC wereusedtoestimate The effect of agriculture and waterresourceson the per capita output of municipalitiesthrough a modeling of Solow's economic growth theory with human capital and natural resources. The estimationmethodwas the multiple linear regressionwithbalancedpanel data. Dueto the longitudinal data of Pernambuco municipalities, weused the fixedeffect and and omeffectestimatorcontrolledby regional dummies to capture the importance of natural resources in the per capita production of the mesoregions of the state, especially the PernambucanSemi-arid. The resultsobtained are consistentwith the theory of economicgrowthwith natural resources, and indicatethatagriculture and waterresourceshaveanimportanteffecton municipal and regional aggregateproduction in the state of Pernambuco. It wasalsoobservedthat the per capita aggregateproduction of the Pernambucano Semi-aridmesoregions are onaveragelowerthan the Recife Metropolitan Region (RMR), except for the Sertão do São Francisco. Finally, it wasconcludedthatalong with human capital, natural resources play a relevant role in the state'seconomicprogress, especiallyconsidering the extent of arid and semi-aridlands, as well as the climatic and geographicalconditionsthataffect 75% of the state territory.

Due to the growing environmental deterioration, it has become necessary the employment of new methods of preservation and sustainability, through guided aplication of Environmental Technical Education in the citizen formation. The present work was developed at the Francino Albino da silva municipal school, intending to arouse critical thinking over environment saving and the effects of anthropic actions in the students surroundings. For such purpose, there were conducted workshops, lectures and activities focusing on knowledge and thecniques of environment preservation, sustainable development and correct destination for solid waste, along to the environmental and cultural knowledge built by comunity members, in order to increase living quality in the evironment in which they live. The Environment Awareness Statement occurs by the application of questionaires that adress to environmental issues and its deterioration. Therefore, the environment analysis complements the environment thecnical education, in the means of being the instrument of evaluation of students’s degrees of knowledge, understanding and sensibility towards environment interactions, in other words, “nature-being”. The activities proposed at the Francino Albino da silva municipal school were performed in the I and II years of preschool education and in the first and second years of Elementary school, in which the aplication of the Environmental Awareness Statements was directed only. Miscellaneous practical activities were acomplished with the preschoolers and elementaries, enabling learning trough play, such as the crafting of recyclable toys, which helped in the development of criativity, critical thinking, environment preservation and wastage carefulness, favoring hence the building of child understanding trough ecologically correct values.
Sustentabilidade: reaproveitamento de materiais recicláveis

A reciclagem é o termo genericamente utilizado para designar o reaproveitamento de materiais beneficiados como matéria-prima para um novo produto. As vantagens são a minimização da utilização de fontes naturais, e a minimização da quantidade de resíduos que necessita de tratamento, como aterramento, ou incineração. No meio-ambiente a reciclagem pode reduzir a acumulação de resíduos a produção de novos materiais, as emissões de gases como metano e gás carbônico; as agressões ao solo, ar e água; entre outros tantos fatores negativos. No âmbito social, a reciclagem não só proporciona melhor qualidade de vida para as pessoas, através das melhorias ambientais, como também tem gerado muitos postos de trabalho e rendimento para pessoas que vivem nas camadas mais pobres. No Brasil existem os catadores de papel, que vivem da venda de sucatas e outros materiais recicláveis deitados para o lixo. Também trabalham na coleta ou na classificação de materiais para a reciclagem. Como é um serviço penoso, não tem grande poder atrativo para as fatias mais qualificadas da população. Assim, a realização de atividades que busquem a conscientização da população a cerca da importância da reciclagem de materiais é de suma importância da melhoria da qualidade de vida da comunidade.
