Item Hidroginástica e qualidade de vida em busca do envelhecimento saudável com foco em pessoas idosas(2024-09-30) Santos, Jéssica Tamara de Sena; Lindoso, Rosângela Cely Branco; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3076590717855221; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9636472847494731The present research aims to analyze how water aerobics influences the quality of life of elderly people during the process of healthy aging. Given the high growth of this population group in Brazil, concerns about the health of the elderly arise. The theoretical references addressed significant approaches related to the topic, including authors such as Bonachela (1994), Nahas (2017), and Meneses (2021), who have published books in this area, demonstrating broad knowledge and contribution to the construction of important points discussed. The methodology used was through a bibliographic review, with a qualitative approach and an exploratory social research aspect. We used scientific articles to complement the understanding of the relevant dimensions demanded by water aerobics, with in-depth and enriching clarifications. The research of scientific articles was conducted on the SciELO, CAPES, and LILACS platforms, using the search descriptors: "Water aerobics" and "quality of life," from which several articles were obtained, and only those that belonged to the thematic area addressed were selected. Therefore, after the analyses carried out in this study, we can conclude that water aerobics plays a fundamental role in addressing physiological, psychological, and social issues, as it involves lifestyle changes for the elderly, correlating with benefits that help combat chronic diseases, cardiovascular, postural, respiratory, and psychological problems. Water aerobics has become synonymous with quality of life, making aging a less difficult and more enjoyable phase of life.Item O idoso e a expressão de suas necessidades: um estudo de uma uma realidade local(2019-02-14) Silva, Jussara de Araújo; Araújo, Luiza Cristina Pereira de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0135396145333123; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8707377633851333The purpose of this study was to understand the expression of the needs of the elderly in a long-stay home based on a local reality, related to the institutional situation, daily life and general aspects of their life experience, using as main reference to understand these Maslow (1970), as well as the references of articles and scientific research that deal with the subject of the elderly and their relationship with the institution, or long-term homes, or also called shelters, whose elderly are in shelter situation, within an institutional framework. The interest in the topic arose from our personal experience, from living in the research site, and we are faced with diverse situations of shelter and we feel the need and desire to better understand the forms of expression of the elderly in this context and how they deal with the adaptations required by this institutional condition. This study proposed the accomplishment of an exploratory study, through the accomplishment of a field research in a qualitative approach. Through the exploratory bias, we identified the manifestations of the needs of the elderly, aiming to increase the knowledge about the subject and to make it more explicit, at first. (SEVERINO, 2007; MALHEIROS, 2011). The interview technique was used with the elderly and the data generated from the subjects' speeches were analyzed from the content analysis proposed by Bardin (1977). Finally, the results showed that the physiological, safety and love needs are the main reasons for institutionalization and are expressed by the discourse of the elderly women and pointed out the need to expand and deepen the studies in this area in order to better understand the needs and conditions of the elderly people in long-term care institutions, so that they can be heard and encouraged to express their needs and be cared for, so that their stay may represent, beyond institutional limitations, the possibility of being cared for and experiencing moments of personal growth and re-signification of their experiences in this important phase of their lives.
