Tangenting the aspects of identity and memory, this work aims to identify which practices and knowledge of the makers of coco de roda in Igarassu that contribute to the construction of cultural identities that resist the domination of mass culture, the cultural industry and the impositions of local political power. In the theoretical framework, culture is understood as a system of symbols (Geertz, 1978) constructed through the socialization process, that is, it is about the customs, habits, codes and beliefs that are learned by the subjects from their insertion in the society. society (Laraia, 2020). Even to understand culture, it is necessary to understand it as a social and material process, so that questions related to the economy are not separated from culture, composing an inseparable totality. From this perspective, the meaning of culture is closely connected to social conflicts, political issues and the entire framework of power relations present in societies (Canclini, 1983; Williams, 2011). And popular culture as referring to the traditions, customs, uses and memories of the popular classes (Bosi, 2000), where conflict also prevails and a threshold is established between agency and structure, the structure of domination produced by a legitimizing identity and the agency produced by an identity of resistance (Castells, 1999). In this sense, we understand popular culture as tenacious and capable of resisting and building counter-hegemonic alternatives (Gramsci, 1995; Thompson, 1998). Regarding the methodology, we used the qualitative method, having symbolic interactionism as a theoretical-methodological framework. For data collection, direct and participant observation techniques and semi-structured interviews were used. As an analysis technique, content analysis was used. The research results showed that the cultural groups of coco de roda suffer from widespread devaluation by the government, but that they have been resisting and contributing to the formation of participatory, solidary and counter-hegemonic identities. Therefore, the social impact of this research lies in revealing these realities, promoting visibility for the theme and strengthening the construction of other works and public policies that value popular culture as part of the development of a human, integrated and diverse society. Work of Degree in Letters of the Federal Rural University of Pernambuco in the Academic Unit that Garanhus. Over these years, I was able to acquire theoretical and practical knowledge that allowed me to understand the importance of agroecology as a multidisciplinary science. Since the beginning of the course, I realized that agroecology goes beyond a simple agricultural production technique. It encompasses social, economic and environmental aspects, promoting sustainability and preservation of natural resources. This holistic vision awakened in me the desire to apply the principles of agroecology in my daily life, both on my farm and in my community. Over the years, I have produced several projects at my site, seeking to combine art and education with environmental conservation. Through events and the use of artistic and educational techniques, such as painting workshops, sculpture and environmental education classes with recyclable materials and clay, I managed to obtain results both in terms of creativity and environmental awareness of the participants. Art has become a powerful tool for conveying messages about the importance of preserving nature, while providing an enriching and inspiring experience for everyone involved. Furthermore, I realized that education and culture play a fundamental role in the process of spreading agroecology. Through workshops and exchanges of experiences, I was able to share my knowledge with other people, encouraging them to adopt sustainable practices on their properties. In summary, my academic training in Agroecology was essential for my personal and professional growth. Through it, I was able to understand the importance of agroecology as a viable alternative for the production of healthy food, but in addition, it also values a sustainable way of life, culture, art and education as fundamental elements for building a more balanced and conscious society. Also, I was able to apply the knowledge acquired on my site and in my community, contributing to the construction of a fairer and more balanced future.Item A importância da manifestação de cultura popular (a capoeira) e a perspectiva furtadiana de cultura(2022) Silva, Raphael Fernandes Xavier da; Sousa, João Morais de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9057718684364301; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2822376827933592Item Madeiras nativas para a fabricação da rabeca nordestina: descrição dos processos mecânicos das madeiras envolvidas na produção e seu impacto na manifestação cultural cavalo marinho(2024-02-06) Silva, Lais Deosdede da; Nogueira, Marcelo; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3921855854247393This course conclusion work aims to document the mechanical processes of unfolding wood from native species used as raw material in the artesanal construction of fiddles and the impact of the instrument on the manifest popular culture of Cavalo Marinho. The Cultural Inventory of Maracatu Nação, organised by Isabel Guillen (2013), was the last work produced that surveyed the trajectory of maracatu as an object of research, in addition to grouping nine other works on the same topic. 14 productions were selected for this research, and 13 of these have been analysed according to the adopted methodology. The discussions were elaborated by observing the aspects of gender, territory, methods of research and the types of sources observed in the bibliographic survey. The results point to changes in the profile of researchers with the entry of individuals that are actually part of maracatu communities into the university. There is an increase in the number of productions coming from researchers that are both female and from Pernambuco. Our conclusions point to the need for greater control and rigour with regard to the ethical aspects of research into traditional popular culture. These aspects should be addressed in the training of researchers and in the regulation of national scientific activity.Item Maracatu Sol Brilhante, como resistência cultural na cidade de Gravatá-PE(2024-01-05) Silva, Luanna Carla Rodrigues da; Silva, Ayalla Oliveira; http://lattes.cnpq.br/2807298214600577; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7722447587852440This study deals with percussive maracatu groups, with a focus on the percussive group Maracatu Sol Brilhante, in order to show the trajectory of the cultural percussion group and analyze the performance and socio-cultural place of Maracatu Sol Brilhante in the city of Gravatá. Paraphrasing Canclini (2015), it is possible to say that today all cultures are from border. Nevertheless, a border presupposes at least two boundary territories; in this sense the theoretical limits that we set out to analyze were those ofthe Cultural Industry and Popular Culture. The methodology followed a qualitative way of ethnographic inspiration and it consisted of discreet observations of the spaces provided by the cultural scene in question, interviews with the artists that compose it and documentary analysis of sites and lyrics from the songs related to the theme. As a final result, it was concluded that the canavial music is hybrid expression which, in addition to being simply a musical rhythm, it provides socializing environments with greatcreative effervescence, and it carries itself the coexistence of contradictory elements that are capable of generating images that promote the limits of several pairs of opposition: rural x urban, massive x popular, merchandise x art, subaltern x hegemonic etc...Item Notícia de três festas para Reis Negros no Médio São Francisco(1978) Benjamin, Roberto Emerson CâmaraA festa dos Reis Negros comemorada no ciclo folclórico do Rosário celebrou-se durante o período colonial e o Império em diversas regiões brasileiras. Among these practices, the Pegas de Boi no Mato stand out for being more popular and accessible to cowboys who wish to compete in traditional disputes. In this context, the objective of this work was to carry out a bibliographic review on the Pegas de Boi no Mato. In addition, using publicity posters of the Pegas de Boi no Mato, it was also aimed to characterize the structure and functioning of this equestrian modality. For that, posters of Pegas de Boi no Mato were collected, carried out in the Brazilian Northeast, in search sites and social networks. In the sequence, information related to: numbers of editions of each event, municipality, state, organization, date, registration / password value, dispute categories, presence of musical attractions, classification criteria, value of the ticket for the party, among other details deemed pertinent. After tabulation, the information was submitted to descriptive statistical analysis. Of the 240 posters considered, 60.2% corresponded to events that were between the 1st to the 5th edition. In addition, most Pegas de Boi were organized by relatives or groups of friends, evidencing the persistence of the sertanejo in keeping alive the tradition of their ancestors, even without the support of public agencies. In relation to the distribution of Pegas de Boi during the year, the period between December and February was the one of less activity for the cowboys. On the other hand, the highest frequency of these events occurred in the following months, March to May. As for the value charged by the password, average values between R $ 50.00 and R $ 70.00 were registered, well below the average of R$ 1100.00 collected in the Vaquejada disputes, reinforcing the social and democratic character of Pegas de Boi. When adding the total value of the awards per event, it was verified that this ranged from R $ 400 to R $ 30,000.00, with a majority (55%) spent up to R$ 5,000.00. In addition, of the 240 posters, only one considered the participation of cowgirls. It was concluded that the Pegas de Boi no Mato are important cultural manifestations that celebrate the northeastern culture and the memory of the sertanejo cowboy.Item Percepção dos professores sobre a tematização do bregafunk nas aulas de educação física(2024-03-06) Paz, Patricia Santana da; Pirauá, Natália Barros Beltrão; http://lattes.cnpq.br/1778511907021100; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7698571094019394The present research focuses on "Teachers' perception of the theme of bregafunk in physical education classes." Bregafunk is a genuinely Pernambuco dance style that emerged from the hybridization of two older styles, brega and funk. This music genre has been impacting the music market and mobilizing the peripheral populations of the state of Pernambuco, in the northeast region of Brazil. We understand that Bregafunk holds great social relevance as a dance style present in the social context of students in public schools in Pernambuco. In this sense, it is possible to question: "Is Bregafunk thematized in physical education classes? If not, why has it been denied? If yes, how is it being presented?" These questions motivated this study, aiming to verify if the dance style Bregafunk is thematized in physical education classes and how it is being approached with high school students. The study involved 31 Physical Education teachers from Pernambuco, where Bregafunk is more prevalent, responding to a digital questionnaire on Bregafunk as content, teaching methodologies, and personal relationship with the dance style. The study's results indicate that Bregafunk is being thematized as content in Physical Education classes, despite some teachers' resistance due to unfamiliarity with the dance style or belief that it does not align with Physical Education teaching practices. Nevertheless, it is being addressed through the appreciation of young people's social context or the acknowledgment of cultural diversity in Physical Education classes.Item “Que a sua sede não precise só de água, nem sua fome necessite só de pão”: um olhar sobre o significado dado à arte pelos estudantes e funcionários da Escola Municipal de Arte João Pernambuco(2024-02-26) Alves, Mariana da Conceição; Sousa, João Morais de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9057718684364301; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9994777527111627This paper discussed the perspective given to art and the importance of the space of the Municipal School of Art João Pernambuco from the viewpoint of the people who bring life to this school, employees, and students. Among the findings of the research, it was evident that regarding the significance given to the relationship with art and the school space by the interviewees, the therapeutic view of the artistic environment, its connection with the religious aspect, and the sensitivity to awaken in them a broader and more critical view of social reality stood out. Besides professional achievement, the realization of dreams, and the enhancement of self-esteemItem Virada afetiva e invisibilidade social: (r)existência, criatividade e potencial de desenvolvimento local no Maracatu Nação Estrela Brilhante de Igarassu/PE(2020-10-30) Maia, Tiago Macedo Bezerra; Sousa, João Morais de; http://lattes.cnpq.br/9057718684364301; http://lattes.cnpq.br/0108189730040447This monograph has a dual purpose. Unveiling affects and emotions that mobilize and motivate, subjectively and intersubjectively, collective practices and actions, which guide behaviors and decisions that influence public life, in the face of situations of social suffering, such as those with a lack of recognition, which cause and naturalize invisibility to be faced, and also better to show the endogenous development potential arising from creativity and resistance, typical of the manifestations of Pernambuco's popular culture. For this, in one hand and first, we sought to reflect on the role that affections and emotions assume, existentially and socially, in the subjects and in their intersubjective relations, within the social sciences, after the recent “Affective Turn”. From that point on, it entered into the understanding of the phenomena of pathologies of social suffering, as communities that are marginalized in social invisibility suffer and that are not contemplated by public policies that recognize them, in the agenda of the arena of construction of social problems, in contemporary times. On the other hand, a cultural perspective of local endogenous development was designed and articulated, focusing on the potentialities and possibilities of creativity in Pernambuco's popular culture, exemplified in this work with Maracatu Estrela Brilhante from Igarassu / PE. In order to achieve the above objectives, a qualitative research was chosen using direct observation techniques, participant observation, semi-structured interviews and bibliographic-documentary review, all of which were illuminated by the ideas of interpretive social research, in order to be able to dialogue with reality of the black community of this Maracatu Nação, its religious and celebratory sense, its tradition and the memory of its ancestry with the need and urgency of support and to them, through the demands of cultural policies that almost do not exist on the part of the local instituted power. In the analysis of the speeches of the members of this manifestation / popular culture phenomena of the characteristic of “pernambucanidade”, there is a range of affections and emotions that emerge from them and that mark the perceptions and experiences of the relationships of the people who make up the Maracatu Nação studied here and channel the collective community effort to maintain and survive this heritage of black culture of African and Afro-Brazilian origin, as well as, from the potential for creativity and resistance that opens the way for a local endogenous development, to transform this social reality that historically its participants segregate and make invisible and which imposes and exposes them, on the margins of society, the constant social suffering.
