This work evaluates the performance of the intensive cultivation of Nile tilapia - Oreochromis niloticus - with bioflocosis technology in the raising phase, with a mean weight of 2.9 ± 0.09 g, using different levels of crude protein (CP) (commercial). The experimental design was completely randomized, involving four levels of protein (28, 32, 36 and 45% of CP), with four replicates each. The work lasted 63 days, and was carried out in boxes of 40L of useful volume, with 10 fish in each box (250 alevinos / m³). We evaluated, Weight Gain, Daily Weight Gain, Specific Growth Rate, Survival, Biomass Gain, Food Conversion Factor and Productivity. Among the water quality variables, the temperature and pH were within the comfort range of the species (27 and 32 ° C, 6 and 8.5) respectively, the dissolved oxygen had averages above 6mg / L. Nitrogen from total ammonia as well as nitrite was within the acceptable level for the cultivation of the species (18.6 mgL -1 and 2.12 N-NO2). The performance variables were not affected by the different levels of dietary protein (P> 0.05). The final weight was about 35g for the treatments and survival was higher than 75% for all treatments, while the productivity ranged from 6.62 to 10.08kg / m³. The study showed that crude protein levels of the feed can be reduced up to the level of 28% of crude protein in the diet in the intensive cultivation of Nile tilapia fingerlings - Oreochromis niloticus - using the biofloc system, without compromising the weight final weight gain, daily weight gain, specific growth rate, food talk factor, survival and productivity. However, in 2019, there was an oil spill on the Brazilian coast, so far, there are no studies that assess the health condition of bivalve molluscs after this episode. The objective of this work was to evaluate the health status of A. brasiliana through the identification of histological changes in the gills of these animals collected in areas affected by the oil spill in the Pina Basin (northern coast) and in the Rio Formoso estuary (south coast), both from the state of Pernambuco. Twenty adult animals (10 for each coast) were collected and evaluated via histology to determine histological changes in the gills. In general, several histopathological findings were observed, such as: infiltration; presence of infection; architectural and structural alteration; necrosis and parasitoids, in animals, for both coasts of the state of Pernambuco. Based on the results, it can be affirmed that the adult individuals of A. brasiliana, for both coasts of Pernambuco, have histological alterations of gills that indicate some degree of compromise in the health of these animals and in an unhealthy environment.Item Efeito da suplementação dietética com probiótico na taxa de sobrevivência e contagens total e diferencial de hemócitos de juvenis de Macrobrachium rosenbergii mantidos em sistemas de água clara e experimentalmente infectados com Vibrio parahaemolyticus(2019-12-04) Costa, Gisely Karla de Almeida; Silva, Suzianny Maria Bezerra Cabral da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8569566022920336; http://lattes.cnpq.br/7944903151003071Item Histologia intestinal de tilápia do Nilo Oreochromis niloticus submetidas a diferentes níveis de suplementação do extrato hidroalcoólico de Anacaridium occidentale na dieta(2024-10-10) Silva, Klarissa Albuquerque Larocerie da; Silva, Suzianny Maria Bezerra Cabral da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8569566022920336; http://lattes.cnpq.br/3138623022102113This study evaluated the effect of supplementation with the hydroalcoholic extract of Anacardium occidentale bark on the intestinal morphology of Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) fingerlings. After a 15-day acclimation period, during which the fish were maintained in 250-liter tanks, they were transferred to 40-liter experimental units at a density of 250 fish/m³ each. The hydroalcoholic extract of Anacardium occidentale bark was added to the diets administered to the animals at concentrations determined in the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) assays. Four treatments were evaluated: (i) commercial feed with 3% A. occidentale extract, (ii) commercial feed with 4% A. occidentale extract, (iii) commercial feed with 5% A. occidentale extract, and (iv) control group (commercial feed without extract addition), all with four replicates each. The experiment lasted 30 days, and the diets were offered three times a day (08:00, 12:00, and 16:00 hours) to apparent satiety. For histological analysis, five fish were collected at the beginning and one fish at the end of the experimental period (one per replicate for each treatment). The intestines were exposed in Petri dishes and divided into three segments: anterior, middle, and posterior. A 3 cm portion of the middle intestine was used, which was longitudinally cut to expose the villi. The total height, height, width, and thickness of the villi were measured. As a result, higher mean values for all intestinal morphology variables evaluated (height, total height, thickness, and width of the villi) were observed in the groups supplemented with 3%, 4%, and 5% of the hydroalcoholic extract of A. occidentale bark compared to the control group, with no differences among the treatments that received the extract. In conclusion, the supplemental use of the hydroalcoholic extract of Anacardium occidentale bark in the diet of Nile tilapia fingerlings resulted in a beneficial effect on the intestinal morphology of the supplemented animals, indicating improved development regarding intestinal health.Item Investigação da susceptibilidade do Macrobrachium rosenbergii ao Vírus da Mionecrose Infecciosa (IMNV) através de infecção experimental(2019-07-12) Silva, Scarlatt Paloma Alves da; Silva, Suzianny Maria Bezerra Cabral da; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8569566022920336; http://lattes.cnpq.br/8747995801017930Aquaculture is the fastest growing food production sector in the world. In Brazil, shrimp farming accounts for almost 20% of national aquaculture production. Although this activity began in the 1970s with the cultivation of marine shrimp Litopenaeus vannamei, the cultivation of freshwater shrimp, Macrobrachium rosenbergii, is growing in the country. Even though recent national data are not yet available, M. rosenbergii already accounts for about 3% of global crustacean production and is increasing in commercial production. This implies the emergence of a series of problems in the production chain, one of the main ones can be highlighted the emergence of diseases, as they are capable of causing great economic losses, as well as directly impacting the environment. Given this problem, the objective of this work is to investigate the susceptibility of shrimp M. rosenbergii to Infectious Myonecrosis Virus (IMNV) through intramuscular inoculation with subsequent determination of infection via nested-PCR and lesions suggestive by histopathology. For the study, 54 shrimps were acquired and divided according to life stage (Group1 = subadults and Group 2 = adults) and subsequently infected with IMNV intramuscularly. Within each group, a portion of animals that were not infected with the virus were reserved, received only one injection of saline and was called Negative Control. Exposure to the virus lasted 21 days and was monitored daily for water quality and mortality over time. After 21 days of the experiment, the animals were submitted to confirmatory diagnosis of IMNV infection through nested-PCR and histopathological analysis. All water quality variables analyzed were subjected to statistical analysis, following the assumptions of normality (Shapiro- Wilk) and homogeneity (Bartlett). Variance analysis (ANOVA) and Student's t-test were performed using the RStudio program (version 3.6.1) and except for pH and ammonia, the other water quality variables (nitrite and temperature) did not differ statistically. The nested-PCR data and mortality were submitted to descriptive statistics. All animals inoculated intramuscularly with IMNV, subadults and adults of M. rosenbergii, were positive via nested-PCR, confirming the sensitivity of this species to Infectious Myonecrosis Virus.
