    Entre o sertão e a Companhia: uma análise sobre a relação entre o povo Tarairiú e neerlandeses durante a dominação neerlandesa nas Capitanias do Norte (1630-1654)

    This paper seeks to analyze the complex situations of contact and relations established between the tapuias and the Dutch during the years 1630 to 1654, a period that refers to the Dutch domination of the captaincies of northern Brazil. The essay begins with a historiographical contextualization of the studies carried out on indigenous peoples over time. It then critically analyzes the sources and narratives dealing with the tapuias peoples, understanding that these writings, mostly by Dutchmen, were imbued with pejorative views and prejudices against them. The Dutch, like other Europeans, constructed justifications for their civilization in their narratives. In a third section, the work chronologically outlines the main moments of contact and alliance building between the Dutch and the tapuias. It seeks to understand the perspectives and interests of the latter within the complex colonial sphere.
