    This paper presents an analysis of the presentation of the contents of perfect gas in high school books made available by the national didactic book Program in public schools educational program throughout the country. The choice of books is through the list provided by the program itself in your guide, and the reading of works by looking at illustrations, contextualization, criteria language and presentation of the content in comparison with the book of reference widely used in training courses for teachers of chemistry. Linearity is observed on the criteria related to the general structure of the book and the presentation of the content, with absences of contention some works or incoherent and appropriate presentation too, but, in general, a need for improvements of the textbooks offered in the public schools of our country that can cause a prejudice to the teaching of students.
