Desafios e impasses para consolidação da geração eólica offshore na Matriz Energética Brasileira

The increase in energy demand and its environmental concerns have increased the search for alternative energy sources. In Brazil, onshore wind generation is already consolidated and has proven efficient to complement the energy supply, especially in dry periods, when hydroelectric reservoir levels are low. Once the potential of the onshore wind resource has been exploited, environmetal agencies along with the brazilian energy sector must come together to better investigate the brazilian marine wind potential. Although it has been proven that the potential of offshore wind power generation is higher than that presented in onshore wind generation, Brazil does not yet have any wind projects installed in the marine environment. Thus, this work seeks to unravel the main chellenges and impasses that the brazilian offshore wind generation will have to face to install the first turbines at the sea. For this end goal, the areas with the greatest potential for offshore wind power generation will be indentified, the main structures that make up wind farms in marine environment, the impacts linked to offshore technology and how european countries have managed to circumvent the obstacles shall be used as current references in offshore wind generation.
