    The development of fonts in typography has a long history that dates back to several centuries. Today, any text editing and processing tool has a large number of font types available, that allows the use of several font sizes and variations such as bold-face, italic, underlined texts and their combination. Different types of fonts are used for different purposes and may even be linked to the subject of the text it reports. This paper looks at different font styles, size, and variations in terms of automatic text recognition or optical character recognition (OCR) of printed texts, and shows that depending on those features the text transcription results may vary.
