He also had the purpose to demonstrate the literary profile of Marcelino Freire, as well as to verify the bias of the black character in the work Contos Negreiros and to visualize the social contributions of the work "Contos Negreiros" for contemporary Brazilian literature. For this we resorted to the bibliographical research, seeking to understand the treatment directed to the black in the Brazilian literature from an inquiry - what are the main social contributions and racial questions of the black character in the book Contos Negreiros? Before analyzing the bias of the black character in the award-winning work of the author from Pernambuco, it was necessary to present the biographical profile of the writer, social concerns, influences and literary production.
